ITC Coventry is the work of American designer Brian Sooy. ITC Coventry is what type would look like if you left a gothic font out in the rain. Fusion Sans is an amalgamation of traditional early nineteenth-century sans-serif letters. Despite its monotone structure it retains certain features common to roman. For instance lowercase ‘a’ and the two-storey ‘g’ are normal roman characters, while most letters are designed with a thinning of stroke at the junction of rounds to stems. Other letters are borrowed from earlier gothics, like lowercase ‘t’ which was first seen on a typeface that was developed by Paul Rand for Westinghouse in 1960. Aptifer Sans and Aptifer Slab are two 21st century typeface families created by Mårten Thavenius. Each family has seven weights, in roman and italic respectively, making 28 font styles in total. A heritage from two design traditions can be seen in Aptifer. One is the robust American gothic typefaces, like M. F. Benton’s, from around 1900. This is combined with the openness and legibility that comes from the humanist tradition. Grand Slam is based on an old cardwriting style known as Poster Gothic. This dynamic letterstyle was used in the heyday of the Hollywood movie poster because of its powerful and snappy appeal. The face is of uniform thickness and made as wide as possible without interfering with legibility. Its vertical strokes seem to be thickened slightly where normal serifs would be. It is interesting to note that another group of tiny little serifs populate the entire design. Grand Slam comes with a complete set of alternates including small caps and small figures. A lowercase has been added for greater versatility. Grand Slam is now available in the OpenType format. In addition to small caps, lining figures, oldstyle figures, petite lining figures, and swashes, this expanded OpenType version contains some new stylistic alternates. Fette Gotisch font is an interpretation of Gothic scripts in the style of the 19th century. During this time, the individualistics handwritings of the past were used to create and define new broken letter forms. This style has heavily influenced the designs of the majority of today's broken letter fonts. The strong appearance of Fette Gotisch made it popular as a typeface for emphasizing text.

Simeon's Handwritten Blackletter is the result of my desire to have my handwritten old English style writing available for my computer. It is a basic Gothic style font with my own touch to the lettering. Simeon's Handwritten Blackletter comes with full punctuation, a character set for most Western European based Latin alphabet languages. Being a decorative font, it works best at larger point sizes.

Codex was designed by Georg Trump and introduced by the font foundry C.E. Weber in 1954. Based on the German Gothic script of the 13th century, this font has the character of handwriting. Its capital letters are extremely big in comparison with the lower case, hence good for contrast in short text, however, this characteristic makes the font better suited to languages which use fewer capital letters.
