Blackletter typefaces, also known as Gothic, Fraktur, or Old English, have been used in the headings and initial chapters of books. The design of Zwoelf stems from a letter created by Oleg Pashchenko for the poetry book called “They Talk.” Modified in several ways, the lettering gained readability and a more neutral look. This typeface combines Modern and Gothic styles, ugliness and beauty, the horrifying and the funny. Typographers may highlight any of this. Zwoelf features elements that can be found in both Roman and Gothic styles, but has no real historical prototype. It creates coarse body copy that feels like blackletters. The type is well-suited for use with rough line graphics. Zwoelf is a good choice for short texts, headings, witchcraft potion recipes, madrigals, spells and treasure map naming.

Trigot is a modular typeface. Every form and every character is constructed from the basic geometric form of the triangle. I started to work at the Bernhard Studio in 1952 to 1959 in New York. I helped with some type designs and many other projects, this two tiered signature was added on all of Bernhard’s art that was produced in the past and in his later years. In the 50’s I thought Bernhard’s Gothic face was quite a bit outdated but as you may know it has become one of todays most used faces. His signature is based on his Bernhard Gothic Font. With todays computer technology I have digitized the caps and added lower case glyphs with lower ascenders and other slight changes.

Pasquinade is a blackletter/roman hybrid. The general look, feel and graphical styling of Pasquinade is that of a blackletter font, however, the underlying letter construction is of a traditional serifed roman. Vikive is a family of Sans Serif fonts, better known in its origins as "Gothic" in America or "Grotesque" in Europe. Some authors divide them into three categories: Grotesque, Geometric and Humanistic. Probably, it can be defined that Vikive has some characteristics of the first two: Grotesque and Geometric, high x-height, slight squareness of the curves, wide set, open tail, simple construction. The family concept provides several weights and widths for one face and its matching italics, therefore this family of types is more suitable for text settings, enriched with strong contrast fonts (condensed thin or expanded black) for headlines.

The Fou typeface family was designed as an alternative to Trade Gothic condensed bold. During the design process of a normally wide font variant a system developed that responds to white space and changing proportions. Thus, round transitions become rectangular and vice versa, space is made and space is taken away. This system and the associated changes are continued on a model with semi-serifs. Fou can also be used as an alternative to Din or the wider Q-Type, but in comparison offers more room for emphasis with its italics, expert sets and numerous special characters.

Ranch Hand JNL is a tall, condensed wood type with slab serifs. The font is somewhat bolder in weight than Nostrand JNL, but like its counterpart, fully captures the spirit and flavor of Nineteenth Century advertising, fliers and notices.
