Capsule is a reverse-stress, high-contrast, rounded sans-serif font with two distinct personalities. An all-caps face, there are however variations of some letters in the lowercase slots. The lowercase variants are more playful, with more bulbous elements that riff on phototype faces like Amelia and Data 70, but all can work together and be mixed and matched to your heart's content. Strak is a font that was born out of admiration for the work of E. Vermeulen, a Belgian artist known for his tight, precise line and an unseen masterpiece that is spread around the world. He has published and exhibited his work in London, Liverpool, Angoulême, New York, Geneva, Amsterdam, Lyon and Turku (in Finland) and he even signed for the New York Times. Based on a few characters, a complete font was composed by Kustomtype. After a few sketches, Strak came to life. Hexonu is a weird, awkward, monospaced font family. In place of true lower-case letters, it has a second set of capitals that, through the magic of the OpenType contextual alternatives (calt) feature, automatically alternates with the set on the upper-case keys. If one wants to use only one set of letters, the contextual alternatives must be turned off and character spacing adjusted. Hexonu is another effort to create a font with alternating sets of letters (see PoultySign, Lentzers, and Caltic for others). The base shape for forming the letters is a lopsided hexagon that resembles an old coffin. In four of the six family members, the alternating shape is a distorted hour-glass. In the other two, coffin shapes heads-up alternate with coffin shapes heads-down. The family was created as an experiment with the calt feature and not for any particular use. It does not work as text but its bizarreness makes it appropriate for some poster and signage applications.

The 10th Regiment of Foot is a British military unit raised more than three centuries ago—and perhaps most famous in the U.S. for seeing action on American soil during the Revolutionary War in the Battle of Lexington and Concord and the Battle of Bunker Hill. Military Scribe is modeled after the compact, utilitarian script on the mid- to late-1770s muster rolls of the Tenth of Foot. I incorporated the work of at least three separate scribes, merging their neat old penmanship into a legible disconnected cursive. Perhaps the most versatile of all our vintage handwriting fonts, Military Scribe might faithfully reproduce antique letters, labels, lists, or just about any document of the period. Dossier is a monospaced serif face that originates in Dwiggins's designs for typewriter. It has a soft and casual personality and comes in 8 weights and matching italics, making it ideal for text typography, package and advertisement design. Dossier is an adaptation of William Addison Dwiggins's unfinished typewriter faces. He worked with multiple typewriter manufactures including Underwood, Remington Rand, and IBM, but none of them were finished. He left a number of intriguing drawings which are now kept at the Boston Public Library. You could see in the drawings that Dwiggins was also interested in exploring designs of varied width. Toshi Omagari decided to combine these materials to make a cohesive family: the upright was taken from a drawing of monospaced lowercase for an unknown client, and the italic was from the work he did for Underwood which he called "Aldine". Toshi added narrower and wider alternates in the same way Dwiggins devised.

Scottsdale Desert is inspired by a classic contemporary Display combined with a simple modern Serif look. It's a versatile font, it can be used for a lot of design styles. This is the companion sans family to make the Librum serif families work as well as they do. By companion, I do mean stylistically compatible. But mainly, they have the same vertical metrics. So they work very well for run-in heads, inline character styles, and all the rest of the needs in large books with complex formatting. They are designed for use in InDesign, and they work very well in that environment. The fonts use the same OpenType feature files as the rest of the Librum families. The feature files for the italic and bold are more limited—as I have rarely used things like that [over the past 20+ years]. The character shapes are a bit whimsical. The original ancestor of this book design sans was a very playful font I released as Aerle. It’s been calmed down a lot but is still loose and friendly. Indipia is a caps-only misprinted font, ideal for display, titles, and headlines. It has alternative characters for all double-letter combinations aa-zz and AA-ZZ to avoid having two identical degraded letters together (You can see this by typing/copying words like mirror BASSOONS into the text box above, with Ligatures on); different characters for upper/lower case letters; and of course all the expected accented characters for European languages. There’s also Stylistic Alternates for some common letters and punctuation which will give a third version of the letter and/or add some random ink-misprints if selected. There are 2 styles -- Regular has small areas misprinted within the letter itself like little bits that haven't been inked, the Solid version doesn't, and the Solid one is on the grey gallery poster image. The zips contain both OTF and TTF versions - install either OTF or TTF, not both (to avoid incompatibility issues).
