Bisco Condensed is a small capital design inspired by hand lettered memorial wall art from the Harlem section of New York City. As a memorial, this design is dedicated to a type design colleague who lost his long battle with cancer. This font is a tribute to his strength and his liveliness. The original idea for Bisco Condensed was to capture the energy of those unique "streetforms" in a text/display design and encapsulate them into a lively & fluid type design with a high level of readability at all point sizes. Bisco Condensed is an excellent type for expressive display layouts. Monospaced become very popular among graphic designers. Nevertheless, I’ve noticed that in most cases that designers use monospaced typefaces is not because of their particular features caused by the strict rules of design — all characters share the same advanced width — rather because of it’s ‘electronic derived’ appearance. So, I decided to create a typeface that keeps the characteristics that, in my opinion attract designers to this particular sort of types, but deliberately break the main rule: characters do not share the same width — but they they look like they do! Characters are better balanced compared to truly monospaced types, giving more even typographic color while used in text setting. One weight might enough to please electronic type lovers. Designed in 2000.

Cinematica was specially designed for film credits in communication pieces. Due to its space saving qualities, geometric elegance of its shapes, and eight wights; it allows a wide range of uses. Its geometry makes Cinematica able to harmonize and unify any text, incorporating the necessary signs for composition in English, Spanish, Italian, French, German and Portuguese. The Regular weight also incorporates statements that usually appear in film credits (such as "directed by", "produced by", etc.) that have been programmed as predetermined ligatures and can be accessed by typing a short sequence of signs to avoid typing the full phrase. While uniqueness might be considered the main goal among type designers, our goal in this project was to be as far away from that uniqueness as possible. We designed MB Grotesk with strictest typography standards, holding fast to the type axioms long understood from the beginning of modern typography. After more than 600 hours of work — creation, production & release — the whole typeface family the MB Grotesk is a flawless branching away from the original Grotesque category. Included are 351 standard glyphs designed with geometric rules and grotesque type theories. MB Grotesk has 7 weights & their italics. It supports many languages including most languages which use both Latin and Cyrillic alphabets. We are looking toward extending this family to include condensed, extended & Arabic versions as soon as possible.

The Face2Face (F2F) series was inspired by the techno sound of the mid-1990s, personal computers and new font creation software. For years, Sibylle Schlaich and her friends formed a unique type design collective, which churned out a substantial amount of fresh, new fonts, none of which complied with the traditional rules of typography. Many of these typefaces were used to create layouts for the leading German techno magazine of the 1990s, Frontpage. Schlaich and her fellows would even set in type at 6 points, in order to make it nearly unreadable. It was a pleasure for the kids to read and decrypt these messages! Introducing Lando - a handmade uppercase type family with a natural character. Lando comes in two styles with two weights each. Its characters have been drawn by hand to give them a warm and authentic look. Lando's appearance is enhanced by two contextual alternates for each Latin character and all numbers. In addition, all fonts contain several open type functions such as swashes and initials, a selection of ligatures and support of open type fractions. It is rounded up by many handy extras, such as shapes and icons, catch words, bullets and much more. Lando is intended to work best in logos, posters, magazine headlines and on packaging and apparel. But it also feels comfortable with short texts, due to its support of many latin languages.

Years ago, I developed an interest in the Japanese art of dwarfed potted trees, bonsai. I bought some books on the subject from Brooklyn Botanic Garden. In one -- Handbook on Bonsai: Special Techniques (seventh printing, February 1976) -- the type was bad. Old worn lead type, I suspect, spread wide in the tops of characters and disappearing on the bottoms. Two decades later, I came across my Brooklyn Botanic Garden collection and was struck again by this interesting type. Inspired, I made a typeface. Didn't take me long to decide on a name for it, either: a name with a double-meaning, based both on its look and its inspiration. Bonsai, the typeface, has two styles, a roman and a true italic.

The Swedish designer/typographer Anders Bodebeck designed the Bodebeck type family in 2002. The family, which includes five different styles, is primarily intended for use as a titling, or display face, and belongs to the neo-transitional style of typefaces. Transitional style type first appeared in England during the late 1750s, when John Baskerville released his first sets of type. Bodeck bears similarities to another, later transitional style typeface as well - Eric Gill's Perpetua (originally released by the British Monotype Corporation in 1928). Like these two previous English stonecutters turned masters of typography, Anders Bodebeck has given us a modern re-interpretation of classic letterforms. Bodebeck, which is fitted with old style figures, is available in the following styles: Regular, Italic, Bold, Bold Italic, and Extra Bold."

The German poet, painter, calligrapher and type designer Emil Rudolf Weiß originally created this eponymous typeface for the Bauer Foundry of Frankfurt. Long known and loved by metal type enthusiasts under the name "Weiss Antiqua," this design was inspired by typefaces from the Italian Renaissance while still distinctly reflecting the artistic and poetic personality of its twentieth-century designer. Weiss has tall ascenders, sharp apex points, and a low-slung midsection on the caps. The italic moves like a classical ballerina. Weiss is one of the earliest contemporary serif types to have italics based on the chancery style of writing. The Weiss family works well for warmly legible text typography; and it's also an original choice for refined headline and display graphics."

Compact sans, ideal for setting long texts in small or very small type sizes: for packaging, instruction booklets, drug information leaflets and anything else that has to be legible at very small sizes. Lean and rhythmical, designed ideally to be used at less than 8 points (Brevier was the old typefounders’ name for 8-point type), Brevier holds up well even under adverse printing conditions. The apparently geometric letterforms hide Renaissance characteristics, the x-height and openings are very generous and the strokes slightly modulated. In order to offset ink spread – which is inevitable when printing very small sizes of type – Brevier has large white spaces between the letters. All internal angles have deep ink traps and many connections have been left open.
