I have always enjoyed this typeface and have had fond memories from the time I originally drew its predecessor, Kari. Now with almost 100 new ligatures, alternate and swash characters, Kari Pro has a great deal more personality and versatility. This steam era typeface, created by Gustav Schroeder in 1884, found popular use on soap box labels and tobacco tins during its initial release. Then, later, a successful and stout revival of Gustav's face, named Othello, was carried out by Morris Fuller Benton in 1934, and the typeface's appeal widened to include items such as broadside posters featuring Boris Karloff's Frankenstein. After metal gave way to film type, Gustav's creation experienced a brief fashion moment in the 1960's, but then disappeared entirely, never re-surfacing as a full digital typeface. With the release of Bathysphere, the typeface comes full circle, having been completely redrawn from scratch using Gustav's original specimens. The new extended language support establishes the typeface firmly in the modern era, while Bathysphere's refinement of subtle blunt corners restores a deep-sea grace to this iron giant.

Henry Gray’s Anatomy of the Human Body (the book, not Grey’s Anatomy, the TV series) was heavily scoured to find more unusual bones shaped like letters. I’m not particularly fond of beans. I do eat them, but they’re not my idea of a delicacy… But this font has ‘fairy tale’ feeling to it, and I liked the name Beanstalker. Beanstalker is a hand made font (I used a fineliner to draw the glyphs). It is quite neat and organized, but does come with some rough edges and a bit of texture.

BearerFond has been in my pen for years and I've used this way of writing a lot on cassette cases. Anyone still using cassettes? Me neither, so in order to keep it alive I have made a font out of it and named it bearerFond; as in bearer bond, since it looks like it could be used on official documents. Nothing too official though.

Claude Duflos was a French engraver and printmaker at the end of the 1600s. He produced a great number of beautiful plates, executed principally with the graver very neatly finished. At the base of his work we can appreciate his legible lettering carefully executed with his particular ductus. During this period three different hands were developed in France: Ronde (an script deriving from “Civilité”), “Lettre Italianne” and Bâtarde Coulée that is a modification of ronde. The hand of joined letters, which lent itself to a rapid writing, became a model for English round hand or copperplate style. CDuflos is our typographic interpretation of the lettering style produced by Claude Duflos. CDuflos is presented in two versions: Basic and Extended Pro, which include diacritics for Central European languages. The Pro version also comes with a set of decorative glyphs including ligatures, alternates and swashes, including terminal letters and a set of ornaments.

It’s cherry season, so I bought 2 kilos of cherries at the local cherry farm. The cherries I bought had been in a cooling cell, so they were quite cold. As I was eating them, the name for this new font popped up! Chilly Cherry is a handmade serif. This font is the condensed version of Queulat, but keeping the same features as the original typeface. Queulat Cnd is a hybrid typeface that combines different styles, reflecting charm, freshness and, especially, a strong personality.. Since it is a condensed font, it is well-suited for publishing and subheadings. The font is inspired by Modern and Grotesk styles. The former is shown in some characteristic features such as teardrop terminals, which give the typeface an attractive unique look, making it an ideal choice for logotypes and labelling. The latter, with its rationality, makes Queulat Cnd a stable and strong face for headings and subheadings. The combination of styles can be clearly seen by comparing the Regular with the Alt version. The Regular version is more simple than the Alt one. Differently, the alternative version possesses more features of the Modern style, like teardrop terminals in ‘k’ and ‘v’.

Hand-hewn along the banks of the mighty River Raisin in Southeast Michigan, this heavy block typeface is the perfect addition to any design project in need of a stout, yet fun typographical treatment. Before this font made its journey into the outside world, it began its life as a 4B pencil sketch on cheap inkjet printer paper, as many of my projects do. This typeface, not unlike me, doesn't waste its time with finesse, or convention, and truly doesn't mind being a little bit on the thick side. There is a time for refinement and propriety, but this ain't it.

Big Welly …in the United Kingdom we have a very British phrase which is ‘Give it some Welly (Wellie)’ this is often shouted to a person as encouragement or criticism, it asks for more effort to be put into whatever he or she is doing. The saying comes from an informal name for Wellington Boots; Wellies - named after The Duke of Wellington. Hence, ‘Big Welly’ the font, this font is bold and big on the one hand and handwritten on the other. These two attributes make this font ideal as a poster font or t-shirt font for instance to make your message really stand out. Something about the swoopy loops in the uppercase characters of this typeface, originally called "Ronde", reminds one of the signature 'do of a certain real-estate-mogul-turned-TV-celebrity, and so this font was named. Delightfully different, this face can be playful or formal, as suits the the occasion. To complete its nineteenth-century creds, the font includes classic bishops fingers at the ASCII tilde and ASCII circumflex positions. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

“Kamenica” - named after a beautiful small mountain river in Serbia - is a font family containing 3 weights: Light, Regular and Bold. The Kamenica river is only a few meters wide. Mostly shallow and cold, clear and green, it was the direct inspiration source for the creation of this condensed typeface. As our other typefaces, “Kamenica” also combines traditional shapes with modern forms, tall x-height and a collection of more than 300 glyphs. Comparing the river with the font, we could say that letters are the fishes that lives in the Kamenica river and that the font weights are the seasons in which this river shows most of its own character.

The origin of the word Codswallop is uncertain, but it might have something to do with a 19th century English soft drink brewer named Hiram Codd. Codswallop is a beautiful hand drawn font. A little weird, a tad grotesque and a wee bit over the top, but fun and useful nonetheless.

In the spirit of the old days, before water sparkled and before typefaces were known as fonts, Chank is proud to introduce Chippewa Falls the font. This font comes with fancy swirly uppercase letters and stout small caps for lowercase, as well as a heart-warming story. Chank rescued this former custom font from an abandoned design proposal. He gave it some TLC and before long a retro typeface emerged, with lettering worthy of good old fashioned sleigh rides and candy canes. HEY YOU GUYS! Goondocks PB is a faithful recreation of the titling font from 1985 film, "The Goonies". This was a lot of fun to recreate and flesh out, and it has that purposefully awkward appeal that a lot of Pink Broccoli fonts are imbued with. With a pseudo unicase styling, wonky blockish style lettering, and that visceral tieback to the 80's, Goondocks brings back fond memories, perfect for those unorthodox creative designs.

Centric is a rounded and happy font. The circular design that covers the face of this font was inspired by the ripples made when a pebble is thrown into a pond. The outline shapes of the characters were derived from the Font Mafuta. Centric is doubly effective when used in conjunction with Mafuta. It is best used for headings and where you intend to make a strong impact, possibly with an African flair.
