The name FeggoliteHatched comes from the fact that it was created with the help of an old font manipulation program called Incubator Pro. It was an attempt to create a more conventional typeface from the odd monospaced font, FeggoliteMono. As a monospaced font, FeggoliteHatched could be considered a typewriter face, but no typewriter ever produced letters like these. The original version from 1994 is now the italic style and it has a leftward or back slant. The upright or plain version was added much later, in 2018. There is also a choppy upright version included in this family.

Designed between italic and script styles Airco is a typeface designed between italic and script styles. The letterform finish is rounded. Designed ultra slanted (27°), the shapes evoke a fast and assertive movement. The result is a human typeface, dynamic, that will visually work well in technology and sport, without ever being dry, rigid or dehumanized. The structure of the letters is influenced by Renaissance italics, at the difference that in the case of Airco, the lowercases and capitals are visually homogeneous thanks to the giants lowercases. In fact, the default numerals can be used in capital as well lowercases settings.

AndrewAndreas is a simple, clean, sans-serif font family that is highly legible and useful for both text and display purposes. The original three weights were designed in 1994 and three additional weights plus oblique styles were added in 2020. Also added were several OpenType features, including subscripts, superscripts, and fractions. The six oblique styles slant the upright styles but do not change the shape of the letters. However, three OpenType stylistic alternatives provide alternative letter forms for a, f, i, j, and l for five of the obliques and they can be used for a more traditional italics appearance.

The inspiration source for Fantasie Monogram is another hand-drawn design from a vintage embroidery publication which relies on rigid geometric letterforms on a dynamic slant stepping downwards. This monogram, which evokes visions of it embossed or printed on antique cookie tins, was originally intended to adorn handkerchiefs, but the possibilities of its use are up to your imagination. This is one of many monogram designs from the early 1900’s which fall into a two letter format that is either adorned or interwoven decorative elements. The late 70s and early 80s is sometimes considered to be the period when headline typography went off the rails. Growing up in that period, some designers may beg to differ. Many geometric designs were available in dry-transfer and for the typositor, and were used everywhere a youth-culture look was appropriate - annuals, comics, club flyers, high-street boutiques, TV-advertised compila tion albums. Nightclubber is a fond homage to the excesses of the period, and should be used back-lit in pink neon or at a rakish 45 degree slant across a blurred photograph of a glitter ball.

The titles struck me as handsome -- the titles and captions and place labels on a page I have of Henri Abraham Chatelain's Atlas Historique. I'd already modeled Antiquarian Scribe after the neat, slanted penmanship used in the body text of Chatelain's famous old world atlas; now I felt compelled to digitize this legible roman handlettering, as well. The letterforms are strong and handsome. They've got a certain deft, organic character. A personality. I can't fully explain it. But this antique alphabet seems suitable for many applications. An ebay purchase of a vintage Speedball lettering pen set yielded an extra bonus… numerous alphabets on paper rendered in both pen and ink and via pencil sketches. One such design in rough pencil layout is a classic serif typeface often found on many passenger and freight trains, trolley cars and busses. This “Railroad Roman” was scanned from the original sketches and then re-drawn digitally, all along retaining the charm and attractiveness often found in hand lettering. The end result is Streetcar JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

This typeface came about when playing with felt tip marker settings in Corel Painter and is derivative of my own handwriting. Up until Workstation Clutter, all of my fonts were designed on paper, then scanned or reproduced into a digital format. With the use of Painter, the non-digital steps were removed, making this the first fully-digital Zang-O-Fonts typeface. Brian J Bonislawsky of the Astigmatic One Eye Typographic Institute helped round out the character set and additional needed characters. The name was inspired by an ex-girlfriend's disorganized desk.

ITC Matisse was designed by Gregory Gray while he was designing an editorial layout for Madame Figaro, a supplement to the Paris newspaper Figaro. While working on a feature on the work of Henri Matisse, Gray created a typeface with paper and an X-Acto knife, and then scanned the cutouts into a computer. The style of the design comes in part from Gray's passion for African art, with its contrasts between flat areas and protruding surfaces. ITC Matisse is ideal for offbeat display applications and initial capitals.
