My son Konstantin wants to become a cook. So I thought it would be a nice idea if I designed a script for his fabulous future menus as a gift for him. I think he will become a great cook. The three Konstantin cuts can be mixed. The A cut has the most straightforward letterforms, the B cut has more swashes in the capitals and swinging descenders and last but not least, the C cut gives you some fancy lowercase letters. All three cuts have different numerals. If you mix the fonts be careful not to overdo things, mostly - even with scripts - less is more. Your family designer Gert

M Kai is a design inspired by the popular Kaiti developed in contemporary China. MKai adopts many features of Kaishu, one of the many Chinese writing scripts and calligraphic style. Yet writing style and constructions have been well-unified to meet quality as typeface. Its strokes has relatively heavier stroke beginning and finishing, as well as thinner middle part. It is catered for fine print with little conglutination. Its medium weight makes it more visible at distance and pretty versatile in use. Spencer is a calligraphic semi-serif type family that has been carefully designed to provide easily distinguishable letterforms that are practical in use, as well as aesthetically appealing. It's natural and organic forms comes from a deep consideration of the efficiency of the visible word and provides the typeface with a distinct and unique voice.

 Named after Herbert Spencer, an educator and researcher of legibility at the Royal College of Art in the sixties and seventies, and influenced by other early typographers and legibility researchers, such as Walter Tracy and John Harris. Spencer was designed as part of a legibility study by Sofie Beier and Kevin Larson.

A collision between some stylin' caps from legendary lettering artist Samuel Welo and a lowercase loosely based on ATF’s Romany Script yields this curious little wonder. Named after a 70s song which averred that all it took to be “the coolest guy what is what am” is to talk fast, walk slow and look good wearing that 'hair. Please note that, due to the exaggerated overhang of the many of the uppercase characters, this font has been optimized for upper- and lowercase uses. Both versions of this font contain the Unicode 1252 (Latin) and Unicode 1250 (Central European) character sets, with localization for Romanian and Moldovan.

Büro Destruct’s «BDR mono» typeface has a long tradition in the font library of typedifferent. Initially designed by Lopetz as a single weight, monospaced Mac PostScript Type 1 font way back in 1999, it got a first update as a little family with light, regular and bold weights, plus an extended glyphs set in Opentype format during 2006. With this 2021 update the typeface received a second rounded family and a complete glyphs set with all needed characters used in the north, east, south and west of Europe. The last couple of years felt like I was living in a bad dream: I witnessed crazy leaders, climate change and now Covid. I usually name my fonts after things that affect me and this one is not different. Dreamworld is a font I made with a cheap marker pen I liberated from my kids’ pencil box (I will put it back, pinky promise…). This typeface design came out of further development and refinement on an original typeface that i created some time ago, Durango Sans. True in nature to it's predecessor, Neo Afrique was also born out of this desire to fuse two different aesthetics, the geometric Neo-Futuristic aesthetic, fused with flourishing decorative forms from Art Nouveau and the later Lubalinesque aesthetics. This typeface will form part of a larger body of work that is meant to be an exploration of Afrikan neo-futurism, using the immense power of visual-linguistic narratives to catalyse new cultural movement and perception.

Linotype CoolWool is part of the Take Type Library, featuring winners of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contest. This font was designed by A. Leonardi and P. Wollein, who took their inspiration from clothing labels and care instructions. As a graphic designer, sometimes it’s impossible not to be inspired by the Swiss Style, specifically the work of Armin Hofmann, who is one of its best exponents.
