The original plan for Atlantic was to design a typeface in the Venetian syle of the Renaissance, with handwriting character and large ascenders. There is a wave-rolling unevenness in both the x- and cap-height caused by the strong ductus pointing to the upper right, together with heavily curved serifs, resulting in a very lively image of text on a page. Atlantic ? its name reflects the ocean, ships, carriers and loads, tourism and so on. These are the themes Atlantic is best suited for. The extended family includes a serif, a sans, and a special variant ? a SeaWashed. More? Atlantic was designed for the URW++ SelecType collection.

Eurobrush Pro is a new handwriting script designed by German type designer Ralph M. Unger. He produced not only the standard Western character complement, but added all of the Eastern European Latin glyphs and, on top of that, even the complete Cyrillic characters. Mosquito Formal, by Éric de Berranger, takes the original jaunty design of Mosquito and dresses it in a tuxedo. The stressed character strokes, simple, straightforward shapes, relatively large x-height, open counters and hint of Peignot are still there, but the cursive strokes and lively terminals have been replaced with traditional designs. The result is a more serious-and more sophisticated typeface. The idea," says Éric de Berranger, "was to assuage the drawing of Mosquito. To 'calm' it; and eliminate its idiosyncrasies while preserving character structure and general appearance." Although still distinctive, as Éric de Berranger puts it, "Mosquito Formal is more to be read than seen, it is more invisible and thus, more readable than my earlier design." HOKKIEN is an all caps sister to my other font Penang. It was inspired by some old pieces of Art Deco signage I had discovered in Penang Malaysia, The font is available in one weight for now.
