Maga shares the skeleton with one of our first typefaces (Quaestor, from 2004), but we didn't want to simply expand an existent design, so we took a step forward—not just with improved features and new weights, but also making the italics more usable than its predecessor. Geulwoll is a Korean word for letters. HU Geulwoll is a handwritten font that conveys a calm feeling by creating a lyrical and old atmosphere. Kongress is a typeface that includes all that is needed for building a proper corporate identity. The design relies on the use of straight lines and a squarish structure for the characters, which provides the text with a compact appearance. This feature helps to save space when required by the typographic composition. The design is also defined by wide counterforms and clean cuts for the strokes. All of this helps the shapes to adapt better to digital environments. Nevertheless, Kongress is not another techno typeface. The slight modulation of the strokes—especially in the italic letterforms—and the large apertures for most characters result in what we will call a techno-humanist style. The squarish structure of a techno-font blends with the calligraphic modulation of a humanist sans serif typeface.

Originally made for a health food store chain we cannot name, Pipa is the embodiment of organic display typography. Although it draws inspiration from some cold type ideas, like the uncredited Atlantis from VGC and a couple of older photo-lettering faces, its overall expression is right in line with what has become today's vernacular in integrity organic display packaging. Pipa's construct approaches the thick-and-thin idea from a rarely used perspective, where the flow in form contrast naturally seeps out from within each stroke, while minimizing the amount of strokes helps the totality of the setting come positively alive. This is bead and lava lamp psychedelia for the 21st century. Pipa comes with plenty of alternates, including some very cool unicase variations, and extended Latin language support.

Capsa is a typeface designed for use in books. Although inspired by Gros Romain Ordinaire and Saint Augustin Gros Oeil from the Type Specimens of Claude Lamesle, this typeface does not intend to be a revival or an interpretation. The Vignettes and Patterns provide a very classic yet contemporary look to the design.

Decima Round – one more addition to the Decima fonts family. It is a new version of recently released Decima Pro fonts with new content and styles. The main difference in the new version is a visual softer impressions of letter shapes made by the rounding of all glyphs’ corners and terminals. Decima Round is released in OpenType format with some OpenType features and support of most Latin languages as well as Cyrillic.

Iova Nova is based on Jowa Script, designed by J. Wagner in 1967. The typeface has been redesigned, digitized, completed and expanded as OpenType Pro in the profonts studio. The resdesign includes the modification of the numerals which originally had capheight size. Besides, we complete the character set to cover Western and Eastern Europe including Turkey and Romania. The font contains more than 300 characters. Iova Nova is a young, fresh and casual design.

Darwin Rounded, the resequel to Darwin, is ready for sea and new adventures! A new fresh design with an updated language support and different sets of figures. Straight from the ‘extras’ drawer, the mismatched Sluicebox character set is comprised mainly of serif type specimens. What makes the type series so appealing? The curves. When asked to describe the letterforms, most people unwittingly allude to the human form, using adjectives usually reserved for describing physical traits… creating all-too-familiar comparisons. Summerour has grown to accept this as unavoidable and reasonable given his acknowledgement of its influences and has provided nuances within the letterforms to accentuate that.

Before 1959, in pre-Castro Havana, Cuba, the preeminent nightclub was the Tropicana. During the regime of Fulgencio Batista, Cuba was resplendent with nightclubs and gambling casinos catering to [mostly] the North American tourists; which brought it the title of the Monte Carlo of the Americas. Although Cuba (and the world as a whole) has changed vastly over the decades, the hand-lettered logo of the Tropicana Night Club has survived, and has been reproduced as a complete digital font called Tropicano JNL (a slight twist to the club's name). At first the font seems to be awkward, crude and amateurish, but in taking a second look, there's a playful charm to it. Additionally, this font can double as a "spooky" font for the Halloween season, monster parties and in other similar themes.

Nosegrind is a bit of a departure from our usual more traditional font offerings. It's based on skate-culture graffiti gleaned from various samples of similar style found on walls in Austin and online. The font includes two character sets, one which is plain and one which is enhanced with outlines. In normal usage the characters should nest, with slight overlap from one character to the next as shown in the sample to the right, but the lower case characters in the font are spaced evenly but not pre-nested, leaving the degree of overlap up to the user - nesting is easily adjusted with the tracking option in programs like Photoshop, Quark or InDesign. Ultimately Nosegrind will be added to our Modern Fonts collection, where it ought to fit in nicely.
