The A.B. Dick Company was a manufacturer of mimeograph duplicating machines which produced copies by the process of transferring ink through an etched wax stencil onto paper. Alex felt that the skeleton for Contax Pro was ideally suited to modify the design into a true gothic companion typeface series.
