Pompeijana is a part of the 1990 collection Type before Gutenberg 2’, which includes twelve contemporary typefaces each representative of a particular era. Pompeijana is Adrian Frutiger’s contribution to the project Type before Gutenberg’. He based the forms of this capital typeface on the writing of the Romans in Pompei. The decorative look of the alphabet is achieved by purely graphic means, placing the emphasis of the top and foot of the letters with heavy horizontals and diamond-shaped serifs. Frutiger completed his typeface with the weight Borders, a font consisting of numerous ornaments true to the style of the alphabet. The ornaments can be combined to form different borders and offer an optimal addition to the elegant Pompeijana. Pompeijana is best combined with modern sans serif typefaces.

Museum Borders and Ornaments is part of a typographical treasure, the Norstedts type collection in Sweden. Type designer Torbjörn Olsson has painstakingly translated the original 34 Ornament matrices in the collection to Open Type. Among them are several of Granjon's arabesques, as well as symbols from both Swedish and Danish typefoundries. The signs were cut in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. The old Swedish name for these "type trademarks" were "rössjor". Museum Borders and Ornaments is an OpenType creation, for both PC and Mac. Swedish type foundry T4 premiere new fonts every month. Guerrer is modern sans serif family of 20 fonts, 10 weights from thin to black, consists of uprights and matching italics (obliques). Kanna Aoki drew the letters for MVB Emmascript while on a picnic near the Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Mark van Bronkhorst adapted the writing as a font that maintains a very natural scrawl. Later a bold weight was added. MVB Emmascript has been used to add a lighthearted, human touch to everything from fiction paperbacks to potato chip packaging. The typeface is named for Aoki's 1968 Volkswagen, Emma.

What I needed in my projects was a solid oldstyle serif typeface with impact for heads. I had an old engraving font, which I’d never really finished. It happened to be built on the Minister/Diaconia base drawings I used to create Biblia Serif, so I took a shot at it. It’s wide enough to minimize the large solid ink shapes of many of the bolder display headline faces. It’s not readable, but it’s very legible. This is exactly what I needed for headlines, callouts, and special subheads. It uses the same vertical metrics of the Biblia Serif book Production Group It helps keep fiction designs comfortable

Because ebooks will not normally accept .otf fonts, and they don't support Opentype features, this font family was designed to be used for the ebook conversions of print books. It uses old style figures. The italics are slanted a bit more. And Heavy is a little bolder than the bold in Contenu Book.

Part of the Zoot Suite of offbeat handwriting fonts, Herringbone is based on a fast and sloppy formal script the designer has been using since he was a child. For use when handwriting fonts are too informal and script fonts too formal. Herringbone is a happy medium. For a bolder look, try Houndstooth.

Warning: This font is a large file size for a font. I highly recommend (on a Windows computer) installing it via the alternative method of dragging the TTF file into your C:/windows/fonts folder instead of clicking on the TTF file and clicking "install" on the preview window. Thin strokes, an Art Deco feel and useful in both text and display work... that's Stylor JNL by Jeff Levine. Inspired by various designs of the past, this is Jeff's personal take on a classy form of Deco lettering. Stylor Demi JNL is a bolder weight version of this popular monoline font.

Sitting in a diner and looking upon a wall full of nostalgia, there hangs a picture of another older diner in some Northern city. The lettering from it's rooftop sign almost screams "Make a font out of this!"... so Jeff Levine did... "Hash and Beans JNL".

No telling how old this font is, because it came from Hamilton, a firm that was late in the wood type business, but was the repository of many older patterns from earlier wood type makers. Great circus look to it. Some missing characters drawn at Solotype.

A cykelsmed in Danish is a bicycle repair man. This quirky font was more or less based on an older font of mine called Pinkus. It is a jumpy, happy book cover font and comes with a bunch of ligatures and all the diacritics you’ll probably need.

An old ad for Cointreau Triple Sec Liquor featured a bolder variant of the lettering style found in a set of vintage tin stencils that were the model for French Stencil JNL. This is now available as Belle Epoque Stencil JNL, in both regular and oblique versions. “Belle Epoque” means “beautiful era” in French.

Autumn is my favourite time of the year: I love the colors in the forest, the colder temperature and the stormy winds. Autumn Voyage is a very nice set of hand made fonts: a fat one, a thin one and a lovely autumn leaves doodle pack. Comes with a heap of diacritics as well.

Handy Dandies JNL is a third collection from Jeff Levine Fonts of pointing hands along with a few card holders thrown in for good measure. The images were re-drawn from vintage source material and these embellishments (also known as "Printer's Fists" or "Bishop's Fists") will enhance wood type projects as well as contemporary designs.

Welcome Amica Pro, a workhorse sans designed to give your branding a friendly, approachable look. What is it that makes a typeface friendly? Eclectotype undertook extensive research* in this and the results are in! To cut a long story short, friendliness in sans serif fonts can be summed up in two words – short and fat. Basically, think Danny DeVito in letter form. The shortness in Amica Pro is achieved (somewhat counterintuitively) by pushing up the x-height. This, coupled with short ascenders and descenders, gives the text a squat appearance. For the fatness, that's easy in the bolder weights, but how to carry this through to the lights? Here, the fatness equates to roundness, so the letterforms, even if the stroke weight is light, have a rotund appearance from the wideness and roundness of the circular glyphs. When thinking about friendliness, we think about inclusiveness. To this end, Amica Pro supports a super wide range of latin-based languages, as it uses Underware's Latin Plus character set, as well as extra support for Vietnamese. Amica Pro is best used for branding, logos, infographics etc. It will give your UI a friendlier feel, but that doesn't mean it's not serious. There are many useful typographic features, including alternates, numerous figure styles, automatic fractions and case-sensitive forms. The italics are carefully optically corrected "sloped romans" and as such they are the same width as their upright equivalent, so changing your copy to italics will not mess around with the spacing. *I looked at a few fonts and drew some lazy conclusions.
