Neo Contact is the typeface used on the packaging of Marlboro cigarettes (Marlboro “Reds,” the main line of the brand). The typeface is bold and condensed, designed in the Egyptienne style. Egyptienne types were first designed in the 1800s, as type founders - especially in the westward-expanding United States - began to dream up newer, bolder styles of letters for advertising usage. During the 1800s, it became increasingly important for businesses to set themselves, and their products, apart from competitors. This desire has remained with corporations, as well as with advertisers and designers, into the 21st century. In addition to cigarette packaging, Neo Contact (as part of Marlboro’s branding efforts) can be seen on numerous items, including Ferrari’s F1 racers, and at Formula 1 race tracks. The letters in Neo Contact are filled with personality. Their forms display two distinct weights of line, and the serifs are made up of tiny, strict slabs. Ball terminals round out the design. Neo Contact is a complete font, with a complete western character set. Typefaces in the Egyptienne style preceded the development and distribution of larger, crazier wood typefaces, but also share many similarities with these descendents. More traditional, text faces in the Egyptienne manner are also available from Linotype GmbH (e.g., Adrian Frutiger’s Egyptienne F). On the opposite end of the spectrum, we offer interesting, personality-filled wood display types, like Ponderosa as well.

Since many years I live in Munich and read the daily newspaper Abendzeitung. One morning they had redesigned the paper, using Eric Gill's Joanna for the body copy and a tweaked version of Franklin Gothic for the headlines. Since both typefaces are my all-time favorites, I was very pleased. The old hand-lettered title lettering designed by in-house designer Ernst Friedrich Adler around 1947 or 48 was untouched as it always was. Adler had worked for the newspaper an incredible 47 years! Ernst Friedrich Adler celebrated his 100th birthday in the summer of 2007 looking very healthy. But someone had adapted his title lettering for use in the chapter headings, and I did not like the way that was done. Every morning I saw those letters and thought "one day I have to clean that up". About 15 years later I finally did it! Being at it, I designed the whole typeface and added a second fancy cut. And, what do you know, the people at the Abendzeitung called me up and said they liked what I did and started using it. So since that day in 2005 I can read my morning paper without having to wonder about the chapter headings. Nagel is a contemporary uniwidth display sans serif for headlines and short texts. It’s a closed low-contrast typeface with an emphasis on stroke joints. The length of the line set in Nagel remains the same in all weights. Nagel has all the advantages of monospaced typeface graphics, but none of their functional disadvantages. Characters in Nagel are made monospace-like wide, as opposed to traditionally narrow characters of proportional fonts, and often have slab serifs. Letters of monospaced fonts that have to be narrowed down considerably, have the usual width here. The scope of Nagel is branding and identity of IT companies, infographics, scientific and technical documentation — any areas where a technical, modern typeface with distinctive graphics may be required. The typeface includes three upright styles — Regular, Medium, Bold; two sets of 11 and 18 slanting degrees and a variable version with two axes: Weight and Slant. The character set includes extended Cyrillic and Latin alphabets, arrows, triangular bullets, index numbers and fractions. Designed by Alexander Lubovenko.

First presented by the Bauer Type Foundry in 1928, Futura is commonly considered the major typeface development to come out of the Constructivist orientation of the Bauhaus.movement in Germany. Paul Renner (type designer, painter, author and teacher) sketched the original drawings and based them loosely on the simple forms of circle, triangle and square. The design office at Bauer assisted him in turning these geometric forms into a sturdy, functioning type family, and over time, Renner made changes to make the Futura fonts even more legible. The concept was a "back to basics", minimalist typeface constructed mainly with straight lines and circles or circular arcs, but without departing from the classical style of Roman & Greek lettering. Notable requirements were: an extensive character set needed for multi-language documentation, as well as a full collection of symbols and alternate glyph forms (e.g. superiors & inferiors) for scientific use. Special care was taken to obviate the almost identical similarities that were prone to appear between letters like uppercase "i" and lowercase "L" or between Latin and Greek letters such as "a" and "alpha". This was also a prerequisite for scientific notation where ambiguity is not acceptable. All in all, the font would have to blend a modern design with a wealth of functional features. Consequently, all of these were made possible by choosing the OpenType format for development, resulting in a comprehensive and feature-rich font family specifically targeted for use in high-end design/typesetting applications.

The name ‘Linkus’ makes reference to the internet and its power to unite humanity, as well as to Linkus’ distinctive design, where the whole character is unified by a single, unbroken line – without sacrificing its elegance and readability. Linkus is based on the aesthetic decision of having a single, unsplit line forming every character, with a smooth transition of the different line directions, in order to strenghten the unity of form and create a singular fluxus throughout the glyph. Different from most other futuristic fonts (e.g. Slazer), who have an aggressive look, Linkus has a more sensible, refined aura. Esteric, originally created with a concept of happiness, fun and playful. Designed initially as an all-caps font. Lowercase are just slightly lower than Capitals. Also, Esteric is created with some OpenType features, such as stylistic alternates, interlocks, and tons of ligatures. Joy and Playful guaranteed! What is interlock? When you are using the stylistic of a rounded letter O and meet another letter with stylistic rounded forms like C and G, glyphs define the space and merged like a ligature. Best scene for using Esteric place like a Party, Happy Events, Fun projects. Any media is suitable based on the concept. But Esteric won’t fit with an serious type of project.
