SALO – is a hybrid of two Italian typographic worlds. The serif version refers to the beautiful and sophisticated typefaces found on the signs of cafes, restaurants, and fashionable boutiques. Its complemented by the sans variant, inspired by Italian modernism and road signage. All styles are based on the same core but with a totally different expressions. The biggest challenge during the project was designing all of the glyphs compatible to work as a 100% variable font. In the OTF version, SALO has 4 varieties: Serif, Semi Serif, Semi Sans and Sans. The family of these typefaces is suitable both for posters, magazine headlines, and branding purposes where the character will count. It is worth experimenting and combining different varieties with each other. (This font cannot be used to create a logo with the phrase "FRANCO").

Ioana came about as a direct result of 3 previous, private commissions that were all based on an artists hand-writing. For Ioana, I wanted a more regimented (but not boring) sans serif that could be used for headlines, posters and flyers with larger body text. It is the lighter weight of Ioana and has a full character set as well as ligatures, small caps, superiors, inferiors, numerators, denominators, old style figures and auto-fractions. Dean Martin starred in four movies as Matt Helm, the titular character in a series of spy novels by Donald Hamilton. Martin’s version of the government counter-agent followed his TV persona – a fun-loving ladies man who (in this case) just happened to be a spy. The movie poster for 1966’s “The Silencers” has its title hand lettered in an extra bold sans serif stencil style. This is now available as Spy Stencil JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

This series of faces was designed initially by Morris Fuller Benton, circa 1900. The design is a refinement of Taylor Gothic from 1897. It features a sans serif thick and thin design with angular stems. Pre-dating art deco, this design feels quaint, yet it still has a touch of modernism. Frederic Goudy designed a bold version of Globe Gothic in 1905 for ATF. The Bold and Bold Italic digital versions have been added to the LTC library in early 2007.

Almanach is a multifunctional, sans-serif font, suitable for a wide range of applications. The universality is it’s strength, but it is not impersonal. It’s character can be felt in the delicately softened endings of letters and in the dancing numbers. The italics is designed in compliance with the rules adequate to the italian sherif typefaces. There's an appealing quirkiness about Amrys, which offers a confidently unusual alternative to more conventional designs. Its charm lies in its tapering tips, flexing stems, and unexpected notches, which combine to suggest something of the chiseller's tool at work. As a modulated serif, its letter shapes live between serif and sans serif, lending the design a sense of pleasing irregularity – something that's really highlighted at larger sizes. However this is also a typeface that works for text, injecting rhythm and texture into reading. “It's distinctive, idiosyncratic, and weird,” says its designer, Ben Jones. He started designing Amrys while studying an MA at Reading University, creating it in response to a brief for a magazine typeface. Amrys features an extensive and impressive character set. In addition to Latin, Amrys covers several scripts including Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic and Armenian. The family consists of 8 weights, from Light to Black, with matching italics.

Pill Gothic walks the tightrope between a heads down, hard working, utilitarian sans and something that stands out, saying, "Look at me!"
