Habana Vieja is inspired by hand-painted signage in Havana’s old town. Letters are defined by their drop-shadow and worn outlines; suggestive of a sunny environment. Cycles was designed for use in books and other publications with lengthy texts and/or complex typography using different sizes of type. Different versions of Cycles have been designed which are optimized for setting at specific point sizes as was the practice in the days of metal type. Together with Stone Print, SFPL, and Arepo it makes up a superfamily of typefaces.

In the March 16, 1936 edition of “The Film Daily” (a trade publication for the film industry) the magazine ran an ad for its Year Book. The ad was set in a slab serif typeface similar to popular designs such as Karnak, Stymie, Beton and the like. Redrawn digitally as Trade Paper JNL, it is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Some time ago, I started to think about the idea of combining my passionate hobby cooking with my profession as a graphic designer. While browsing through cooking books, cooking magazines and graphic publications I noticed that there were no symbols and drawings easily recognizable for interested cooks (hobby or professional). So I decided to create symbols for all the classical cooking paraphernalia still found in grand mother’s kitchen cabinet. René Menue Symbol contains 99 kitchen symbols of classical design and quality. Veneribe -the Venerable face- is an experiment in what many today might call 'grunge', though we at Greater Albion would probably prefer to talk of rustic (or if we're feeling really old-fashioned rustick) charm. It's a derivative of our Clementhorpe family, and aims to combine a battered antique look with the charm of that decorative Roman family. Regular and oblique forms are offered.

Squeezed is the result of exploring mid 20th Century sans serif typefaces. As the name suggest, the typeface is indeed condensed which is also a solid part of its personal and friendly charactar. It was first designed to fit for custom book cover projects, but now released for the public. Squeezed is best suited for display solutions, but could sometimes work in minor sizes.

The Weidemann typeface's original name was Biblica, which was designed for the collaborative publication of a Bible by the German Catholic and Protestant Churches. The mass of text which the face was intended to set required that the design allow many characters to fit onto one line without rendering the words illegible. Thus, narrow spacing does not compromise the legibility or the elegance of Weidemann.

Ubiquity: the possibility to be in several places at the same time; this could be the definition of a typeface like Ubik. Its applications are numerous and various: books, magazines, posters but also architecture and signs. Ubik is a grotesk sans serif with a “nordic taste”: shapes pure and somewhat square. The nonexistent contrast between thin and thick strokes gives it a discreet rustic look.

The original intent for Thinset was to be used strictly as a display font only, but this single weight typeface can at times work great as a body of text as well. It's a clean, legible, and light font which is ideal for publications like fashion and editorial magazines. In addition to ligatures and fractions, Thinset’s other OpenType features include old style numbers and small caps.

Titling Gothic FB is an immense series of nearly fifty styles inspired by that century-old favorite ATF Railroad Gothic. Led by the Los Angeles Times and Gentleman’s Quarterly, U.S. publications are using David Berlow’s series to unify the structure of headlines from its wide spectrum of options. Titling Gothic FB started as a relative of Berlow’s Rhode family, but took its own direction; FB 2005

Rustika is a rather rough Oldstyle typeface. The roughness is seen in larger points only. In smaller points it is not easy to see that I tried to imitate characters cut with a chisel. The characters themselves follow otherwise totally the classic models. The name, in this spelling taken from Esperanto, refers to the rustic nature of the characters. Rustika was released in 1995.

During trips to the Miami Beach Public Library as a youth, Jeff Levine first caught sight of the signs made with a product called the Webway Sign Cabinet, manufactured by the Holes- Webway company of St. Cloud, MN. Having purchased an old set, Jeff has carefully re-drawn the alphabet and unique contrasting numbers from the original assortment, adding in an extended character set to his font.

Many alphabet style examples from the Speedball Textbook on pen lettering have offered amateurs and professionals a source of inspiration since its first publication in 1915. A 1940s edition presented a simple sans serif design rendered with the style ‘B’ round nib pen point, and has been recreated as the digital type face Pen Sans Rounded JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.
