K-Block was inspired by a hand-lettered sign by a young lady by the name of Kristina Lee. It captures a light-hearted, youthful feeling and is not intended to be taken too seriously. It was drawn for fun and is fun to use. Its very inconsistency insists on being casual and relaxed. Probably better for a birthday party announcement than a bank letterhead. Can you imagine a Just-For-Fun National Bank? K-Block Solid compliments K-Block and provides a stronger presence when required. For two-color work, K-Block can be layered on top of K-Block Solid to provide a different color outline for a very effective presentation. Full Western European character set plus alternate g and y, as well as a Th ligature. If you have a drawing program like Corel Draw, you can easily convert the alternate g and y to curves and stretch out the tails to underline an entire word. Moron is a distinctive and idiosyncratic display typeface: a winsome-but-nasty, old-and-yet-new drawing of Victorian sans-serif letterforms (with some 1970s sausage fonts thrown in). Moron started life as a sans-serif redrawing of Nylon but developed into a unique typeface with a character all its own. It is based, very loosely, upon Victorian Tuscan and Grotesque type found in the churches and cemeteries of the city of Glasgow. These letterforms originated before the dawn of modernism and at a time when the Arts and Crafts Movement was flourishing. In this age of early mass production and mechanisation, the Victorian ability to balance functionality with ornamentation had fascinating results. The typography of that period displays a unique combination of industrial heft and romantic decoration.

I was inspired to create the Rainier type family during my summer back home in the Pacific Northwest. The concept behind it may be simple - a hand crafted font family - but what it delivers is quite complex! Here is a breakdown of everything you get: FONT FAMILIES: Two sub-families with unique styles - Rainier North and Rainier West WEIGHTS: 4 weights per family, broken down numerically - 100 (light), 300 (regular), 500 (bold), 700 (black) OPENTYPE: In each family, there are tons of OpenType options, offering lots of customizable opportunities (in order to access all these goodies, you must be using Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign or Publisher). Breve was designed for use in editorial projects. Simple but with enough personality to stand by is own, in a quest for a more forceful and contemporary appearance. All the fonts in Breve superfamily, share the same exact structure, both in terms of anatomy and functionality. The Text versions provide a softer and warm feel to the typographic palette and is intended for use in much longer passages of text, while the Title versions are distinguished by non-descending letterforms, making the titles and headlines much more uniform and interesting. The News version is more classic, with ball terminals and classic proportions, while the Display is, somehow, the set of fonts we had to design: extra-black, ultra-contrasted, proud-display fonts.

Recently the Rogue family was designed as an accompaniment to Paralucent for Loaded, London's notorious lads-mag that had found its design being cloned by the competition and sought something unique to set it apart.

The Fresh Prince Graffiti Font was sketched with a standard felt tip marker - Street Style. We had the idea to this after some beers and the discussion about the wackness of the most Graff Fonts.

Abagail Jackson is a wild-looking face that was one of my early designs. I had no particular use in mind when I designed it and I no longer remember what inspired this whimsical font.

But, like its machinery-contraption namesakes Doohickey and Framistat, Whatchamacallit has a lively personality -- the strokes are a little wavy, the ends a bit bulbous, and the circles are like little loaves of bread, rising in the Whatchamacallit's oven... delicious!
