Albertus® Nova is a faithful digital revival of Berthold Wolpe’s earlier design of Albertus and is one of the five designs in The Wolpe Collection of typefaces. This new design enlarges the typeface set from its previous two weights into a robust set of five ranging from thin to black, all with extended language support including Cyrillic and Greek. Berthold Wolpe began working on Albertus in 1932, at the encouragement of Stanley Morison. Morison saw an example of Wolpe’s engraved lettering and liked it so much that he commissioned a typeface based on the design. Since then, the original Albertus typeface has been used on book covers, in branding, on signs and in video games.

Aceituna means ‘olive’ in Spanish. It comes from the Arabic Al-Zeitoun. I am multi-tasking today: finishing this font and thinking about what to cook for my family tonight (yes, I am the one who cooks!). We normally eat Asian food, but I was toying with the idea of serving something Mediterranean and realised we had run out of olives. So there you have it: the super simple trick of naming a new font! But enough of cooking: Aceituna font was made with a Japanese brush pen. It is a very versatile font: tall and thin, elegant and a little messy. A hint of texture and, like olives, it goes with almost anything.

Modérnica is a sans serif type including roman & oblique styles in 9 weights. Originally published in 2014, then in 2020 we released version 2.0, in which we expanded the language coverage and character set, adding a new Fat weight, tabular figures, smart fractions & arrows. We’ve improved the OpenType features adding new Stylistic Sets. Besides this, we have retuned the letters spacing in the whole family. Seeking for the best performance, we added a bit of spacing between letters in the text versions (middle weights from Book to Bold), while as for the display variants (extreme weights from Thin to Fat) we made them gain space in the light versions and loose it in the blacks.

This forerunner of Helvetica made its debut as Breite Grotesk in the 1886 specimen book of the Schelter & Giesecke foundry in Leipzig. This classic face still retains its freshness, even after more than a century. Both versions of this font contain the complete Latin A Extended character set, as well as extended ligatures and fractions.

This typeface takes its design cues from Dudley Upright, a Dan X. Solo find from the sixties. This version is considerably wider than the original, which increases its legibility while retaining its flower-power vibe. Chucara next is the newest font designed by Juan Pablo De Gregorio, a typeface aimed at high readability when set in paragraphs or large chunks of text. Its predecessor "Chúcara", born in 2003, sought after increasing readability by achieving big and simple counterforms. This time around Juan Pablo went further by increasing the X-height and trimming both ascenders and descenders, thus the font appears to be much larger than it is and can be readable at smaller sizes. The DNA of the whole font is marked by the terminal of the "a" character. Juan Pablo used a specially crafted cut to design this counterform, and this shape together with the graceful and winding forms of the letter resembles the form of a horse, hence the name Chúcara, or untamed. The italic version has a 10-degree angle and a 10% condensation, making it way more streamlined than a regular italic font. The Philosophy of a larger counterform is maintained through and through in the italic variant. This version looks different not only due to its inclination, but the sheer effort put into carefully taking care of the condensation and the gestures allow the italic to enrich the texts gracefully, for the highlighting of the words stands out without affecting the grey of the paragraph. Eksja is a modern slab serif available in four weights, each with a corresponding italic. All the fonts in the family have small caps, the extended latin character set, diacritical f-ligatures, enclosed numerals (numbers in circles) and case-sensitive punctuation. The general design of the typeface has been with a strong human touch in mind. The ends of the serifs have been given a subtle rounding, just enough to take the edge off which, when coupled with the largely humanist structure of the design, creates an open, friendly and approachable design, abandoning the usual geometric severity commonly associated with slab serif typefaces. Eksja contains quite a comprehensive numerals system. Obviously, each font has the standard proportionally and tabularly spaced lining and old-style figures but, crucially, the tabular numerals share the exact same width in each font variant.
