Amarone is a spiky calligraphic display typeface with some old fashioned flavour. It was designed by Carl Crossgrove, and includes an extensive set of swash caps which allow for extra drama where needed. Crossgrove wrote each of Amarone's letters by hand using pen and rough paper, and has retained some of this visual texture in the final digital design. The typeface works well at small sizes, but when used at larger sizes this texture comes to the fore. Amarone's elegant, formal character can be modified with its swash caps, which allow the typeface to move from prim and ordered to wildly expressive. Amarone lends itself well to packaging, posters and editorial usage – or in any environment where designers need to evoke times gone by. Crypt is a seemingly lovely font that will look good in just about any design. But if you take a closer look, then Crypt is actually quite a scary font: it has jagged edges and a sinister undertone, making the letters jump from your computer and eat you alive! Whoohahaha…!! First of all, I don’t have an uncle called Edward, nor do I know anyone by that name. When I had finished this font, it had a strong ‘Uncle Edward’ feeling to it, so the name stuck. Uncle Edward is a handmade script font. I used a Japanese brush pen and some rough paper to create that ‘vintage’ look. Use Uncle Edward for your book covers, your invitations or your product packaging. Create labels for your vintage record collection with it, or print a guest list for your Christmas dinner party. Legestue is danish and means playroom. But perhaps that translation is too direct. Legestue is a place where you can come with your kids and play with other kids. Kinda like a kindergarten, but in much smaller scale. I attended a Legestue when my kids were like 2 years old. But that's a looong time ago! I like the idea of just dropping by and see who's playing and who's around. And the same goes for this font - each letter is off and different, and quite playful. Also, the letters has a crunchy outline, which made me think of some of the cookies I ate at the Legestue :)

I recently bought a small, portable speaker. I can now listen to music when I am making fonts! Output Volume is a name I came up with after reading the quick start guide that came with the speaker. Output Volume is a 100% handmade display font - it was based on a protest sign, but after a few glyphs it started to morph into something unique. I created 2 sets of contextual alternates (including the most used accented glyphs), that will cycle as you type. I also added some discretionary ligatures, to get an even more random effect. Output Volume comes with a vast array of accented letters, including Vietnamese.

Plywood is based on a long lost American film classic: Franklin Typefounders's Barker Flare from the early 1970s. Food Truck package is a wonderful set of fonts. During my recent trip to Japan, I stumbled upon a food truck / street food festival in Nara. Besides drinking the best cup of coffee ever (seriously, it was THAT good!), I got the idea of creating a font package based on the various handwritten signs I saw at the festival. Food Truck package consists of a fat headline font, a couple of outlined fonts, a great chalkboard font, a rather messy script font and a whole bunch of food-related doodles.
