Vaquero is a Wild West style font. It is characteristic of a lot of western era signage, with super-narrow characters and unusual decorative spurs and serifs. There are some similarities in Vaquero to some of our other western fonts. It sort of ties together the historic tradition of western era type and the more fanciful tradition of romantic type derived from the era of the wild west. It has the width, height and general letter shapes of Academy, but the decorative elements are similar to more fanciful fonts like Riudoso. The result is very evocative of the old west.

Cyan Neue is a substantial update variation to the original Cyan we launched in 2006. Most notably the contrast has decreased making it more contemporary. Many glyphs have been improved especially in the italics. The design of Cyan Neue was inspired by features found in classic Roman. It shows a preference for geometric Roman proportions while incorporating open centers (B,P,R) and compact serifs. The characters stay true to the same features as the capitals, resulting in an unusually distinctive style. There are many subtle details in Cyan Neue that become more interesting in display sizes, for instance the subtle curves in the serifs and the overall smoothness. Schotis Text is a workhorse typeface designed for perfect reading on running texts. Its design is based in Scotch Roman 19th-century style but designed from scratch, with a more contemporary and not nostalgic look. It has seven weights plus matching italics, with 1100 glyphs per font, with a very extended character set for Latin based languages as well as Vietnamese, and shows all its potential with OpenType-savvy applications. Every font includes small caps, ligatures, old-style, lining, proportional and tabular figures, superscript, subscript, numerators, denominators, and fractions. The Scotch Romans were one of the most used letters during the 19th and early 20th century, but they don’t have their own place in the main typographical classifications. They appeared at the beginning of the 19th century with Pica No. 2 in the catalog of William Miller (1813) and assumed the British route towards high contrast and vertical axis modern Romans. In fact, they were called just Modern. In opposition to the continental route of Fournier, Didot, and Bodoni, the English way opted for a wider, more legible letter also resistant to bad printing conditions. The name Schotis comes from the misspelling of Scottish that gave the name to a popular dance in Madrid in the 19th-century. It first was called Schotis and today is knows as Chotis.

ITC Legacy¿ was designed by American Ronald Arnholm, who was first inspired to develop the typeface when he was a graduate student at Yale. In a type history class, he studied the 1470 book by Eusebius that was printed in the roman type of Nicolas Jenson. Arnholm worked for years to create his own interpretation of the Jenson roman, and he succeeded in capturing much of its beauty and character. As Jenson did not include a companion italic, Arnholm turned to the sixteenth-century types of Claude Garamond for inspiration for the italics of ITC Legacy. Arnholm was so taken by the strength and integrity of these oldstyle seriffed forms that he used their essential skeletal structures to develop a full set of sans serif faces. ITC Legacy includes a complete family of weights from book to ultra, with Old style Figures and small caps, making this a good choice for detailed book typography or multi-faceted graphic design projects. In 1458, Charles VII sent the Frenchman Nicolas Jenson to learn the craft of movable type in Mainz, the city where Gutenberg was working. Jenson was supposed to return to France with his newly learned skills, but instead he traveled to Italy, as did other itinerant printers of the time. From 1468 on, he was in Venice, where he flourished as a punchcutter, printer and publisher. He was probably the first non-German printer of movable type, and he produced about 150 editions. Though his punches have vanished, his books have not, and those produced from about 1470 until his death in 1480 have served as a source of inspiration for type designers over centuries. Main Street is a revival of the old font Soutache, the original version of this decorative alphabet was created in 1873 by Julius Herriet, a type designer active during the period marked by the Western expansion. Life is an elegant roman face, designed by W. Bilz and developed by Francesco Simoncini at Ludwig & Mayer in 1964. It is a contemporary design based on the Transitional designs of the eighteenth century. The Life font can be used for almost any kind of copy. Life is especially suitable for newspapers, both in editorial and advertising due to its high degree of legibility.

Digitized handwriting fonts are a perfect way to give documents the “very special touch”. Invitations look simply better when handwritten than when printed in bland Arial or Times New Roman. Short handwritten notes look authentic and appealing. Peanut is a face full of bounce and playfulness but is based on the traditions of the long revered Roman minuscule. The letters are unique in that they imply “youth” without relying on cliché child-like letterforms. Peanut and Peanut Sans come in a ‘Salted’ style which features many alternate letterforms. Both the Salted and regular styles are combined into in the Pro fonts.

Zenon is a compact text font in four weights. Zenon is a sum of different styles, from Francesco Griffo to Granjon, from modern typefaces to the first sketches of Times New Roman. Zenon is an apparently Renaissance revival with modernish proportions. A closer look reveals that it is a typographic potpourri. Zenon was design as part of the MATD program at the University of Reading.

This lettering style is unusual in that combines aspects of several lettering styles. It is essentially a Germanic Blackletter but with many romanized capital letters and also features an italic slant along with some italic lower case traits. It is evocative of “old world” craftsmanship and early 20th century romanticism. The font was developed based on the logo of the Lakin Company of Buffalo, NY circa 1900.

Flavium is the reconstruction of the typographic character used in the engravings of the marble street name sign of Rome from about 1970 until the end of the eighties. It is an uniquely uppercase Roman font whose letters are confined within the space between the baseline and the caps line. Its style is severe but elegant, very useful for expressing authority and officialdom with simplicity.

While designing Trajan, Carol Twombly was influenced by the style of carved letters produced by the Romans during the first century AD. Twombly completed the design, adding numerals and punctuation, as well as a bolder version to allow for text emphasis. Most importantly, her interpretation of the ancient style resulted in a font family whose clarity and beauty come across in modern printed materials.

Because of the need for a new condensed serif font family, Jack Yan created this individualistic style of typefaces complete with one of the largest collections of unusual ligatures available at the time of launch in the mid-1990s. As well as the usual selection of double-f and ct, JY&A has provided gr, gt, ty, and other ligatures for JY Integrity Roman and Italic.

This font provides a typical set of characters for the ancient Nabataean language, used in what is now Jordan and adjoining regions during the period of the Roman Empire, based on lapidary letter-forms of the first century of the present era. It includes a full set of alphabetic characters as well as the ancient numeral forms, with ligatures and variant shapes for some numerals.

Matita Geometric is part of a larger type family developed from 2005-2019 with handwriting and teaching in mind. A humanistic geometric sans serif in five weights containing mathematical symbols, roman numerals, fractions, superior-& inferior numerals, tabular & proportional figures. The family share proportions and weights to ensure all fonts (family members) work together well. Matita Geometric is also a very basic typeface suitable for many purposes.

Quanta was designed without reference to existing sansserif faces. As an original design, Quanta draws on principles of letterform developed during my studies of lettercarving (in Wales with Ieuan Rees) and Roman proportion. My intention was to produce a highly legible and adaptable sans-serif, initially intended to be a TrueType GX font, then as a Multiple Master font, later as a five weight range from extremely thin to extra black. A related uncial design will be released shortly.

Chank created Zsazsa Galore as a fresh alternative to Mister Frisky, another jerky, hypercaffeinated interpretation of the traditional roman alphabet. The difference this time is that the new font has no descenders. Every letter comes to rest hard on the baseline. It sits there firmly rooted with branches wiggling around in the air. It was released as the Chank Font of the Month in October 1999 and it was named after Zsa Zsa Gabor because she is beautiful.

Jason Uncial, a unicase font, was created by Dutch designer Coen Hofmann. Uncial hand writing began to spread in Europe at the time of the late Roman Empire (200 A.D.). It influenced both the Carolingian Minuscule as well as our present lower case letter forms. Uncial fonts are still very much in use. It is used for headlines, display, titles, certificates, and not surprisingly, very much in Ireland or for anything with a Gaelic/Irish or Celtic touch.

Badr is a traditional-style Arabic text typeface with two weights: Badr Light and Badr Bold, and include Latin glyphs (Cochin Roman and Bold), allowing a single font to set text in both most Western European and Arabic languages. The two Badr fonts incorporate the Basic Latin and the Arabic character sets, which support Arabic, Persian, and Urdu. They include tabular and proportional Arabic, Persian, and Urdu numerals, as well as a set of tabular European (Latin) numerals.
