K-haus 205 is inspired by the work of graphic designer and typographer, Herbert Bayer, during his time at the Bauhaus around 100 years ago — work that kick-started graphic design as we know it, to this day. It owes something to the simple geometry of Bayer’s hand-drawn, ‘universal typeface’, updated and expanded to deliver a clean, balanced, geometric sans for today. Also available as K-haus 105 , featuring a few different characters here and there, chiefly in the lower case set. Both variations include an extended character set, featuring accented characters for Central European languages.

Suti is a non-connected sign painters casual script with upper and lower cases. Suti was originally designed in 2010 but it was completely re-drawn in 2016. Casual lettering is a style sign painters use. Every sign painter has more or less their own style to make these letters. The casual alphabets are painted with speed and they don’t need to line perfectly but letters are still clean and easy to read. Suti has smooth and round forms. Friendly and casual looks. This funny font was created inspired from a contract of sale for a field prepared by a French notary in the end of the year 1682 (December seventh). We have worked to transform the almost illegible original form into a contemporary usable typeface, but keeping the special "writhed" appearance. It is a "pro" font containing Western (including Celtic) Eastern and Central European, Icelandic, Baltic, and Turquish diacritics. The numerous OTF alternates and ligatures(about 5 different glyphs or ligatures for almost each basic lower case letter) made the font looking like a real various hand as closely as we can do it.

Breitkopf Fraktur was designed by Johann Gottlob Immanuel Breitkopf (1719-1794), the well-known type designer and printer of Leipzig. Breitkopf's high reputation is based on a system of printing musical notes which was developed by him. 1793, in the final stage of his life, he designed this beautiful broken script named after himself.Breitkopf Fraktur is classified as broken", something created by the German renaissance. Broken, because all round parts of the lower case characters in such typefaces look broken.Ralph M. Unger redrew and digitized this font exclusively for profonts in 2003. His work is based on artwork taken from old font catalogues."

Gageac is a classic "Didona" font, characterized by an extreme contrast in the thick and thin strokes, by the use of short serifs, and by the vertical stress of the letters. This typeface is slightly condensed, the ascenders were lowered, the thick strokes were exaggerated and enriched with a full set of OpenType features of tails, ligatures, alternates and swashes, giving them an excellent legibility and a very clear and elegant appearance. 
The italic version is a true "italic" so some glyphs were adjusted. Gageac Italic was carefully designed and drawn to be combined with Gageac Regular.

Rapier, designed by Martin Wait for ITC in 1989, is an impulsive, energetic script font with strong ties to the brush and advertisement typefaces of hte 1940s. The zestful capitals contrast with small, narrow lower case letters, lending the font its dynamism and liveliness. Desinger Wait reached the energetic, almost aggressive feel of Rapier with snappy base forms and especially with ascending strokes. For an optimal look it is advisable to set Rapier's forms near to one another, so that the ends of the strokes of one figure touch the beginning of the next. Rapier is best used for headlines and short texts.

Newsprint JNL has its origins in an online auction image of wood type. Only the lower case a-z were shown and the type design included an extra-wide 'g' and 's'. Expanding on this idea but narrowing the 's' a bit, Jeff Levine created a capitals set and all of the necessary additional characters - even adding a generous selection of accented characters not usually found in his display fonts. Regular, oblique, narrow, narrow oblique, wide and wide oblique versions are available. All styles offer crisp, clean lettering for headlines, window signage and other display text applications.

Greater Albion Has been toying with thoughts of a “unicase” typeface for a while. On the other hand we’ve always wondered just what practical use they are. It is also a while since we’ve introduced a ‘handwritten’ design. Therefore, It struck us that one answer was something ‘hand-lettered’. These days many people do write in a sort of informal unicase don’t they? But, at the same time, we wanted it to have a little character. So here it is, a bit calligraphic, with a touch of black-letter and a cunning mix of upper- and lower-case forms Uncia Black!

ITC Kumquat is the work of American designer Eric Stevens. He started with the logo for his company, Tower of Babel Design, and expanded upon the Mesopotamian look to create a typeface to match. Stevens imagined drawing figures in the sand with a stick and how this method would change the way one usually draws characters, usually with lines replacing curves. Most characters are slim but a few, like the uppercase A and L, were made to contrast with the rest. ITC Kumquat is a great display typeface for anything which should have an antiquated feel.""

Glitzy is a caps-only font with extreme contrast. It was inspired by Art Deco typefaces, especially Broadway by Morris Fuller Benton, but Glitzy is not an attempt to reproduce that typeface. The letters on the lower-case keys differ slightly from the letters on the upper-case keys. The large black interiors invite decoration and the family includes four faces with interior decoration. These four faces with interior decoration can be used in layers with the base font to add color to lettering. (OakPark is a another attempt to do high-contrast lettering with an Art Deco feel.)

Linotype Irish Text is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the contestants of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. German artist Torsten Weisheit designed this font based on Irish scripts of the 5th century. Characteristic of this style is the mixture of upper case letters in the mostly lower case alphabet and vice versa. The letters look as though written with a broad tipped pen and have triangular serifs, displaying a decorative tendency akin to that of Irish calligraphy. Linotype Irish Text is intended exclusivley for headlines in large point sizes.

The inspiration for Mimosa comes directly from the packaging for “Moulinard Jeune”, a line of French toiletries from the 1920s. I created the 240-odd glyphs needed to make up a complete font based upon the style of a handful of hand-lettered characters that were used on the original items. Mimosa is a mono-weight, connecting vertical script with a fairly regular set of lower case and slightly more decorative upper case glyphs. As with any decorative script, if you set copy in all caps, you will be tracked down and severely punished by the type police.

Linotype Scott Mars, from German designer Hellmut Bomm, is part of the TakeType Library, chosen from the entries of the Linotype-sponsored International Digital Type Design Contest 1999 for inclusion on the TakeType 3 CD. Bomm constructed this typeface from a consciously limited repertoire of forms, producing a strictly constructed font with a cool, technical look. Worthy of note are also the exalted numeral forms and the unusual size relation of the lower case and capital letters. Scott Mars is best used for headlines and short to middle length texts in point sizes of 10 or larger.

Designed by Gennady Fridman and released by ParaType in 2008. Hub represents so called block letter handwriting style, which becomes more and more usual and nowadays replaces traditional cursive handwriting. One of the reasons for these changes is an often requirement in official forms to write in block letters. Some forms contain even stricter rule – to write in capital letters. Hub was designed to meet these requirements and includes small caps instead of lower case letters. It’s recommended for use in advertising and display typography and especially when you need to show a sample of properly filled bureaucratic form.

I raise chickens for eggs and meat. I usually buy fertilised eggs online and place them in my incubator, which says that it is 'fully automatic'. Of course I added that rather random introduction to tell you how I came up with the name for this new font... Fully Automatic is a handmade cartoon font: I used a sharpie pen to draw the glyphs onto rough paper. The result is a wobbly, yet quite clean cartoon font. Leenyx is a geometric display font family and works best in display applications, such as posters, signage, logos and label. The Leenyx family comes in 2 versions: Leenyx AX and Leenyx BX. Aforo Display is a decorative font suitable for logos, headlines, packaging, signs, posters, postcards, labels, publishing, page design... The basis of the construction of the Aforo Display typeface is a slab serif font intertwined in four horizontal bars similar to the marquee letters of the old cinema/theatres. Hence its name: Aforo in Spanish is the capacity of spectators of a theater. The horizontal bars partially penetrate each character giving a sense of depth and the right and lower strokes are widened to simulate volume. It comes with four special characters to add start and end arrows, two versions for each element.

Huffer is a chunky and irregular sans-serif font (with a few serifs) that simulates the look of letters crudely cut out of paper. The basic letters were originally inspired by an early 1970s instructional filmstrip dealing with the dangers of glue sniffing. Further inspiration came from other sources of 1960s display lettering. The Mramor family first appeared in the Stormtype catalogue in 1994. The first sketch arose in 1988 through the narrowing of Roman capitals. Pooper Black Pro is based on a brush ethic and has an extreme axis that lends a certain amount of speed to the font while the lack of connectors slows it down. The pro version expands on the original and popular Pooper Black with the addition of full Central and Eastern European character sets and plenty of alternate characters for those who have applications that support Opentype features. Almost all of the lower case characters now include an in stroke and out stroke version for greater design flexibility. A wonderful face for packaging, titling, and short bursts of text.

I remember that my auntie once made a dish called ‘Macaroni and Smac’. It consisted of little ‘elbow’ macaroni, Spam (which in Holland was called Smac), cheese and ketchup. I am sure it didn’t contain on of your five a day, but it was delicious. As far as I know, I have eaten it only once, but it did make a lasting impression! Biscuits & Spam is a handmade ‘Western’ style font, which I found in my ‘unfinished fonts’ folder. It comes with multilingual support, a full set of alternates for the lower case letters and a really happy vibe.

Roadway is based on U.S. highway lettering observed on New York street signs. Two weights of capitals would often be used on the same sign, condensed for the main name, and a half-size regular superscript for ‘road’ or ’street’. Roadway is a Small Caps font. The upper case consists of condensed capitals, the lower case consists of regular width small caps, sized at 50% and superscript. A small superscript comma and period, aligned with the lowercase, are at keystrokes < and > respectively. A small hyphen lining with the superscript lowercase is at the en dash position (Mac: option hyphen, Windows: alt-0150).

The inspiration for this font came from a wall-writing in Cuba. At first glance we thought: "There is something wrong with the wall-writing." But a closer look revealed, that it just mixed up different stroke-styles. That "feature" became the designing principle behind CA Segundo: Round characters like O, U or C are available either with a fat or a thin stroke, whereas other characters with orthogonal lines come in two different styles – uppercase characters emphasize the vertical strokes, while lower cases emphasize the horizontal strokes. This gives you the opportunity to design just while you type.

“PGF Dinos” is a low contrast round typeface that resembles handmade American ‘Sign Painting’ in such the upper portion of the characters is bigger than the lower one, what gives the font a more playful and friendly personality. Another remarkable feature is its hooked terminals in characters such as C, G or S, heightening the differences between similar characters. “PGF Dinos” Family is composed of 10 different weights ranging from Hairline to Extra Black plus Italics and a full set of Dingbats. Early version was originallly called as “Globa” and was developed under the supervision of the Latinotype Team. Designer: Pedro González.

Frederic W. Goudy originally designed Pabst in 1902. This lettering was used by the Pabst Brewing Company for their promotional materials. It was later developed into type for ATF. Goudy later licensed Pabst Oldstyle to the Lanston Type Library. Lanston Pabst Oldstyle features several differences from the more familiar ATF version. Some caps are narrower while some lower case characters are wider than the ATF version. The descenders are also shorter in the Lanston version. Logotypes of italic words and, of, and the are included as originally designed as well as ligatures including the unusual tt ligature.

Brrrrr is supposed to represent snow-covered letters, though it could also be letters covered with frosting. The lower case letters are identical to the upper-case letters. Buried in the font is another set of letters on Christmas tree ornaments. (They are on unicode characters in the 2400 block, circled digits and letters. See here.) The OpenType Stylistic Sets feature makes accessing these letters easier than using unicode, and another font, InsideLetters-Christmas, develops them further. The Brrrrr-Icing style can be used in a layer over Brrrrr to give the snowcap any color, not just the background color.

Jobst Gutknecht was a highly successful printer in the city of Nuremburg from 1514 to 1542. He published the "Achtliederbuch" (the first Lutheran hymnal, with a whole 4 tunes) and many works by Martin Luther. This font is an accurate "recutting" of the font face Gutknecht used for the body text in his printed works. It has been extended to over 900 glyphs adding hundreds for modern use. It also presents many ancient things like old ligatures such as "tz", a hedera, and alternate style pilcrow for visual interest. And for those conservative types the modern lower case "k" is also available.
