Arcs for framing curved lines of text, in a style common on Victorian posters and almanac covers, and still seen on modern food packaging.

Zena is an Arabetic typeface design with visually connected glyphs, named for designer’s younger daughter, Zena, for her twelfth birthday. Zena follows the guidelines of the Mutamathil Taqlidi type style with one glyph for every basic Arabic Unicode character or letter, as defined in Unicode Standards, and one additional final form glyph for each Arabic letter that can connect with other letters from both sides in traditional cursive Arabic strings. Zena employs variable x-height values. It includes all required Lam-Alif ligatures and selected marks. Tatweel (or Kashida) glyph is a zero width space. Keying it before any glyph will display that glyph isolated form, if desired. Keying Tatweel before Alif Lam Lam Ha will display the Allah ligature. The Zena typeface family includes both Arabic and Arabic-Indic numerals; all required diacritic marks, in addition to Standard English keyboard punctuations and major currency symbols. Zena is available in regular and italic (slated to the left) styles.

Mezalia Sans is a logical continuation of the Mezalia family. Its shapes are based on medieval calligraphic style: the Bastarda. This time the evolution is taken a step further, as these classic shapes are merged with the straightforwardness of a modern sans-serif. This results in an original, strong yet very much usable typeface, that can hold its own in a wide range of applications. Mezalia Sans has two distinct styles: straight and cursive (true italic if you will, although the word is not really correct here), which come in ten weights, from thin to black. This wide range ensures that whether you are looking for delicate or bold strokes (or a combination of both) you will be satisfied. Every style also contains a set of small caps (with matching punctuation). Old-style, proportional and tabular numerals are included too, along with ligatures, symbols and language support in Adobe Latin 3 range.

When I first approached this design back in 2003 I wrote myself a design brief that called for a simple sans serif "avec serifs" (with serifs). Its emphasis needed to be on text usage but to be at home in display sizes. A range of weights with a controlled step from one weight to the next, uniform character sets, spacing and kerning throughout the range. Attention to openness of counter spaces would be paramount to work in text sizes. Matching italics should be true italics not merely slanted - with a cursive feel. During extensive testing I decided to include a suite of ligatures to eliminate the hairline gaps that occur between slab serifs at display sizes. The user may activate "Discretionary Ligatures" or "Stylistic Set 1" for ligatures that are not included in the Standard Ligatures (ff, fi, fl, ffi and ffl). Tipo Pèpel strikes again with a lush splurge on pure basic geometrical shapes and sizes, those that inspired Paul Renner’s typographic milestone “Futura”. A new look to classic shapes, bringing them back plenty of delightfullly details as the lowercase cursive forms’ long tiles that break the supposed linearity expected from a purely geometrical font. Rhythm given by hidden details in each character of each weight, push “Naste” out of German geometric sobriety, will help us to easily create typographic hierarchies upon the many weights available and the many and accurate details. Genesis is a digitization and expansion of a Frank Riley metal typeface called Grayda, originally published to much applause by ATF in 1939. The concept for this disconnected script is quite novel and original among cursives and calligraphic fonts: The minuscules are mostly made with slightly clubbed strokes, which becomes clearly visible in the ascenders and descenders. This alone gives the face a bubbly appearance unlike any other. The formula is completed with two sets of beautiful calligraphic majuscules and a few alternates. Loaded with personality and functionality, Cresta is built to look good while surviving the worst conditions. It is at home on screen and in a magazine. Its six weights are intended to be used everywhere. Unlike most typefaces, Cresta was built without a reference. For this project, everything design choice was based on what worked best for a workhorse sans serif family. Cresta was originally created as the primary typeface for this website. This meant it needed to work in copy, headlines, and navigation across all devices, browsers and operating systems. This meant it needed to be sturdy and have enough character to make it stand out from other UI typefaces. With its large x-height, ample counters, and giant apertures, Cresta is meant for easy utility in rough conditions. Even with all of this, that doesnít mean that its dull; as the weights increase, the style of Cresta becomes more appearant. This style is defined most apparently by the terminals on the lowercase r and the angle of the joins between the curved and straight strokes (such as in the connection on the n).

Aeron started with a no-nonsense geometric sans-serif structure that grew into a functional semi-serif family of fonts. Half-rounded slabs mix with curvy and squared-off terminals for a personable yet structured family that works in all sizes.

Linotype Maral is based on an historic Armenian typeface which was originally designed by Henrik Mnatsakanyan. Hrant Papazian has revieved and digitized this four weight type family . Armenian keyboard drivers for Mac OS 9 (and under) as well as for Windows are included when any of the Linotype Maral fonts are purchased. A mix of Renaissance & tropical atmosphere Basco is an exploration of the Renaissance style, a period in which letterforms were informed primarily by hand writing. It is clearly a contemporary interpretation of calligraphic shapes forms. The serifs are subtly asymmetrical. Slightly curved arches on the n, m and u are noticeable, creating an interesting tension in the text. Bruno Mello’s distinctive style is most obvious in his mastery of super fluid curves. It is a result of his extensive exploration of calligraphic forms, their tensions and dynamics, mixing angularities with curves. The roman weights include alternate swashes, as well as initial and terminal glyphs. This rough-and-ready display face is based on El Greco Antique, released by the Fundición Richard Gans of Madrid in the 1930s. Distressed but not distressing, rough yet charming, ragged around the edges but curiously refined. Named after a village in Greece which is the ancestral home of the forebears of the Curtii. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

Memoire is an elegant linear hairline contemporary sans. It is based on the underlying form of Vanitas, yet is rendered in a nearly monolinear hairline weight. Memoire is intended to be used selectively for headline use starting at 60pt and above. Stylistically, Memoire retains Vanitas’ alluring, sophisticated sensibility that is directly inspired by high fashion. Csemege is a fully cursive even script inspired by Hungary's 60' 70's shop signages of mostly food and grocery stores and restaurants, and their neon light scripts. Csemege means Delicatessen in Hungarian. I have developed this set of characters with Contextual alternates and a few Stylistic alternates to make the letter connections smooth and perfect. Xunga is a cheerful display typeface. My goal was to design a font able to fit any layout with boldness and playfulness, mixing a sign painter taste in the uppercase and some of my crappy calligraphic reverse contrast explorations with the flat brush for the lowercase. I designed several of widths to fit the page, and though about a different way of expanding the family shifting the horizontal stress axis to move the letter weight in different heights, making a 15 fonts family, suitable for making bold layouts. Xunga has an extended character set for European languages as well as Vietnamese, and shows all its potential with OpenType-savvy applications. Ceres is has its roots in Cyan, our other font family. Like Cyan, Ceres has a complementary lowercase that provides more versatility than a classic Roman. It is arguably more elegant than Cyan with its accentuated serifs. The lowercase "e" and "g" give Ceres a distinct calligraphic personality. Ceres, the font, derived its name from Ceres the Roman goddess. In Roman mythology, Ceres is the goddess of growing plants (particularly cereals) and of motherly love. Ceres was usually equated with the Greek goddess Demeter. Ceres was the daughter of Saturn and Ops, wife-sister of Jupiter, mother of Proserpina by Jupiter and sister of Juno, Vesta, Neptune and Pluto. Ceres made up a trinity with Liber and Libera, who were two other agricultural gods. She also had twelve minor gods who assisted her, and they were in charge of specific aspects of farming.

The Ayres Mono font is a clear and geometric mono-spaced font. It is easily legible and has Regular and Bold variants.
