Ad Hoc is a fake. My intention was to design a typeface with the looks of the characters drawn on paper with a marker pen. But they are all drawn on a monitor, with no scanner ever involved. That's the reason why they look so regular. Ad Hoc is Latin and stands for, approximately, for this reason". The expression itself is often used for something unplanned, improvised. Ad Hoc was released in 1992.

BC Away is a display typeface. It has emerged from the idea of drawing letterforms with a single-line path. Thanks to this idea, the characters are designed out of standard and conventional forms. Character designs are a combination of sharp corners and smooth curves, at the same time keeping readability. Some parts have been left blank in accordance with the letter forms. The name 'Away' represents these blanks. Also, the word 'a way' refers to the design of letterforms using a single-way.

Their ‘universal’, ‘single alphabet’ theory limits the character sets. Puchiflit is a typeface disguised as a pen script. I didn't create this typeface by importing the letters on paper and tracing them into a computer with a draw application. So I think it's a pseudo-pen script typeface. By the way, I used a famous Japanese maker's felt-tip pen as a reference for line widths. I thought, "Isn't this what it would look like if I wrote with this pen? I drew a line in the draw application while fantasizing about this.

I drew this font staying true to the original design. The letter table in the relevant book was taken as reference. The inspiration source for MFC Sansome Monogram is a decorative serif lettering style that comes from the book Henderson's Sign Painter from 1906. Known as "Rustic Roman" and originally designed by John F. Irwin, this fantastic typeface has been digitally revived and expanded for monogram designs.
