This set of decorated initial letters was inspired by those used in 1510 in Nancy (France, Lorraine) for printing of "Recueil ou croniques des hystoires des royaulmes d'Austrasie ou France orientale[...]" Author Symphorien Champion, unknown printer. There were three sorts of initials family, but only one complete and clear, except a very few characters. The printer used some letters to represent others, as V, turned over to make a A, D to make a Q, M for E, So, the reconstruction was a little less difficult. Thorn, Eth, L slash and O slash were also added. The original font's letters was only drawn in white on a black background only, but it was tempting to propose a negative version in black on white. A few letters have multiple appearance, but only the A was clear enough to be reproduced. It can be used as variously as web-site titles, posters and flyer design, publishing texts looking like ancient ones, or greeting cards, all various sorts of presentations, as a very decorative, elegant and luxurious additional font... This font supports strong enlargements revealing its fine details and remaining very smart. Its original medieval height is about one inch equivalent to about three to four lines of characters. This font may be used with all our blackletter fonts, but as well with "1543 Humane Jenson", "1557 Italic" and "1742 Civilite", without any fear about anachronism.

Imagine America in the 1930s. A gangster flick with Al Capone, a crime novel featuring Philip Marlowe. Our hero in a fedora sits in a classy bar, orders a double bourbon, lights a cigar and eyes the evening paper. He turns the pages, reading about a bank heist over on Third Avenue, a scandal involving a baseball player, a small ad for a general practitioner and a large spread about a famous law firm. What do the bottle of booze and the majestic facade of the bank have in common? The elegant baseball uniform and trustworthy attorneys? - Copperplate Gothic - When Frederick William Goudy created his legendary typeface in 1901, it went on to literally become the symbol of early 20th century America. Tiny serifs, characteristically broad letterforms, and particularly bold titles decorated calling cards at 6-point size, enormous bronze-cast logos, newspaper headlines, restaurant menus and more. This was the golden age of Copperplate, lasting up until the arrival of die neue Typografie and monospaced grotesques in the 1960s. Then the typeface almost completely disappeared. It made a partial comeback with the advent of the personal computer; digitizations of varying quality appeared, and one version even became a standard font in Adobe programs. This may have played a role in Copperplate later being used in DIY projects and amateur designs, which harmed its reputation. Copperplate New has been created to revive the faded glory of the original design. Formally, the new typeface expands the existing weight and proportional extremes. The slight serifs are reduced even further, making the typeface sans-like at smaller point sizes and improving readability. In contrast, at large point sizes it retains all of its original character. Decorative inline & shadow styles have been added and both have been created in all five proportions, making it easy to adapt the typesetting to the format you need. I really can’t tell you why I called this font Funky Flamingo. Normally I name fonts after something I see or do, but I don’t have a special thing for flamingoes, nor do I keep them in my backyard. Funky Flamingo is a happy handmade serif with a retro look. It comes in regular and bold styles, each style with its own Italic.

The early Twentieth Century was a golden age for cinema, and for the artists who lettered the iconic title sequences. Cinema Script is inspired by this lettering style, but has departed substantially from the source material in an effort to be less retro and more in tune with today’s designers' needs. The font will work admirably ‘out of the box’ but to really shine use the advanced OpenType features. Contextual alternates and ligatures should be on by default for the best results. Discretionary ligatures are a little more out there, so use them, ahem, at your discretion. Cinema Script also boasts swash characters, optional oldstyle numerals, plenty of stylistic sets and a nice ordinal feature for 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. For greater detail, check out the user guide in the gallery section. Acid Green has quite a psychedelic flair, but its origins are from long before the sixties psychedelia. Its roots date back to 1914, from an unnamed alphabet by J.M. Bergling, the amazing jewelry engraver and 'letterform inventor'—as he considered himself—whose books of art alphabets and lettering influenced countless artists, including, not surprisingly, those involved with the genesis of Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements. Perfect for multiple display uses, including retro designs and trippy letterings, Acid Green has an extensive character set, with multilingual support covering 208 languages. There are yet some handy stylistic alternatives for some extra grooviness. Acid Green is somewhat retro looking, for sure, but it can sound perfectly contemporary too. Clocko automatically turns the time stamp text into an analog clocks using the OpenType ligatures. Even when the ligatures are turned off, the time is still visible and readable, and it does not change or ruin the layout. Perfect for web usage and even for small sizes. For a crisp look, please use sizes divisible by 30, for example 30pt or 60pt. To make a custom analog clock, type any uppercase or lowercase letter to have a border (see previews for examples), and then type the time in 12 hour or 24 hour format with or without seconds. Use colon, comma, semicolon, hyphen, period or plus as a separator.
