Pondicherry is a nice city in the South-East of India. It has changed colonial hands over time, but after the last colonial power (the French) left in 1954, it reunited with India. I have always liked the name Pondicherry. It evokes something happy and exotic and I guess I had the same feeling when I developed this font. Pondicherry font is an outlined affair with an uneven baseline and an overall 'happy' feel. It is an all caps font, but upper and lower case differ and you can use them together. Pondicherry comes with a treasure chest full of diacritics.

For some reason I had Paul Simon’s song ‘You Can Call Me All’ in my head when I was busy working on this font, so I just had to call it Bonedigger. Bonedigger does not dig bones, but it does have ‘heavy bones’, as it is quite big. Bonedigger is seriously eroded and would look great on book covers and product packaging. It comes in a lovely regular and italic style and a seriously twisted inline style (with, of course, its own italic). The starting point for Wildcat was the 3×5 squared grid popular for tiled lettering and American sportswear typefaces. However, Wildcat breaks free of the net whenever necessary. The term Sanseki (Japanese for Three [Brush] Traces) is used to describe three famous Heian period calligraphers: Yaseki, Gonseki and Saseki. Not that I would ever dream of comparing my messy brush-work with theirs, but the name stuck and I kind of liked it. I used Chinese ink and a high quality brush (which I got in a sale actually) to create this font. All glyphs were hand painted in one go! Sanseki is a very detailed brush font. Upper and lower case letters mingle and there’s even an alternate for every lower case glyph. Comes with an abundance of diacritics.

This family was inspired by numerous documents and books printed in Paris during the end of the 1700s. Mainly, documents printed by P.G. Simon & N.H. Amongst a batch of antique sheet musical instruction booklets offered for sale online was a piece with Art Nouveau hand lettering on the cover entitled “Seven Musical Travelogues for Piano”. This design served as the inspiration and model for Ragtime Gal JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. The font’s name comes from the line ‘Hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my ragtime gal…’ from the 1899 song “Hello Ma Baby”; a tune that found a new burst of popularity in an odd way within a 1955 Warner Brother’s cartoon [“One Froggy Evening”].
