Popty Ping is Welsh slang for microwave oven. It literally means ‘oven that goes ping’. Popty Ping was sort of based on an older font of mine called Jambo. It is a very happy cartoon font, ideal for children’s book covers, ice cream packaging and microwave popcorn (preferably the non GM kind). Comes in two great styles and more diacritics than you can pop in an oven!

Among many of Alf Becker’s contributions to Signs of the Times magazine was 1 1935 offering named Chicago Modern Thick and Thin, which provided the inspiration for this face. It’s a perfect choice for friendly headlines with an Art Deco vibe. Both versions include the complete Unicode Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets, as well as localization for Lithuanian, Moldovan and Romanian.

Art Nouveau typeface "Gaisma Latin" ("Light" in Latvian) draws inspiration from Vienna Secession movement and Nordic National Romanticism. The work on the design started as drawings of several characters for the graphic standard for the Jugendstil museum in Riga. It contains characters for all the European languages as well as a huge set of contextual and stylistic alternates and historical characters to replicate texts of the era.

German type designer Ole Schäfer created this display FontFont in 1995. Framboisier means ‘Rasberry Bush’ in French. Even though it’s early spring, I already spotted raspberries at the greengrocers, so I figured a nice raspberry-related name would suit this font just fine. Framboisier is a hand painted script font. It’s a little messy, a little shaky, but legible and cute as well. Comes with all the diacritics and a whole bunch of alternate glyphs.

Dapplegrim is a Norwegian fairytale collected by Peter Christen Asbjørnsen and Jørgen Moe in their book ‘Norske Folkeeventyr’. The story is about a boy who inherits a big horse (called Dapplegrim, or Grimsborken in Norwegian) and sets off to rescue the king’s daughter from a nasty troll. Dapplegrim is a handmade fairytale font. Use it for your book covers, product packaging and fairytale collections!

Schreibmeister is my interpretation of Arno Drescher’s design for Ludwig Wagner, Leipzig, completed in 1958. The letters X and x were improved as well as some ligatures. The letter E has an alternative, and the small d comes with two alternatives, of which one form can be reached by typing the partial different key. Generally it is recommended to activate both Standard and Discretionary ligatures.

Dutch type designer Erik van Blokland created this script FontFont in 1990. The font is ideally suited for advertising and packaging, festive occasions, editorial and publishing as well as poster and billboards. Another filter effect version of Adhesive Serif Letters JNL (of which the original design was modeled after some vintage gummed letters used for signage) and is called Shattered Dreams JNL. This variant has jagged edges all around and is kind of reminiscent of shapes you could make with a small magnet and iron filings. Shattered Dreams JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Querino Script is an extra-bold script font, created by Måns Grebäck during 2018 and 2019. It comes as a regular, upright version and as italic. Also check out its sister typeface Querino Sans. The font is multilingual and has an extensive range of glyphs; it supports all Latin-based European languages, contains numbers as well as all symbols and characters you'll ever need.

The original intent for Thinset was to be used strictly as a display font only, but this single weight typeface can at times work great as a body of text as well. It's a clean, legible, and light font which is ideal for publications like fashion and editorial magazines. In addition to ligatures and fractions, Thinset’s other OpenType features include old style numbers and small caps.

LP Hand Eins is a typeface designed by German type designer Peter Langpeter. LP has been running his own design studio since 1995, working as a typeface and logo designer, as a calligrapher, cartographer and illustrator. During this time LP created a large number of excellent new typeface designs. LP Hand Eins is well-suited for plenty of applications, e.g. personal correspondence, invitations, greeting cards etc.

A collaboration based on lettering by Vermont illustrator/artist Mary Trafton and brought to typographic life by Charles Gibbons, the Full Moon Suite is a collection of casual typefaces called after folk names for full moons. Laura is the work of British designer Tony Watson, a brush style typeface with an effective three-dimensional look.
