A set of over 50 ornaments, connecting borders, flourishes and decorative motifs originally designed by Frederic Goudy throughout his career. Many of these designs were used by Goudy at his Village Press and offered by his Village Foundry in the 1920s. The styles range from complex title page illustrations to simple linking borders, but all have the unique Goudy style. This set is completely different from the Goudy Ornaments found in the P22 Goudy Aries Set.

A charming confidant. Italic, but without the slant. Campuni is a sans-serif typeface that can be described as an “upright italic”: its letters are modeled on the handwritten forms of italics—but without the slant. This gives Campuni a contemporary, charming, and trustworthy character. As with most modern sans-serif typefaces, Campuni’s design is based on low-contrast, almost monolinear strokes with a neat and clear appearance. Goteborg is a an original italic typeface designed by Paul Shaw in collaboration with Garrett Boge in 1998. Its graceful yet sturdy character shapes were inspired by twentieth century Swedish lettering. The face is appropriate for both text and display settings. AlphaBravo was born on a napkin. I was just doodling, playing around with letterforms when the ballpoint glided a little bit too far and suddenly I had my first letter with the dash sticking out on the left of the e’s horizontal line. I quickly checked on how many letters I could let a line stick out! Then I wrote a couple of words that way and letters joined in the most unusual places, creating new closed forms. I gave the font a try and quickly discovered, that I had stumbled onto an interesting new typeface. I didn't know how to call it, so I simply used the first two letters of the alphabet, Alpha and Bravo. Looking forward to Charlie and Delta, your very curious, Gert Wiescher.

I was playing around with an old brush I found in our kitchen: it had fallen under the stove and it had probably been hiding there for quite some time! I dusted it off, got my Chinese ink and set to work. The result is a scary-ish font. Mortal Coil comes with discretionary ligatures for double lower case letter combinations.

Our Pardner font finds its inspiration from the title screens of the 1965 film “West and Soda”, an animated Italian film that was a parody on American Westerns. Fs ornaments are unique modular sets of ornaments that are based on ancient patterns and medieval woodcuts. They work very well on modern layouts as well. What is more You can use them not only as ornaments but also as borders. This complexity gives you a carefully planned tool with high decorative qualities. All this depends only on your imagination! TextTile is a system of heavy sans titling faces which can be utilized to carry a repeating chromatic pattern across words and letters. It stands apart from other chromatic faces, where layered effects typically interact only within each letter and do not carry through from one letter to another. The pattern repetition across letters of varying widths is achieved through OpenType substitution, using conditional alternates for each successive letter to allow for a seamless appearance across words, regardless of letter combinations. Though the pattern exists on a strict grid and the letters' widths and spacing must be highly regular in order to preserve the pattern repeat, the letterforms themselves are not rigid; rather, they appear organic, lively. The initial release includes patterns inspired by a classic buffalo plaid, separated into its horizontal and vertical components to maximize the creative possibilities for layering one-, two-, three-, and even four-color plaid patterns. Kits are available to produce the plaid pattern in detail—with overlapping diagonal hatching fully visible—or as a simplified version in which transparency can be used to simulate plaid or to create a checkered or striped effect. The TextTile family of fonts is a flexible canvas for mixing and matching a broad array of patterns to create a unique look. The story of Humana begins with an exclusive volume about some manuscripts in Biblioteca Palatina in Parma, Italy. The title page uses the characters upon which I designed Humana. I suppose they were drawn for that volume. Examining the reproductions in the book I found that the characters on the title page immitate the lettering in a manuscript from the 15th century with Petrarca's Rime volgari". Not bad as origin! But I cannot free myself from the thought that there may be a typeface with that looks, not just a few characters drawn for that volume. My reference books could not give me any answer about that. The name Humana refers to the humanistic era from which the characters originate. Humana was released in 1994.

Family type designed by Felipe Calderón. This type is a display with a modern style and a different and innovative concept. The development of this type was a challenge because it was set out from the begining as a script font with ornaments and complements, where the round shapes do not have prominence in the result. Shelf is a humanistic sans-serif font of cool and solid character. Its frugal, clean and organic drawing as well as its name were inspired by the ice shelf landscape. Shelf was designed as a universal tool for creating a coherent information and navigation systems with accompanying publications, such as visual identity of exhibitions including catalogues. It is suggested to set long texts in Roman and Italic, while the best combination for a wayfinding system is Roman and Oblique. Every weight, therefore, contains Roman, Italic and Oblique versions. The variety of over 1500 glyphs constitutes a rich set of Latin script characters. Shelf includes small caps, a broad set of figures, a wide set of alternative style variants, arrows and a number of OpenType features.

The first plain weight of Cutoff was designed in 2005 to be used in Miele, an independent Italian free magazine. The need was for an elegant, unusual and legible semi-serif with contemporary flavour. I was fascinated by the deconstructivist work of Jeff Keedy (Hard Times Thick), Phil Baines (Can You, You Can) and Otl Aicher (Rotis), so my aim was to get the feeling of a cut transitional typeface; at the same time felt the exigence to work on the whole shape of the glyphs, in order to soften the “90s deconstructivist” effect and obtain a more balanced and readable design. In the last years I further worked on the typeface adding the other styles, extending the character set and refining the letterforms. Finally the precious collaboration with URW++ brought in 2010 to a complete OpenType Pro font family, with multilingual and advanced typographic features. Fulvio Bisca, July 2010

The Obla font family is a modern serif typeface accompanied by appropriate italic in seven weights. Sketches of letters were drawn manually, using thick marker for creating shape and pencil for finishing details. Calligraphic origin of shapes is revealed beneath strained curves drawn on computer. All of the weights were carefully adjusted to each other. Obla is equipped with some basic OpenType features and supports Cyrillic and Latin script. Using Obla in small sizes is very convenient, because of its large x-height, and Obla is a very readable typeface. It seduces the reader with its vivacious character. The typeface is also suitable for usage in large sizes. The best choice for headlines is using the heaviest (Black) and the lightest (Thin) weight. There are two smaller family packages in offer: Obla Basic Set contains Regular, Italic, Bold and Bold Italic, while Obla Light Set contains Light, Light Italic, SemiBold and SemiBold Italic. These two sets are the most appropriate for working with small text. Other weights can be bought separately, or within the whole family. Obla is an awarded typeface. It got Special Mention in Cyrillic Typefaces category in Granshan 2016 competition and it was chosen as a Merit Winner in Print’s Typography and Lettering Awards competition. At that time, before publishing, the typeface was named Petra.

Marvaloha is based on the handwriting of an Advertising creative director. The casual but powerful strokes he uses for sketching are also visible in his writing. The Marvaloha font family consists of the original Marvaloha Regular and a Bold version. Both have matching Italics. Hyperon is a text typeface, which is especially useful for math and physics literature. Its nature is defined by austere and humanist features that show the most in italic. The typeface includes weights from Regular to Black and widths from Condensed to Semi Expanded. What stands out for Hyperon is the extended character set, with added Greek and lots of mathematical signs. Some styles have small caps. The typeface was designed by Natalia Vasilyeva and released by Paratype in 2020.

f-line is a special handwriting monoline font face, with one constant line from glyph to glyph and variable width. It was drawn for the designer’s thesis in 2010 and expanded until 2021 with a lot of open type features.
