The book Modern Alphabets, published in 1930, called this diamond in the rough from Continental Typefounders Nova Bold. Well, it’s neither new nor modern anymore, but it’s a warm, friendly face that’s sure to please. Both versions of this font contain complete Latin 1252 and Central European 1250 character sets.

Dear Rae, Love Dad is a modern calligraphy font drawn by hand using ink and a folded nib dip pen on rough watercolor paper. Best used in Open Type apps, it has automatically changing alternates. It is upright, dramatic, and personal. It is named Dear Rae, Love Dad because who wouldn't like to get a letter signed, Love Dad. There is also a freebie font of several blobs and some hearts. Because it just seems right.

The Vtg Stencil fonts from astype are based on real world stencils from several countries. The Italian stencils that I chose as a model for this font are roughly based on classic French stencil letters. Please compare the figures (numbers) with their French counterparts. However, the Italian stencils are made with a different production technique. The design of the letters is clearly not punch-cut into the plates, maybe they are drilled, milled or etched. Details such as the serifs look bold and clumsy, and when using the stencils as they are meant, with viscous sign paint, smaller details easily fade away. So I took my freedom to design a font close to the original design but adding several typographic tweaks to let it shine, hoping to get closer to the intended design idea of these Italian stencils. Oksana Sans Wide is designed for short and big texts. It has six weights from Thin to Heavy. Supports Western, Central, Baltic Latin and European Cyrillic code pages. Old-style digits, some ligatures, alternative characters and Ukrainian hryvnia sign are also included.

Kurtzberg was created after the bold type on the splash pages of many of the classic comics of the 'fifties and 'sixties. Thick and chunky and filled with all those symbols basic comic book fonts rarely come with. Kurtzberg is always ready to swing into action when injustice rears its ugly face.

Two offerings from the Page specimen book, Aldine and Aldine Extended, provided the patterns for this family of Western-style standards, named for the smallest county in Texas, at least area-wise. Discovered within the pages of a turn-of-the-Twentieth-Century specimen book of the Società Nebiolo of Turin, Italy, was this little gem, which shows both antique and Art Nouveau influences. Both versions of this font include the complete Latin 1252 and Central European 1250 character sets.
