Along Sans Grande is an ultra condensed sans serif font family developed based on the typeface styles of the Along Sans Geometric Font Family. In the case of the black weight with the largest change in the size of the stem, the size is 180:140:100, respectively. And, the thin weight style has the same proportion of stem size. Some Glyphs that need to support the stem alone remain a size 222 for Black Weight. These interpolation rules are sufficient to complement the rhythm and readability of the whole family. I have seen my share of badly stuffed animals. Most of them via pictures, but also on vacations here and there. They all had this really bad handcraft vibe, but at the same time some really ordinary and kind of cute looks. I did my best to capture this look and feeling in my Badly Stuffed Animal font: clumsy letters made with a blobbly pen, with naive and irregular lines - and the conclusion is something super useful for a project that needs an organic handmade look!

Some time ago, my son asked me to name all Seven Seas. I had to think for a bit, because I can think of more than 7 seas (the North Sea, the Caspian Sea, the South China Sea, the Sea Of Okhotsk, etc.), but apparently these are not part of the BIG Seven. It turns out that even oceans count as ‘seas’. Long story short, I created a font, had to think of my son’s question and named the font Seven Seas. Seven Seas is a hand made serif that comes with swashed alternatives for a lot of glyphs.

The origin of AM Floriana is already several decades ago. At a time when there was no photo set and the choice of metal type fonts was still very manageable, Alois Menacher received an order to design a custom business logo from a flower shop. He then created a hand-drawn lettering based on the form of leaves and plants. Now Alois Menacher professionally designed and developed AM Floriana on the basis of this lettering. AM Floriana is ideally suited for packaging design, as well as for display design and logo design. AM Floriana is available as a Bold version and will soon be complemented by further cuts.

A font drawn in a rounded rectangle looks modern – if we do not mind that it was in vogue mainly in the 80s of the last century and was created in the fifties, when various Italian designers noticed that the outline of a glass TV screen is actually the letter “o“. Since then, this progressive idea has undergone many improvements, which can be summarized in the notion of “popular-scientific typographic revival”. The present incarnation called “Superscience” has the advantage of having extreme variations and nicely simplified letters, as well as the usual repertoire of OTF functions and playful variations.

Initially, I participated in the contest to design the logo for Bill Lloyd. In the end, the design was rejected, but letters remained. I then decided to continue with the idea and complete the entire typeface. After a couple of months, I realized that the typeface was imperfect, and now that I’m working on an updated Lloyd type, this one is free. The main characteristic of the typeface is its bold and curvy shapes. It is also tall and original in design. It was a great experience because it taught me how failure inspires people to move on, and create something better.

Lc Trinidad is the result of a series of wonderings regarding geometric Sans Serif typography design, in particular; Futura of Paul Renner. A “conversation” arose between me and the designer – actually there was no conversation, it is an euphemism for “I saw his designs, I draw them and discussed with myself some of his decisions – that ended up being the origin of this font firsts glyphs: A, H, N, O, R and S. I started with uppercase letters, and here is when Rudolf Koch with Kabel and his “Das schreibbuchlein” joined the conversation. This is how I could develop some alternative lowercase letters so as to illustrate this imaginary discussion. The result is a sans serif, geometric, modern typeface with classical Roman proportion in the uppercase letters; two stylistic sets for lowercase letters (setKoch and setRenner), rational, open and sharp ends. It is ideal to form titles, medium length texts, branding, exhibitions and animations. The family consists of 9 weight variants and their corresponding oblique versions and small caps. With more than 900 glyphs, it covers more than 190 Latin languages and together with its Opentype functions it creates a modern and versatile family. Delaguerra is based on a lettering style originating in the California Arts & Crafts period commonly associated with 'Mission Style'. It is still in common usage in signage at historical sites in California. Over the past 5 years, I've had the opportunity to travel a lot to Paris and I've always tried to catch every moment and detail of this delightful city through the eyes of the designer inside me. Paris is full of surprises, mainly for us, artists. In fact, I believe the city is a museum itself. Every corner of any street has something inspiring. But, there’s something I particularly love and I want to address here: The Palais Garnier. Built between 1861 and 1875, this opera house is a dream made true for many of us, who love somptuosité. Garnier, the architect of this magnificent building, said that the style he proposed was not Grecian nor Roman/baroque, he created something new and called it Napoleonic: Luxurious at its best. Fleur is inspired in this palace which, in fact, has some similar letters inside. Garnier put his name at the ceiling of the Rotonde des Abonnés: Letters are interlacing each other with nicely done art nouveau curves. I thought I could take this idea and achieve something very delicate and imposing at the same time if the font consisted entirely of caps with the logic of a didone and a bit of art-nouveau. This mix of elegance and flamboyance gave birth to Fleur which has a wide range of uses but was mainly intended for perfumes, fashion magazines, storefronts, book covers or logos. With all ego aside, Romp was designed and influenced by my daughter, Angel. For some time now, she has wanted me to design a font based on her handwriting. But each time I sit down to do it, I run into more that she needs to do and redo. On a recent attempt, I ran into the same situation again. Instead of moving on to something else, I decided to whip out a sumi brush and start making letters...for me, type design is something a little ‘serious’ and never a time to just have fun. This typeface proved that notion wrong—it really was fun. As a result, each letter encouraged another and the design grew...and grew! The unusual name for this Deco style typeface comes from the playful and pun-laden 1960s Rocky & Bullwinkle TV show. It is the name of the newspaper in the mythical town of Frostbite Falls, MN, home of the two cartoon stars. The name, Picayune Intelligence, literally means “pretty dumb”, but we don’t think that describes Nick’s competent design at all. It is comforting to know that someone is still watching quality television.

In the Dynamic Seventies, "prismatic" typefaces were all the rage, and few were more popular than variants of Paul Renner's Futura and the Herbert Bayer-inspired Bauhaus. This family of fonts features Futura-like forms in the uppercase and Bauhaus-like forms in the lowercase, so you can mix or match to create just the perfect headline. As always, all versions contain the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets.

GummiType is a wildly wobbly and clumsy gummy/jelly style letter font. This was a weird typeface that I originally designed back in 2000 but never finished it. Coming across it again recently, I thought it would be a fun font family to get out there. Perfect for a range of designs that require a spooky or gooey-gooey typestyle. Sometimes the inspiration for my typefaces comes from random everyday things, and this is the perfect example of that. My daughter is addicted to those little peach gummy rings and gummy worms, and gummy anything, but it was my own prior addiction to gummy peach rings that inspired this font. Pulling and distorting the ring sparked the inspiration for the droopy warped characters.

I only had this bouncy curve and a photograph of a daily menu (Truite Meunière) I took outside an obscure Paris restaurant when starting the design of this font. But while working on it I suddenly started thinking about Jacques Tati the famous but almost forgotten french director of Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot, Jour des Fêtes, Mon Oncle, Playtime, Trafic etc. I thought about his bouncy walk and his hilarious ideas. The memories never left me while working on the font, so I decided to name the font after this great French moviemaker who gave me so many happy hours. Font designed after that used in Brehan-Loudeac (Britanny, France) by Robin Fouquet and Jean Crès in years 1480s to print a lot of texts and books. This font include “long s”, naturally, as typically medieval, and a few special characters and abreviations, also some variants, like for “d”, “r” or “v”. The small “y” is accented, just like in British alphabet of the time, though the texts were printed in French. Added, a lot of accented characters no longer existing on this time. This font of Moon Type is modelled after Dr. Moon's original poster. He developed this embossed writing system to help those who have lost their sight later in life, and so are familiar with the shapes of English letters. Catskin is a fairytale by The Brothers Grimm. The story is about a king who has a beautiful wife and daughter - you know, the basic fairytale stuff. Long story short: they all live happily ever after (except for the wife, who dies…). Catskin is also a nice, handmade font. I like making fairytale fonts, especially since I have three kids, who love books. And when I see one of my fonts on the cover, I can tell them: ‘daddy made this’. #prouddaddy ;-)

Empresario Stephen F. Austin (1793-1836) is considered by many the “Father of Texas” for leading the first Anglo-American colony into the then-Mexican territory back in the 1820s. A few years later, while on a diplomatic mission to Mexico City, Austin was arrested on suspicion of plotting Texas independence and imprisoned for virtually all of 1834. During this time he kept a secret diary of his thoughts and musings—much of it written in Spanish. Austin Pen is my interpretation of Austin’s scribblings in this miniature prison journal (now in the collection of the wonderful Dolph Briscoe Center for American History, in the Texas city that bears his name). The little leather-bound book is filled with notes in ink and pencil—some of the faded penciled pages traced in ink years later by Austin’s nephew Moses Bryan. A genuine replication of 19th century cursive, Austin Pen has two styles: a fine regular weight, along with a bold style that replicates passages written with an over-inked pen. Each is legible and evocative of commonplace American penmanship of two centuries ago.

A. R. Bosco made Romany for ATF in 1934, when there was much demand for script types in advertising and publishing. It was the high times of Speedball lettering, and a casual script in that fashion was naturally very welcome. It became an instant hit and was used widely for a good part of the 1930s and 1940s. Apricot is not only a revival of Bosco's work, but also a major expansion of it. It contains very effective solutions to the many problems presented by the original metal type, which had to always be tracked too wide because of the forms of some of its letters. Solving these problems was not an easy task. A comprehensive set of alternates was designed to give the user the ability to replace some forms in certain uses, and a large set of two-, three-, and even four-letter ligatures was added to solve the awkwardness of some of the more common letter pairings. The resulting work is quite delightful, especially for those who like to take advantage of OpenType technology. Apricot is the rarest kind of script in digital type these days, the kind that is upright, round, bold, feminine, and distinctly young in appearance. A birthday cake for a teenage girl can certainly benefit from these letters.
