Tuscaloosa is a classic American 'Wild West' Tuscan typeface-we thought it would make a suitable Independence Day tribute to our many American clients. It's ideal for wherever that 'Western' feel is wanted. Posters, signage, the sides of stagecoaches etc... Three faces are offered, a pristine and sharp regular form, a somewhat distressed 'Rustic' face and the rather more distressed 'Extremely Rustic'. Calamity Wayne is a reverse-contrast slab serif, inspired by the ‘wild west’ French Clarendons (aka Italians or Egyptians) of the late-1800s. Despite the idiosyncrasies that make it ideal for display and headline uses, it is also surprisingly legible in text settings. Calamity Wayne supports Latin, Cyrillic and Greek, and is available in OTF and TTF formats. Faubourg marks the first professional typeface release by Marie Boulanger. As much traditional as it is unconventional in its celebration of letterforms, this typeface dances on the page and screen as it moves from a more conventional appearance to monoline and back again. The flowing silk-like undulation only accentuates this distinguishing feature and produces one opportunity after the next for headline settings where the word is as important as the content supporting it.

Grotbox is an interesting, if not startling, distressed punk font. There are two varieties: one with upright characters; the other with the characters rotated out of whack for extra informality. Legibility is maintained, despite the wild industrial feel of the typeface, and it's designed to grab the attention. The zip package contains both OTF and TTF versions - install either OTF or TTF, not both versions of a font on the same machine.

For years, the print ads for the Hickok Jewelry Company [renowned for their line of men's belts, suspenders, wallets, cufflinks, etc.] featured its name and related main line ad copy hand-lettered in a condensed monoline with Art Deco styling. This has been reproduced in Fashionable JNL, available in both regular and oblique versions. For those of you who are wondering: yes, the founder of the company was a distant relative of "Wild Bill" Hickok.

Based on a hand lettered sample from the early 20th Century, Gibson Girl is a heavy script font with a vintage flair. During the end of the 19th Century, the “Gibson Girl” created by illustrator Charles Gibson, was considered the ideal of feminine beauty and poise in that time period. The term has become associated with the Gilded Age in America. The design of the Gibson Girl font reflects both femininity and self confidence.

A totally off the wall crazy sans serif display type, Beaucoup started as a digitization of a film typeface called “Bippie” by Facsimile Fonts. From there, it was taken and built out to an extensive character set ready to take you for a wild ride. Completely loco, yet somehow still easily legible, this typographic wildchild is dying for you to get your grubby little hands on it and take it for a spin!

Aduana is the first typographic product of argentine-chilean typographic archeology project called "Valpo. Ciudad de Letras" (Fabio Ares & Karin Thiers, since 2016). Based on the letter located on the front of the Customs building (Valparaíso, Chile). The resultant family can be described as display type and modern renaissance style, with geometric shapes and serif and mild line modulation. The proceeds from the sale of the fonts will be used to finance the project.

Sugar Medley was originally inspired by piped icing writing on celebratory cakes. It lends itself to any project requiring a ‘controlled messy’, fun feel. Pepperwood font is a joint work of the typeface designers K.B. Chansler, C. Crossgrove and C. Twombly. These artists also created the typefaces Rosewood, Zebrawood and Ponderosa together and as the names suggest, all of these typefaces are so-called wood types. The origins of this kind of typeface can be found in the early 19th century. Called Italian or Italienne, these typefaces quickly became very popular. They are distinguished by square serifs whose width is larger than the stroke width of the characters. When the letters are set together, the heavy serifs build dark horizontal bands. Pepperwood font has a couple of unique characteristics of its own. Small squares decorate the middle of the letters and the edges of the serifs are not straight, rather, they have small, fine tips. Pepperwood is reminiscent of the Wild West with its shootouts and heroes, but also suggests the glamor of the 1970s with their platform shoes and wild hair-dos. The different weights allow a large range of design possibilities. Used carefully in headlines, Pepperwood font is sure to draw attention.

A vintage rubber stamp alphabet and star printing set had a package header with Art Deco-inspired lettering describing the product. Sold by a company called Elvin [circa late 50's-early 1960s], these Japanese-made sets were one of many distributed by independent toy importers and made in various configurations including [at times] tiny animal stamps. The type design on this particular item was the model for Retro Packaging JNL, available in both regular and oblique versions.

Gloss Drop is a wild hand lettered typeface, that passed the process of digitization without losing the spontaneous vibrancy of brush lettering. With the power of OpenType it gets real close to what you normally do with ink, brush and paper. Like in real handwriting, some, but not all, letters connect within a word. Automatic OpenType features handle the choice of inital and final forms neighbouring a gap and choose the adequate medial or isolated forms.
