  3. Kennedy by Galapagos, $39.00
The Kennedy family is a completely original design, inspired by lettering discovered by George during his exploration of 16th century cartography, some years ago. The charm exhibited by these beautiful artifacts is as much reflected in the letterforms they employ as in the drawing style or content they present. After familiarizing himself with the offerings of the various printing centers of that period, George began work on a design which he called Marconova. This design continued to evolve until it began to take on the look of Dutch Oldstyle typefaces of a later period. At this point George re-christened his work-in-progress Kennedy, and added the Book, Book Italic and Small Cap companion typefaces. Only a small trace of its design ancestry is evident in the resulting typeface family. There is enough, however, to make them a unique entry in the collection of distinguished contemporary designs.
  4. ITC Founder's Caslon by ITC, $40.99
The Englishman William Caslon punchcut many roman, italic, and non-Latin typefaces from 1720 until his death in 1766. At that time most types were being imported to England from Dutch sources, so Caslon was influenced by the characteristics of Dutch types. He did, however, achieve a level of craft that enabled his recognition as the first great English punchcutter. Caslon's roman became so popular that it was known as the script of kings, although on the other side of the political spectrum (and the ocean), the Americans used it for their Declaration of Independence in 1776. The original Caslon specimen sheets and punches have long provided a fertile source for the range of types bearing his name. Identifying characteristics of most Caslons include a cap A with a scooped-out apex; a cap C with two full serifs; and in the italic, a swashed lowercase v and w. Caslon's types have achieved legendary status among printers and typographers, and are considered safe, solid, and dependable. ITC Founder's Caslon® was created in 1998 by Justin Howes, an English designer who used the resources of the St. Bride Printing Library in London to thoroughly research William Caslon and his types. As was common in the eighteenth century, Caslon had punchcut several different sizes of his types, and each size had a slightly different design. Howes digitized every size of type that Caslon cast, keeping their peculiarities and irregularities and reproducing them as they appeared on the printed page. This family has the 12 point, 30 point, 42 point, and Poster styles, as well as a full set of bona fide ornaments. In keeping with the original Caslon types, none of the sizes have bold weights, the numerals are all old style figures, and a full set of ligatures (some with quaint forms) are included. ITC Founder's Caslon® is a remarkable revival in the true sense of the word, and works beautifully in graphic designs or texts that require an authentic English or historical flavor.

  32. 1621 GLC Pilgrims by GLC, $30.00
This font was created with inspiration from the wood blocks carved for chapbooks, posters, calendars or newspaper in the late 1500’s and early 1600’s. We have tried to keep their innocence and rough style. It has been conceived as an homage to the “Pilgrim fathers” landing in Plymouth Bay in 1620 and celebrating the first Thanksgiving with Native Indians in autumn, 1621. The font, consisting of two English capital alphabets (so, without any accented characters): Initials and caps, and a lot of separate figures added, is especially improved by strong enlargments, 72 pts and more, and has very good results when printed.
  33. Freehouse by Device, $39.00
Freehouse is a reinterpretation of the well-remembered Watney’s logo, a brewery and pub chain infamous for its poor quality beer and brutalist decor. Clarendon has square serifs, whereas the Watney’s font is rounder and friendlier. A fixture of the British high street landscape for decades, this digitisation adds a full international character set, numbers, punctuation and many other characters that did not exist in the original. A distressed version that evokes rough print on a wet beermat has also been developed.

  37. Alchemila by Heyfonts, $18.00
Alchemila "UNIQUE serif modern font" likely refers to a typeface that combines elements of traditional serif design with contemporary and distinctive features. Serif fonts have small lines or strokes attached to the ends of characters, which can contribute to a more formal or traditional appearance. The term "modern" in this context typically implies a contemporary or updated style. Here's an explanation of the characteristics and significance of a UNIQUE serif modern font: -Serif Elements: Serifs are the small lines or strokes at the ends of characters, and they are a hallmark of traditional typography. In a UNIQUE serif modern font, these serif elements are likely to be present but may have a distinctive shape or style that sets them apart from more conventional serif fonts. -Contemporary Design: The "modern" aspect of the font suggests a contemporary or updated design. This may involve a departure from the more classical serif styles seen in traditional typefaces, incorporating modern design principles, cleaner lines, and a more minimalist aesthetic. -Distinctive Characters: A UNIQUE serif modern font is likely to feature characters with unique and individual design elements. This could include unconventional serifs, letter shapes, or other stylistic details that make the font stand out and contribute to its uniqueness. -Versatility: While serif fonts are often associated with formality and readability, a UNIQUE serif modern font may offer versatility suitable for a range of design applications. It could be used in both traditional and modern contexts, providing flexibility for various design projects. -Applicability to Branding: Fonts play a crucial role in branding, and a UNIQUE serif modern font could be an excellent choice for businesses or projects that want to convey a sense of tradition and reliability while maintaining a contemporary and innovative image. -Digital and Print Design: Modern serif fonts are often designed with both digital and print applications in mind. The clarity of the typeface, even at smaller sizes, and its aesthetic appeal make it suitable for a variety of design projects, from websites and apps to print materials like brochures and posters. -Attention to Detail: The uniqueness of the font may be reflected in the careful attention to detail in each character. This could include refined curves, balanced proportions, and other design elements that contribute to the overall visual appeal and readability of the font. -Available Features: Unique serif modern fonts may come with additional features, such as alternative characters, ligatures, or stylistic sets, allowing designers to customize the appearance of the text for specific design needs. When selecting or working with a UNIQUE serif modern font, designers should consider the overall design goals, the intended audience, and the context in which the font will be used

  39. SST Thai by Monotype, $67.99
Designed for global branding and supporting 93 languages, the SST® typefaces blend the organic readability and controlled structure of modern sans serif designs. In combining these attributes, the SST family is understated, versatile – and sure to be a timeless design. The SST Thai family has 4 fonts in total. It spans four weights from light to bold. SST’s subtle design traits provide a quietly handsome and consistently friendly typographic presence that can be used for just about any typographic application. Broad range branding applicability combined with coverage for almost a hundred languages, makes SST one of the most widely accessible and usable typefaces available. Originally designed in partnership with the global consumer brand, Sony, the SST family is one of the most comprehensive type families available. Since extensive multi-lingual support was a critical design goal from the beginning, Akira Kobayashi, Monotype type director and primary designer on the project, turned to a network of local designers around the world for their individual language expertise. As a result, the details – which could be as subtle as stroke curvature and width – are consistent across Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic and multiple Asian languages. SST performs equally well in print and on-screen and the designs can be used at very small sizes in packaging and catalogs; while massive print headlines – even complicated wayfinding projects pose no stumbling blocks to the family’s typographic dexterity.
  40. Neue Frutiger by Linotype, $71.99
The original Frutiger typeface was designed in the early 1970s by Adrian Frutiger and his studio for the way finding system of the Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. Soon after the airport was opened, a huge demand for the typeface arose from companies wanting to employ it in other signage systems, as well as in printed matter. The Frutiger typeface came out as part of the Linotype library in 1977. Epitomizing functionality and clarity both in signage and as a bread-and-butter typeface in print, Frutiger became a modern classic. Neue Frutiger® is the 2009 version of the Frutiger typeface family. It was revised and improved by Akira Kobayashi in close collaboration with Adrian Frutiger. While Frutiger Next, the 1999 revision, introduced a new concept (including a larger x-height, a more pronounced ascender height, narrower letter-spacing and, most notably, an italic with calligraphic traits), Neue Frutiger returns to the original 1977 design. The result is a well-balanced range of 10 finely-graded weights. Despite the various changes, the ‘New Frutiger’ still fits perfectly with Frutiger and serves to harmoniously enhance the styles already in existence. Neue Frutiger Variable are font files which are featuring two axis and have a preset instance from UltraLight to ExtraBlack and Condensed to Extended.
