Experimental and accidental unicase grotesque. A font in which all the letters and numbers fell down and deformed under the force of gravity. Everything that was hanging fell down. Everything that was curved horizontally straightened. The form and principle of construction of each symbol in the font is dictated not by tradition, but by physics. This makes FE Planking 2020 an excellent tool for creating phrases and statements in advertising and art projects that attract attention and make your head spin. The first free version with a minimum set of Latin and Cyrillic alphabets was released in 2019, and in 2020 the font was updated and supplemented with an expanded set of characters. Anna Clara can be dressed up or down, as fancy as you wanna be. On its own, it’s an organic script, with the fine hairlines, thick swells, and slightly undulating baseline found in modern casual calligraphy. Add swashes, and Anna Clara becomes a bit more playful and festive. Each capital letter has a flourished alternate—great for displays or headings, or to add emphasis to a particular section of text. Handel Slab, designed by Ralph M. Unger, is a new offering which ideally enhances and extends the existing Handel Gothic family. Even so, Handel Slab can very well be used on its own. Obviously, Handel Slab is closely based on Handel Gothic, which was designed by Don Mandel in the mid 1960s and which has been popular and successful amongst users from day one. Even today, it is a futuristic sans serif, and it is used for a wide range of typographic tasks, for example in computer games. Handel Slab provides a perfect enhancement to Handel Gothic, and the combination of both families offers more flexibility to designers and typographers.

Font designed from that used in France in 1492 to print the peace treaty between French and Enqlish Kings in Etaples, French town in Normandy. This font include "long s", naturally, as typically medieval, and only a few special characters as there were not very often used in the text, no more than abbreviations. Added, a lot of accented characters no longer existing on this time. A render sheet, joined with the font file, makes it easy to identify on a keyboard. This font is used as variously as web-site titles, posters and fliers design, editing ancient texts, greetings... This font supports as easily enlargement as small size, remaining a readable and beautiful regular gothic.

A 1934 advertisement for the Roney Plaza Hotel at 23rd Street and Collins Avenue on Miami Beach yielded the inspiration for Tropical Tourist JNL. While this wonderful example of Art Deco lettering survived, sadly the original Roney was torn down around 1969 and replaced with a modern apartment house/condos bearing the same name.

Volta is a robust typeface from the 1950s. A revisit to styles that were en vogue at the turn of the century, Bauer type foundry designers Walter Baum and Konrad Bauer designed this type family in1955. The form of Volta's letters are similar to those in New Transitional Serif typefaces, like Cheltenham and Century. Developed after the Didone (i.e., Bodoni) style types, New Transitional Serifs speak more to the zeitgeist of the late 19th Cntury, and were typographic adaptations to it's newer technologies. Already in the period of mass production, typographers and printers at the dawn of the 20th Century had to cope with larger print runs on cheaper materials. The robust letterforms of New Transitional Serifs were designed to compensate for this, but they were also ingenious little inventions in their own right. Form the beginning, the new, peculiar forms of New Transitional Serif letters were adopted for use by advertisers. Their robustness also allowed them to be used in virtually all sizes. Volta was designed especially with advertising display usage in mind. The x-height of Volta's letters is higher than average for serif faces. It is recommended that Volta be used exclusively for shorter tracks of text, above 12 point. Headlines look dashing set in Volta. Four different font styles are available for the Volta typeface: Regular, Medium, Medium Italic, and Bold."

I have a notation that the summer of 1994, when I worked with Kalix, was a warm one. I had no special typeface in mind when drawing the characters of Kalix, but many typefaces contributed to it, e.g. my own Omnibus from which I borrowed the looks of the smal case g. I think it is a lovely typeface whose use is mainly for books and magazines. Kalix is the name of a northern Swedish town situated along a river called Kalixälven. Its name is of sami origin, *káles, meaning cold. There comes the connection to the warm summer of 1994! But even the Latin word for chalice, calix, has something to do with my choice of name. Kalix was released in 1994.

Perfect for sound effects like BOOM! THOOM and, er... RUMBLE, this font family is an Earth Shaker!

Combustible is a hot, handwritten script font. I don’t really know why I named it Combustible - maybe because I scribbled this one down with near frozen hands. Combustible was made with a medium sized Japanese brush pen. It is a messy script, yet highly legible. Comes with double letter ligatures and a matchbox full of diacritics.

Keep up that great western tradition with Buckle Bold! Buckle was created to be a contemporary twist to old "cowboy" fonts. It is bold while retaining a narrow width. When reduced down, it has a slightly worn look caused by the reduced double diamonds inside the capitals - which does not look out of place at all.

A self made bamboo or reed stick nicely cut down to a broad edged nib must have been the tool with which the designer Andrew Weed wrote his letters for the typeface Pine.Its irregular outline is the result of the flowing of the ink. Ideal for a headline or a poster which reflects the personal touch of the tool.

Sone is designed to be bold with stripped off nonessential details making it uncomplicated, simple in expression, yet appealing and easy to decipher, even from a distance. Serene and gentle in quality by low contrast, slow ductus and large x-height reducing the up down motion, plus enhance the legibility. It works beautifully in both, display and body copy.

Lourdes is an informal script font drawn with quick, thick brush strokes. The script appears to be quickly dashed down, and the characters were carefully designed to create a subtle rhythm. The strokes are slightly muted to avoid an overly aggressive appearance. Lourdes has a wonderful active tempo that works well for headlines, logotypes and signage.

Waiting For My Girl comes from a System of a Down song (Hypnotize). I was listening to it when I created this font and I liked the name! Waiting For My Girl is a script font - it’s quite loose and uneven, just like proper hand writing. It comes with double letter ligatures and a lot of character!
