Diamond Jim JNL was inspired [in part] by an image of a 1970s Letraset® dry transfer typeface made entirely of small stars. By creating his own layout using tiny diamond shapes, Jeff Levine has produced a font that takes on multiple appearances. At 24 point it resembles dot matrix printing; at 48 point the diamonds are clearly visible; and overall, the design has a distinctive 70s retro feel. Limited character set.

With the intention to create a family of modern calligraphy, Vild Scapes offers different feels in different effects. The Normal option cuts back the imperfections created from freehand writing, while Inkless keeps those details. There’s also the Rust option, which imitates letterpress printing effects. Impresssionable JNL is a font created from samples printed from a vintage rubber stamp toy set. This is a limited character design without spacing or kerning in order to preserve the hand-made look of inkpad printing on paper. A few extra punctuation glyphs, a percent sign and Euro were added to the original characters. At smaller sizes (72 point or less), the letters resemble the imprints of the stamps, but at higher sizes, they take on a different look of deconstructed lettering.

Adinah is a lively brush script with a strong sense of rhythm. Adinah’s expressive letterforms are based on pointed brush calligraphy with a hint of sign painting. This Sign painting influence reveals itself the further you dig into the family styles. Eight combined styles are complimented by a sub family of Six Layered Font options.

Compact sans, ideal for setting long texts in small or very small type sizes: for packaging, instruction booklets, drug information leaflets and anything else that has to be legible at very small sizes. Lean and rhythmical, designed ideally to be used at less than 8 points (Brevier was the old typefounders’ name for 8-point type), Brevier holds up well even under adverse printing conditions. The apparently geometric letterforms hide Renaissance characteristics, the x-height and openings are very generous and the strokes slightly modulated. In order to offset ink spread – which is inevitable when printing very small sizes of type – Brevier has large white spaces between the letters. All internal angles have deep ink traps and many connections have been left open.

The Bitstream version of Letter Gothic designed by Roger Robertson in 1956-62 for IBM electric typewriter. It is a condensed, monospaced font resembling a typewriter face, suitable for tabular material. Primarily used for slide presentations and for word processing applications, Letter Gothic is very helpful for printing out software source listing, for informal office communications and for tabular charts where alignment of columns is important. Mang is an 11 point (or 22 pt or 44 pt etc.) bitmap font that was originally designed for a poetry piece in Born Magazine. It is slightly quirky but works well as a text face. You can use it for screen resolution or print designs as it includes outlines.

Loosely based on a Jan Tschichold specimen, Mere is a clean geometric sans-serif with simple lines that are best viewed as larger print but still have an impact at smaller point sizes. In addition to ligatures and fractions, Mere’s other OpenType features include old style numbers and small caps.

Kontrast Grotesk represents a contrast in type design based on a different principle. It was inspired by W. A. Dwiggins and his experiments with the stroke variations. Contrast in this typeface is created not only with the influence of the writing tool (the thickness of horizontal strokes in relation to vertical), but by setting the primary and secondary construction strokes of the characters (e.g. glyph “E”). The grotesque types are usually with no or minimal contrast. Having the contrast has created a new and original look of this typeface without compromising the legibility. The fonts are designed for fluent reading on the screen. A little wider proportions are specially welcome with no need for saving a space as it is in printed media. Kontrast Grotesk family consists of five weights, with italics, small caps and italic small caps. Fonts contains a range of opentype features.

The idea behind Nolan is to create emotional response due to its inviting character and legibility. It is ideal for headlines, presentations, product signage and bespoke logotypes. Due to the structure of the letters, Nolan can also stand its ground in body text, although this is not its primary purpose. Nolan is created slightly wider than what is to be expected from a typical sans font, yet not to the point of being considered a wide typeface. This uniqueness lends the family an air of originality while adhering to already established standards in the creation of contemporary sans typefaces. Nolan has a large x-height, so as to deliver a better punch and be legible at a glance . Its clean and modern lines are reminiscent of architectural aesthetic.

Yahosch replicates informal hand writing. The typeface is based on egg-shaped circular elements, with the larger part of the oval on the bottom. It comes in three weights, each with an italic style. The regular is very readable even at smaller point sizes where it appears much like neat hand printing.

Years before the many "modern" ways to creates signs and posters, the popular method was the rubber stamp printing set. Many of these sets used the classic DeVinne typeface, and were manufactured by at least a half dozen different companies. The "sign and chart printers" (as they were known) often consisted of both upper and lower case letters, numbers, punctuation, pointing hands and other symbols. MVB Peccadillo is an interpreted revival of a metal typeface popular in the 19th Century, then known as Skeleton Antique. Highly condensed with extra short descenders, the face makes a big impact in a narrow space. Holly Goldsmith worked from letterpress-printed specimens of 96-point, antique metal type, deliberately retaining subtle distortions due to type wear and letterpress impression. Alan Dague-Greene, referring to printed samples of Skeleton Antique, adapted the design to create two additional optical sizes: “Eight” for smaller text and “Twenty-four” for subheads.

Gorodets is a symbol font based on traditional wood-painting style from the town Gorodets on Volga river, Russia. The main motifs of it are decorative flowers, birds, horses and even people, drawn in special way and painted in black, red, blue and green. The Gorodets typeface consists of 60 manually traced images divided into two parts: filled and empty ones. The typeface can be suitable in greeting cards and other printed materials to make them look decorative in a traditional Russian way.

The script font “Jefferson” is based on real handwriting of Thomas Jefferson. Luckily there is a draft of original text of the Declaration of Independence written by Jefferson available . It was used as a primary source for this font. The Jefferson font was developed by Gennady Fridman for ParaType in 2005. It is in OpenType format with a contextual substitution of letterforms and specific ligatures.

Alizé is a three-weight typeface inspired by the chancery italic of the 16th century. It is a high-contrast face, created with syncopations in axes and proportions and subtle irregularities that form a lively and delicate weave, suitable for setting a single word, a special expression, or a short block of prose. The family does not contain a roman, and instead promotes the italic as a primary style, a common printing convention in the 16th and 17th centuries. The italic lowercase predates inclined capitals by about twenty years, and as a nod to this typographic evolution, Alizé’s capitals, small capitals, and figures are very slightly inclined to match the energy of the lowercase. The low x-height and long ascenders and descenders, features associated with finesse and luxury, are reminiscent of the Venetian-style italic, but are further emphasised. Unlike the Venetian italic, however, Alizé has a sharp slope, giving a prominent sweep across the page (alizé is the name of trade wind). Each font of Alizé has a character set count of exceeding 700, and contains an abundance of ligatures, dynamic fractions, ornaments, and pan-European language support. They have also been manually hinted for the highest-quality display on both print and screen.

LATINATE is a condensed Latin typeface whose sharp serifs are not as fiercely pointed as traditional Latins. The fonts are derived from the serial numbers of bus tickets issued by the Bell Punch Company in the mid twentieth century, and the LATINATE ROUGH font is a distressed version based on scans of coarsely printed tickets.

The first Tuscan lettering was penned in the mid-fourth century by the calligrapher Furius Dionysius Filocalus. The style was still in common usage as calligraphy when Vincent Figgins designed the first Antique Tuscan for print in 1817. Antique and Gothic Tuscan woodtype fonts appeared in the 1830’s. By the 1850’s, Tuscan fonts had become popular in America. These styles continued in print use into the twentieth century. Tuscan Antique and Gothic styles, borrowed from print and calligraphy, were perfect for signs, posters, handbills and other large format advertising. Sign painter, Frank Atkinson demonstrated several Tuscan forms in his book Sign Painting, A Complete Manual. Modified & Spurred Tuscan Romans were inspired by this and other works of the same period.

Handu, designed by Alex Jacque in 2012, is an affable hand-drawn sans-serif inspired by the hand-painted type and signage on the streets of Kolkata, India. Fitting then that it come to life with brush and paint. When used for display purposes the organic, painted texture of Handu's glyphs really shines. At smaller point-sizes the hand-drawn aesthetic still translates. Handu comes in two styles, regular and shadow. Use each independently or overlay them for a little youthful emphasis.

Aztek emerged as a custom face for an ethno-music festival, and gradually developed a more robust, geometric base. The original ethno roots can still be seen in some of the alternative caps, and the ease with which Aztek forms decorative elements and borders. There is also an alternative “Tall Caps” set, that goes alongside normal uppercase characters as if they were Small Caps. The font features Latin (extended to support German and Polish) and Сyrillic character sets. Though Aztek is an accidental face designed primarily for display work, it holds well at smaller sizes and can endure high ink gain printing found in letterpress and silk-screen processes.

Balboat is a plain calligraphic face with a very small x-height, long descenders, and tall ascenders. Having the appearance of a pen-drawn sans serif, it has four styles: regular, bold, italic, and bold italic. Although Balboat is quite legible, it is condensed and may need to be printed at a larger point size than other typefaces.

This is a funky hand lettered font that just begs to be used for coffeehouse promo. It is best when used in sizes above 16 points and is even better when used for posters where it can be printed in giant sizes. It was hand drawn in Fractal Designs Painter with lots of little Doo-Dads.

This is a special font for use creating US Postal Service "Intelligent Mail" barcodes. Those are the barcodes you see on most cards and envelopes. Commercial mailers get the best pricing by printing barcodes when they address the mail, saving the Postal Service a step. The barcodes are also used on reply mail and Share mail, and for "Informed Visibility" tracking. Software to create these barcodes, including the USPS Intelligent Mail Small Business (IMsB) tool, typically provide an output of 65 characters, each character being an A, D, T or F, corresponding to each of the styles of bar. SmartBars 12 replaces those characters with the corresponding bar. When doing a mail merge to print addresses, the user would set the barcode field on their merge template to be printed using SmartBars 12, at 12 point, regular, and the barcode will print with the correct bars and at the required size to meet USPS requirements.

Holmes is a font based on Hispanic gang graffiti that is primarily seen on the west coast of the USA.

Designer RD was created in 1999, at the same time as Just Square and Why Square typefaces, and envisioned to be their rounded alternative. Zoran based the font on the logotype his son Nikola made and its primary purpose is to be used in logotypes, headlines, fliers, websites, etc. that are going for a hard geometric look. Designer RD’s character set supports Western European languages, as well as the Cyrillic script.

Mixtra is a versatile and complete type family designed by Bo Berndal. The three Mixtra family branches are Roman, Sansserif and Slabserif, each with a full set of weights. The Roman also has a Small Caps font. Combining the three family members is a good starting point for creating a coherent typographical design. Mixtra works well in magazines and all sorts of print in need of a strong visual identity. "Mixtra is a multiface", says Bo Berndal.
