Tabela is a family of typefaces inspired by the aesthetics of monospaced fonts. Its design, based on the monospaced font, preserves its characteristic elements. Its wide array of diacritics allows it to be used in most European languages.

The pattern for this typeface was suggested by a poster for beer, designed by German artist Ludwig Hohlwein around 1920. The plump curvy serifs suggested a great complement to beer, hot dogs, and thus the name translates roughly to “weiner wagon.” Prosit!
