Useful links: Using the variable font in Illustrator Working with a variable font in Photoshop TT Frantz is an experimental variable font, distinguished by its slimness and lightness. The variation in the font affects the change in the height of the mean line - by moving the axis adjustment slider you can easily raise or lower the mean line of the font. In TT Frantz, you can find small references to the art deco aesthetics, which are expressed in significantly lowered or, conversely, heightened waist of the letters. In addition, depending on the position of the axis adjustment slider, the closedness of the aperture changes for some letters. In order to preserve the main feature of the font—the change in the height of the main line—we made lowercase characters as tall as uppercase ones, but at the same time we kept small kerns. An interesting fact is that in Cyrillic letters з с а е, the variability of the aperture follows a different scenario in comparison with their Latin sisters. When working on TT Frantz, we tried to make it so that when changing the variability, the width of the characters would not change, and the font would remain monospaced. And in order to avoid holes in the set, we made contextual alternates and several ligatures. Frantz consists of 470 glyphs, and in addition to broad language support (Latin and Cyrillic) it can offer standard and old-style figures, including their tubular versions, as well as ligatures. KD Hachure is a display, geometric font with layering possibilities. Combine the two layers to achieve different color combinations or use them separately to achieve a completely different look. Kerning is optimized so that all latin letters are connected. With the default leading 120%, descenders connect with the top of accents. Set the leading to 100% manually if you want to connect descenders with the top of uppercase or ascender letters.

We have created this family as a complement to 1906 French News since the two type families were commonly in use in the same publications, including newspapers, popular books, calendars, almanacs and posters. This font, as its name suggests, was mainly used for titlings and subtitles. Small caps, included in the single file of the TTF and OTF versions, are added as a separate file in the MacTT version.

When my Taiji teacher gave all of his students a handwritten card with their name on I noticed that he had an unusual and beautiful handwriting. I persuaded him to write out each of the standard glyphs for me in return for me doing some repairs to his trousers! Earth Encounters Family is the result. Laca Text has characteristics like a bigger x-height, open counters, and smaller ascenders. It works better in smaller text than Laca because it keeps the structure without the stylistic features of Laca. Laca Text has more straight lines and follows the round shapes of Laca. Laca Text, as the name says, is more proper for long text but also for identity and branding.

Dearest John is the first font in the Love Letters series from Outside the Line. It is a bouncy hand lettered font. If you type caps and lower case you get one look. If you type all caps you get another look. Kind of 2 fonts for the price of one. I prefer to type caps and lower case and then go back in and tweak the headline a little to get the look I want. Dearest John was seen in the 2011 Typodarium Page-A-Day Calendar on 12-9-2011.

JY Ætna was designed originally by Francesco Griffo in 1495, and appeared in a book by Cardinal Bembo the following year. The typeface was re-created by Jack Yan in 1994, in time for its 500th anniversary. The original x-heights, quaint letters and other niceties have been restored. An italic complement, based on the design by Giovantonio Tagliente, has also been developed. JY Ætna has been one of JY&A Fonts’ more popular families over the years, with some typographers preferring its taller ascenders and descenders for headline work.

As a result of fascination for East European type design, MRF couldn’t resist to make a unique interpretation of a typeface named Pracht. Originally made by the Czech type designer Carl Pracht in 1941–43. Having a rather calligraphic style both in regular and italic, MRF preferred it to be more straightforward and modern-looking. Back in 2006 when we first released our Happy Holidays font, we thought the War on Christmas was over! We'd taken down our Menorahs, our Christmas trees, reclining Buddhas and red, black and green Kwanzaa decorations, and were prepared to sprinkle nothing more than a little Season's Greetings over our end of year celebrations. When we saw our friends and neighbors at department stores, we'd greet them with a simple, cordial, non-denominational “Happy Holidays.” But the font showed up at our company party this year having learned over 200 new languages (and, it must be said, a little bit loaded on Stylistic Alternates) in a mood to celebrate EVERYTHING. It was wishing people happy Bodhi Day, Solstice, Festivus, you name it! It even brought (count 'em) THREE new outfits based on the colors of Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. WEG* font is an experimental type system where legibility isn’t the focus. This project studies how glyphs are constructed and how their ductus can be modified. I explored how far I can move the limits if I don’t worry about the legibility. In Weg, letters are built by a single line that connects them, along with words and paragraphs. When weight decreases, the legibility of the signs increases. This is the first stage. It’s a project in expansion. The set contains uppercase, lining figures and basic punctuation in three weights: Regular, Light and Thin. The current supported languages are Spanish, Guaraní and English. If you need any other language, please let me know. I would like to expand the character set. Second stage project WEG is an experimental in-expansion font family. Here I present to you the second stage. I’m planning the first upgrade for middle 2021. I’m preparing a pattern set for July 2021. Here you can see the first four patterns. JennerikInfml is a friendly, casual typeface family that has the appearance of neat hand printing. It began as the italics to Jennerik, but I ended up separating it and giving it a different set of upper-case letters.
