I have a lot of pencils, but when I need one, they seem to have grown legs and have disappeared! When I decided I wanted to create a pencil font, it took me a long time to find the right pencil for the job! Wandering Pencil is a nice, handmade font. It is a bit shaky, a bit rough, but it does have class and will look nice on your designs! Comes with diacritics and double letter ligatures for the lower case.

Byte 105 is a modular font, resulting from experiments in creating a practical, legible font from a minimum set of geometric components on a uniform grid. It has full upper and lower case character sets and includes all accented characters for Western and Central European languages. It's available in three styles – 105, 205 and 305. Each style has different corners, 105 is square, 205 is bevelled and 305 is round. Each style is available in three weights, Light, Medium and Bold.

BeneCryptine is not based on any particular calligraphic type style. It has exaggerated upper-case letters and hyperactive lower-case letters that give it a wild and undisciplined look. It comes in four styles: the base style, a decayed variant, a shadowed style, and a final style that looks much like the base style but which has the spacing of the shadowed style. This last style can be layered with the shadowed style to easily create lettering with two colors.

Updated in 2009, Chennai has new weights and OpenType features. Chennai is a simplified sans-serif with a full complement of OpenType alternates. Jonquin was inspired by some hand lettering seen on a World -War One recruiting poster. I made this font using my index finger and Chinese ink. I thought the ink would come off easily, but I can tell you: it doesn’t. I have been walking around with a black stained finger for a week now and I do get strange looks from people every so often… Fingerfood, of course, is hand made. It is a rather playful font - all caps, but lower and upper case differ and like to mingle. Comes with a full diacritics palette.

I have always liked Scandinavian folklore, although I have to admit that I didn’t know about the Fossegrim. Fossegrim is a fiddle or harp playing water sprite - usually friendly, but he has been known to lure children and women in deep water with his music. Fossegrim font is a little bit weird as well: I made it using a broken bamboo satay skewer and Chinese ink. It comes with extensive language support and a set of alternates for the lower case letters.

A faux Thai font - but not over the top, just stylishly hinting at the foreign script. I have introduced lots of alternate glyphs, so it now has both lower- and uppercase letterfoms. The Morgan Project can be considered a big type family with ‘many styles’ or a set of different types that match with each other. For me it’s one typeface with different versions with deliberate and visible differences according to the propose to which each version was created. The design started in 2000 as a display type with the design of the Morgan Tower, to which more two display versions were added; Morgan Poster and Morgan Big — all together the make our: FTF Morgan Display Kit 1. All three versions consist only in uppercase with alternate letters in the lowercase and a set of special ligatures. Morgan Tower has four variants that differ in width/weight, Morgan Poster has six variants (often called styles), three weights in upright and oblique and Morgan Big has twelve, six weights in upright and oblique. Yet again, a font inspired by my work as a kindergarten teacher! The other day, I had a conversation with some of the kids, about what they ate for breakfast. Some had oatmeal, some bread and others yogurt. But this kid - he insisted that every morning, his mother would serve him cookies, “morning cookies”. It sounded too good to be true, and when I asked his mother, it turned out that “cookies” were actually bread, but to make it sound more appetising, they called it cookies! The letters are rounded and in some way quite naive, but still clear and legible. With an extreme ascender and descender, the font stands out with its oddities. I’ve added 3 different versions of each lowercase letter!

“Byblos” is the name of a town in Lebanon and the name of a famous hotel in St. Tropez. Some time ago I discovered their original logo in an old french magazine, just 5 by 3 centimeters small without any text, address, telephone number not even a picture. They did not need that, that’s how famous the hotel and its old logo was. Well they abandoned their identity when the place was sold to a big chain – I think. But the logotype, just those five letters inspired me to this new font. It evokes times past and has a little Bauhaus in it – as well as a really modern touch, all depends on the way you use it. Shift, Alphabet keys will give you caps Mah Jongg characters, tiles beside a letter of the alphabet. The "lower case" alphabet is the same letter font used in the caps but without a tile. The regular keys "1 through 9" are the actual Crack tiles with the correct oriental glyph. Numerals to match the "lower case" are found using Shift and the Number keys.
