This font is one of the most used broken letter fonts today. Fette Fraktur is used to invoke a nostalgic or rustic feeling and found often on restaurants with hearty homemade food’ or breweries who use the good old recipes’ of the founder. The font was designed in the 19th century and from the beginning intended as an advertisement typeface. The lower case letters have a gothic character with only the ornamental flourishes making them broken letters, while the capital letters are more characteristic of broken letter typefaces. One could say Fette Fraktur is a true mix of styles, not unusual for typefaces created at the turn of the 19th century.

The letters in Bouncer are round because they all begin as a ball and then have parts of the ball cut away. Bouncer was one of the earliest typefaces from Ingrimayne Type. Lower-case letters are smaller versions of the upper-case letters. BouncerTwo, designed twenty years after the original Bouncer, continues playing with the idea of making letters by cutting out parts of a circle, but in this case the circles are interlocking. All letters are upper-case but some of those on the lower-case keys differ from those on the upper-case keys. BouncerTwo is eye-catching but not highly legible.

The Trellis font family was an effort to combine my love for Art Nouveau and storybook lettering. The capital letters are intricately illustrated and fully appreciated when magnified. Trellis is a font family decidedly decorative and ready for greeting cards and holiday cheer. I was inspired by Storybook caps for the capital letters, and wanted to combine it with some lettering from early 20th century posters. What are its main characteristics and features? Leaves intertwined and growing out of the ends of the capital letters. Although it's highly decorative, it remains legible. ITC Chivalry is a calligraphic hybrid that honors the tradition of combining Roman capitals with italic lowercase letters. Drawn by Missouri lettering artist Rob Leuschke, who used a flat-nib pen on textured watercolor stock and then converted the drawings into a digital font, the design combines an old world" feel with "new world" legibility. A companion set of black letter caps completes the suite of characters. "I've loved drawing letters for as long as I can remember," says Leuschke. "Even in kindergarten, I tried to draw letters like my teacher." After graduating from college, Leuschke worked for a short time at a sign company in St. Louis, and in the early 1980s began working at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City. His talent as a calligrapher and lettering artist eventually brought him back to St. Louis to begin a freelance career. Since then Leuschke has created over 250 fonts, primarily for the greeting card industry, that are now being used on work for his clients all over the world. Leuschke first conceived of the face as just the black letter caps; he later added the Roman letters to give the design more versatility. Vitrina is a script based on letterforms painted on a window for a restaurant called "Latin American Cafeteria". Its quirky script forms are meant to evoke a sense of hand painted signage. Vitrina means "store front window" in Spanish.

A European font from Bauer's foundry was the inspiration for the caps in the font. There was no lowercase, so we designed one. Although the original font was intended for display lines in advertising, our version reads quite well in smaller point sizes, too.

An early design, but it has its moments. It is very narrow and spindly in the vertical strokes, so it really only makes sense to use fairly large point sizes, and for short phrases. Vowels are included, and just for variety, cantillations are also included

Rotwobot is a loveable modern typeface with a slight retro appeal. It comes with quite a lot of ligatures and also robots and musical instruments. The font features auto ligatures for duplicate letters, many connected letters, quite a few graphical elements that can be accessed by shortcuts (lowercase letter + number form 0-9) and smallcaps.

The hand lettered title found on the sheet music for 1938’s "So Help Me (If I Don't Love You)" was the basis for Totally Deco JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. A classic mix of widely rounded letters and condensed letters typifies the design style of the Art Deco era.

March may be a good time to use this typeface. PattyDay is a caps-only typeface in which the letters are decorated with shamrocks or clovers. Some but not all of the lower-case letters are different from the upper-case letters. If you want a version of this face without the shamrocks, try Ingone.

Moore 003 was inspired by Henryk Tomaszewski's poster lettering for the Moore Exibition (Warsaw, Poland 1959). The headline "Moore" is composed of paper collage. The lettering, in Tomaszewski's vision, contrasts in ways that recall the contrast of Moore's sculptures. It was my intention to continue this research using lettering in the form of a typeface.
