Green Fairy is a chromatic font family highly ornamented for display purposes. Green Fairy’s characters have been specifically designed to accommodate its loops and ornaments following a modern typeface structure. Green Fairy has four chromatic weights: 1. Green Fairy Outline 2. Green Fairy Dots 3. Green Fairy Stencil 4. Green Fairy Full The outline weight has been created as the base or structure for the other weights. You can combine these weights as well as add colours to obtain multiple effects and type styles. Green Fairy Full Combo GREEN FAIRY ORIGINS The origin of this typeface is the lettering I designed in October 2015 as part of my illustrated cocktail artwork called “Absinthe. La Fée Verte (The Green Fairy)”. Originally, this lettering only featured eight letters “AB·SINTHE” vector drawn in Illustrator. Right after creating the full-colour artwork, I designed a fountain-letterpress print version of it, in collaboration with Ladies of Letters, A.K.A. Carla Hackett and Amy Constable from Saint Gertrude Fine Printing. At the beginning of 2016 –and thanks to the project @36daysoftype– I found the motivation, and most importantly the deadline, to draw the rest of the twenty-six letters of the uppercase alphabet using Illustrator. I started 2017 having my first two calligraphy courses sold out, so I took this amazing opportunity to devote myself to Green Fairy for a few months. In February 2017, I purchased the font software Glyphs and I started to re-draw all twenty-six letters of the uppercase alphabet again. PRODUCTION PROCESS Green Fairy started being one weight, but quickly turned into a layered/chromatic font. Things were going more or less fine till I arrived to the Dots weight: 1) I started drawing squares following a grid; 2) Then, the squares turned into diamonds following the same grid; 3) Then, the grid wasn’t working so well on the round letters so I tried randomising the position of the diamonds but it didn’t work; 4) So I went back to the grid, and this time scaled down the size of the diamonds creating a visual half-tone effect. I spent over four weeks working on the Dots weight and I felt like I was in the middle of a very long tunnel and I couldn’t see the light at the end. I encountered many other problems along the way but by June 2017, I felt I was back on track again. I kept working, tweaking, re-drawing and re-adjusting, and then the diacritics came on board… And then more re-drawing, re-tweaking, re-adjusting and then numbers… And then spacing, symbols, and currencies… And then more spacing, kerning, contextual kerning for triplets… In September 2017 I told myself “that’s it, I’m going to finish it now!” But guess what? More re-tweaking, testing, hinting, testing, rendering, testing… For those of you not familiarized with typeface design, it is extremely time consuming and it requires a lot of hard work, focus and determination. Bay Tavern is the first weathered version of our Tavern font that's based on Algerian. With three weights, open faced and outline versions to choose from you're sure to find the right style for your new project, restaurant menu, logo, t-shirt design or Pirate costume party. Bay Tavern includes all the same alternates as our regular Tavern font family. While our original Tavern font has been increased to include five weights additional weights for Bay Tavern will have to wait for now, adding the notched cut in's were all done by hand which causes a lot of cramping so a long break is needed before creating the extra weights. The Fill fonts in the Bay Tavern family are meant to be used with Bay Tavern Open fonts, if you're using Bay Tavern Open then select Bay Tavern Fill, if you're using Bay Tavern Open L then select Bay Tavern Fill L, if you're using Bay Tavern Open S then select Bay Tavern Fill S, if you're using Bay Tavern Open SL then select Bay Tavern Fill SL, the same rule goes for the Open X version.

Mofid Mahdi is a distinctive, bold Arabic display face, suitable for heading and titling work in Arabic newspaper and magazine composition. In this typeface the rounded internal counters and dots contrast with the angular and more robust outlines of the letterforms to give a decorative, harlequin-like appearance. The design was originally developed for use in dry-transfer format, and was first produced as a digital font by Linotype-Hell Ltd. in the early 1980s. Initially a simplified face, with its inherent limited range of letterforms, Mofid Mahdi was enhanced during the late 1980s by the introduction of medial letterforms to improve character spacing and balance. The recent advent of OpenType has led to the release of Mofid Mahdi. This OpenType font includes Latin glyphs from Memphis Extra Bold, allowing users to set text in both most Western European and Arabic languages without switching between fonts. Mofid Mahdi incorporates the Basic Latin character set and the Arabic character set, which supports Arabic, Persian, and Urdu. The font also includes tabular and proportional Arabic, Persian, and Urdu numerals, as well as a set of tabular European (Latin) numerals.

The first versions of Nimbus Sans have been designed and digitized in the 1980s for the URW SIGNUS sign-making system. Highest precision of all characters (1/100 mm accuracy) as well as spacing and kerning were required because the fonts should be cut in any size in vinyl or other material used for sign-making. During this period three size ranges were created for text (T), the display (D) and poster (P) for small, medium and very large font sizes. In addition, we produced a so-called L-version that was compatible to Adobe’s PostScript version of Helvetica. Nimbus was also the product name of a URW-proprietary renderer for high quality and fast rasterization of outline fonts, a software provided to the developers of PostScript clone RIPs (Hyphen, Harlequin, etc.) back then. Also in the 80s, a new, improved version of the Nimbus Sans, namely Nimbus Sans Novus was designed. Nimbus Sans Novus was conceptually developed entirely with URW’s IKARUS system, i.e. all styles harmonize perfectly with each other in terms of line width, weight, proportions, etc. On top of that, Nimbus Sans Novus contains more styles than Nimbus Sans.

Kamui is a font designed by Carlos Fabian Camargo G. and used to write headlines. Its strategy makes it ideal for covers and advertisements with Japanese-style manga comics requiring latin style. Precisely its purpose was inspired by typographical classics such as Mistral by R. Excoffon and Zapfino by H. Zapf that then were diluted by separate strokes as blackletter calligraphy. However, high doses of miscegenation and lettering untimely torn between 50% esthetic and 50% legibility. That way his radical expression is highly profitable for composing and designing words and phrases with Eastern look. And more importantly, the writing seems drawn quickly with thin-tipped brush staining over a rough surface, from that process comes the idea of corroded outlines and changes in contrast. In conclusion, some diagonal strokes, horizontal, curved and vertical stand or hide from their simulation of scarcity or abundance of ink clots. That way each stroke seems inconsistent, footprint of the 423 brush drawing glyphs in Regular Kamuy. In that sense, the OpenType features included are: Standard Ligatures, Contextual Alternates, discretionary ligatures, swash, stylistic alternates, alternatives for titles, ordinals, fractions. And to end the Variable “Kamuy Dingbats” has is 52 fictitious drawings and zamurais.

Wingman consists of nine fonts, that can work together in perfect harmony to create beautiful designs. Like a true wingman they reinforce each others potential and offer mutual support. Typer Pro (formerly Consul Typewriter Pro) is a modern OpenType font family reviving the look of old typewriters. Its carefully converted forms are detailed enough even for high pointsizes while keeping a reasonable number of outline points. Typer Pro comes in two variants: Typer Pro Mono is strictly monospaced (all characters occupy the same amount of horizontal space – this way old typewriters usually operated). However, sometimes a more even appearance may be desirable. Therefore, Typer Pro Text has been proportionally altered for a more pleasant and balanced look. Moreover, it is possible to achieve both proportional and monospaced look in both families via Stylistic Sets. You can choose from four different weights in each family and pick characters from its extensive glyph set. Typer also contains a number of Stylistic alternates, randomly replaced alternative letters to avoid the repetition of letters in a word. A year after the tremendous success of Memoriam in the "Lives They Lived" issue of the New York Times magazine at the end of 2008, Patrick Griffin and Nancy Harris Rouemy teamed up once more to tackle the same project for the 2009 issue. This time the magazine's design concept revolved around a typeface they created specifically for custom vertical malleability, and that can play just as well in single- or multi-color environments. The result was another iconic commemorative issue that shows exotic tri-line letters merging, swashing, extending and flourishing in stunning gold, silver and blue on black on the cover, and in black on white on the inside pages. Just like in the previous year, the issue won multiple publication design and typography awards. Crescendo is that typeface, finally issued for retail by public demand. Just turn your setting into outlines in your favorite vector program, grab single strands and extend away, and do your best alternating colours between strands. Crescendo comes with a limited punctuation set, but accented characters for Western Latin languages are included, and there many, many alternates and ligatures in there as well. This typeface is best used in large display sizes.

My affection for Slab Serifs began in the early 1960s in Kansas City when Rob Roy Kelly was at the Kansas City Art Institute, teaching and writing his book on American Wood Type. I got to know him just well enough to gain access to his fabulous collection of wood type and wood type catalogs. Later, in the1970s, I tried to re-create a Nebiolo Egiziano for Roger Black at New West magazine. And again for Roger, in the 1980s, I designed a Slab Serif logo for Newsweek Magazine. Finally, in 2003, designed the Sutro Family. There were things I didn't like about it, so, over time, I’ve been adding some things and dressing it up a little. Sutro Shaded has existed for a few years as a one color, outlined, drop-shadowed display font. It seemed like it was just dying for a little color. I added five more fonts: Fill, Gradient, Hatching, Rules and HiLite. These fonts can be used in different combinations to achieve various effects. The Fluze Fonts This is the 21st font release from CozyFonts Foundry, a California Font Foundry established in 2011 with it’s first Official Release in 2012 with the Aladdin Bold Family. Inspirations for the design of this font family, by California Graphic Designer/Illustrator/Font Designer Tom Nikosey, is based on the wacky, weird & quirky films that have graced the screen with their offbeat styles and characters. Movies that come to mind are Mary Poppins, Beetlejuice, Wizard of Oz, Edward Scissorhands, Alice in Wonderland, Little Shop of Horrors, Addams Family, Labyrinth, Ghostbusters, etc. The absurd, the sublime, the animated, the scary, and the illustrated are all descriptors to define the possibilities Of the many uses and applications of Fluze and Flute Outline as presented in a sampling of the posters here. The intentional crooked hand drawn’ glyphs and extras lend their personalities to create this effect. Whether in black, white & grays or psychedelic color combos, Fluze can be comical, frightening and Downright irreverent. The Whimsies series goes further in our fixation with invented little people: the three dingbats of this series contain mostly imaginary situations, drawn first with ink on paper. All but a tiny fraction of the illustrations (a total of 114) have been drawn from one's imagination, with no previous models. The themes depicted here are varied and often humorous, though the humour is on the darker side, you are warned. The themes have a definite retro - victorian feel, with top hats, moustaches, long coats, walking canes and the like. Together with their close relatives, our Illustries, Bizarries, Ombres, Absurdies and Genteta dingbats (we give this bizarre collective the common name of Whimbats) you can use the Whimsies in an endless variety of projects, ranging from small spot illustration to whole pages, page spreads or posters applications. You can use them as they come in the digital font, or customize them easily in your favourite graphics program. A touch of texture or color will give them a completely new look. The vectorial nature of digital fonts means you can enlarge them to any size, with no loss of crispness in their outlines.

With Behrens Ornaments SIAS presents a historic revival font for the very first time. Peter Behrens (1868–1940) was a German designer and architect rooted in the style of the Art nouveau era but later became one of the most prolific exponents of the modernist movement in the 1920ies and 1930ies. The design of typographic ornaments was one of many fields of his activities. The “Behrens Schmuck” set of adornment types layed dormant for many decades, known only to letterpress freaks and specialists. After 100 years, with this release SIAS celebrates one of the creative masterminds in German design history, unearthing a treasury of 80 unique ornaments and embellishment pieces for nowaday’s use. In order to attain a faithful remake as authentic as possible, the Behrens ornaments have been photographically reproduced from a 1914 specimen book. The outlines have been edited carefully to minimize accidental visual disturbances, yet the main goal was to keep the “smell” of the original letterpress printing as good as possible. If you like fine ornaments you should also have a look at Arthur Ornaments, Andron Ornaments and Leipziger Ornamente.

Shelflife is a display typeface with some extras under the lid. It features all the Standard Open-Type features you'd expect, like Class Kerning and Ligatures, plus some other useful additions and of course accented characters for most European languages and others. In essence it's an easy-to-read headline font with clean lines and a bit of character. There's an outline version that can be layered with the standard version to give the shadow effect seen in the accompanying graphics, simplicity itself to do. There's boxed headlines for SALE, SPECIAL, DISCOUNT (20 in total) all ready-made, plus some which can be tilted at an angle, and done automatically - just easily typed in; easy-to-do bullet numbers; a choice of square or rounded dots on j,ffi, and so on in Stylistic Alternatives; and shorter alternatives for U and N with accents. Details are included in the zip files. The zip file will contain both the OTF and TTF versions of the font. Install only one version, either the OTF or TTF, but not both - otherwise you will get all sorts of incompatibility issues and problems.

Mariachi is a new condensed version of our Maison Luxe font which is a revival of an old 1800's classic ornate French font. This new 2021 condensed version takes this old classic to an all new level by adding small caps, italics and a new solid black version. Mariachi is perfect for headlines and logos from advertising to product labels, t-shirt lettering and restaurant menus. Fill fonts are also part of this family, new to this font style is the half fill font for creating a two color effect on the letters, you'll need an application that works in layers to use the fill fonts in Mariachi. The regular fill font for Mariachi isn't meant to be used as a stand alone font so we've created a solid black version with thicker serifs on top and adjusted outlines throughout for a better appearance as a solo font. The difference between Mariachi and our Mi Casa font is that Mariachi has a squared off shadow on the top half of the letters. We hope you enjoy Mariachi as much as we did making it. This font began its life as a project to design a T-shirt for a student group on a large midwestern university. It has now grown up into a unicode font, including Greek and Cyrillic. It has that look and feel of the T-shirts that are ubiquitous on the campuses of colleges and universities over the world. It would make an ideal tool for designing them, as well as posters and banners. Characters in these fonts include Latin, for English and other European languages; small a and c for names like MacDonald; many fractions, including 0/3 needed in baseball; Latin with diacritical marks for Eastern and Western European, Turkish, and Baltic languages; thorn, eth, cedilla, AE, OE, and sharp S for French, German, Icelandic; Latin extensions for clicks of some African languages; Greek (with tonos); Cyrillic for Russian and many other Slavic and Asian languages that use it; most Runes (the full Futhark plus a few more); six-point Brialle; currency symbols for dollar, cent, pound, yen, euro; and a few other extras like the peace sign. A three-dimensional all-cap font for title use, Thorowgood Sans Shaded was released by the Fann Street Foundry of W. Thorowgood & Co. in 1839. Interestingly, it more closely resembles Figgins' Four-Line Emerald Sans-Serif Shaded of 1833 than Fann Street’s own Grotesque Shaded of 1834 (with light and shadow reversed). The idea of a shaded font is of an outline font whose letters have each been extruded through a die and then viewed from the lower right to reveal the third dimension. That third dimension has also been referred to as a shadow. Vincent Figgins' 1815-release of a shaded serif typeface was the first known of many shaded faces, as the other foundries rushed to bring out their own versions. Thorowgood Sans Shaded may be gainfully used today as a eye-catching headline font, just as it was so popularly used in the early nineteenth century. To assist with the usual all-cap letter-spacing problem, the following pre-kerned pairs are included: AT, AV, AW and AY. UTOPIAN is a color font family based on primary colors and pure geometric shapes, influenced by Bauhaus, DeStijl and Art Deco. Its pure shapes and basic colors are inspired by the beauty of simplicity of modular order and grid, creating a perfect environment where all these elements live in a perfect color harmony. In the other hand, DYSTOPIAN, the black and white family, represents a close sibling in appearance and structure, that carries an opposite meaning, with a darker look and feel. Both typefaces are, somehow, a reflection of the divided views and posible outcomes that the future times ahead yield before us. Package: Utopian/Dystopian comes in file with a pre-defined color palette. You can always change the colors converting the text to outlines. Comalle is an organic typeface that rescues some elements of handwritten script, but its stroke does not necessarily answer to a literal calligraphy structure. So Comalle could produce a powerful impact on the page, it was designed with thicker strokes than its counter forms. The objective is that the black of the letter fills the page and causes a fastest visual impact than typographies that balance blacks and whites. One of the most important tasks of the Comalle design was to think of how to handle the unequal percentages of blacks and whites in the typeface. The peculiar thing, is that the precision work of the letter does not make the blacks, but the whites; this is the reason why in one first instance it was very valid to start off designing in a very gross way, nevertheless, the majority energies are put in the details of the design of counter space. From the drained filling concept of forms Comalle was born, a typeface that pretends to enchant with its delicate counter space design and to impact with the heavy outlines which compose its form.

Jugendstil Initials were designed by Heinrich Vogeler around 1905, based on the German blackletter tradition. A similar set of initials by Vogeler, but based on roman letters was released by Rudhardsche Geisserei of Offenbach at about this time. I believe the originals were woodcuts. The backgrounds to the letterforms may be seen as examples of Heimatkunst, an art movement within Germany that drew deliberate inspiration from the rural countryside. Like the Arts and Crafts Movement in England a little earlier, Heimatkunst may be seen, in part, as a romantic rejection of urban industrialization, while at the same time representing a back-to-roots nationalism. Like any river, it was fed by many streams. Jugendstil Initials is an experiment with which I am most pleased. It is far and away the most complex font HiH has produced and I was uncertain whether or not it could be done successfully. To oversimplify, a font is produced by creating outlines of each character, using points along the outline to define the contour. A simple sans-serif letter A with crossbar can be created using as few as 10 points. We decided to make a comparison of the number of points we used to define the uppercase A in various fonts. Cori, Gaiety Girl and Page No 508 all use 12 points. Patent Reclame uses 39 and Publicity Headline uses 43. All the rest of the A’s, except the decorative initials, fall somewhere in between. The initial letters run from 48 points for Schnorr Initials to 255 for Morris Initials Two, with 150 being about average. Then there is a jump to 418 points for Morris Initials One and, finally, to 1626 points for Jugendstil Initials. And this was only after we selectively simplified the designs so our font creation software (Fontographer) could render them. The average was 1678, not including X and Y. There was no X and Y in the original design and we have provided simple stand-ins to fill out the alphabet, without trying to imitate the style of the orginal design. We did a lot of looking to find a compatible lower case. We decided that Morris Gothic from the same period was the best match in color, design and historical context. We felt so strongly about the choice that we decided to produce our Morris Gothic font for the purpose of providing a lower case for Jugendstil Initials. The long s, as well as the ligatures ch and ck are provided. at 181, 123 (leftbrace) and 125 (rightbrace) respectively. This font was a lot of work, but I think it was worth it. I hope you agree.

Doublethink was developed from lettering drawn in the 1960s by Vinko Ožić-Pajić and used on the shop fronts of Yugoslavian state-owned clothes company Standard Konfekcija. The original design has been reinterpreted and expanded and is offered as a two weight typeface—Doublethink Medium and Doublethink Bold Inline. Standard Konfekcija was established first as a military fabric company and later became the premier fashion brand outlet in the Communist state of Yugoslavia. It is famous for being the first shop in the country to offer plastic bags (Standard Konfekcija stores ceased trading after the fall of Communism).

The font borrows some playful capital shapes from the all caps Baronessa and draws inspiration for others from old classics.
