“Tsubu” (つぶ) means something small and round, like a fruit seed or a grain of rice in Japanese. All characters are completely geometric, consisting of no more than 5 x 12 dots, with a few exceptions. And proportional and monospace styles are available. It is recommended that letter spacing be set to 0 to maintain dot pitch. When the line height is set to 100%, the dot pitch is aligned horizontally and vertically, resulting in a beautiful geometric display.

I love riding English double decker buses! I haven’t been on one lately, but for some reason I had an image of a red double decker bus in my head when I made this font. Doubledecker is a bold, cartoon-like, handmade font. It comes in regular and dots, plus a bonus doodle font called Doubledecker Stuff. My font Ribbonshoe is created with Power Point shapes Block Arc and Punched Tape and they resemble ribbons and horse shoes. This font is very unique, stylish and very attractive to the eye.

Lucida Sans Typewriter adapts the humanized look of Lucida Sans to the fixed pitch of typewriter fonts, in which all letters have the same set width. The vertical proportions, strong stem weights, and crisp details of Lucida Sans are continued in the Lucida Sans Typewriter font family. The result is a strong, clear, fixed-pitch design that can be used wherever a functional, legible monospaced font is needed, in typewritten correspondence, memos, and telefaxes, in commercial forms, invoices, and packing lists, in programming and data processing applications, and in line printer emulations and terminal emulations. Lucida Sans Typewriter is economical in setting: at a 10 point size, it is equivalent to a 12 pitch typewriter font. For improved legibility in long lines of 80 characters or more, users can add extra line spacing, equivalent to 20% or more of the font size. When proportional fonts are needed for text to accompany Lucida Sans Typewriter, then Lucida Bright can be used.

Samples of vintage machine-punched stencils used for marking crates and cartons were spotted in an online auction. These served as the basis for Industrial Stencil JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Arrieta is a versatile typeface family designed to serve various design purposes. It combines the traditional mechanical typography process of punch cutting with the expressive strokes of a nib pen, resulting in a reliable, angled typeface.

Naroid Initials JNL is one of the most ultra-compressed sets of initials available in digital type. These twenty-six initials are so narrow that a test print with all of the letters at 2-1/2 inches in height took up no more than about 5 inches in width!

A few scant examples of some condensed Roman style water-applied decals inspired Sign Letters JNL. The decals were once part of the gold and black "Signmaker" letters and numbers once manufactured by the Duro Decal Company of Chicago and were sold through hardware and variety stores across the country. The condensed letters (which were eight inches in height) did not sell as well as Duro's mainstay sizes of 1/2 inch to 3-1/2 inches and were discontinued long before the rest of the line was supplanted by self-adhesive lettering.

Roman Stencil JNL is a condensed version of the classic Roman typeface found on many vintage hand-punched brass stencils made for packing and shipping merchandise. This digital interpretation is available in both regular and oblique styles.

Valvolina is a bold headline font inspired by Italian Futurism and the Moderne graphic design of the inter-war period. It uses elementary geometric shapes to build its characters, lending it an energy and punch. Dramatic and contemporary.

Chive Turkey JNL is a solid version of Jeff Levine's inline font, Toucan Tango JNL. This bold and sassy sans serif has the great retro look of hand lettering and can really add some punch to ad copy.

Firmin Didot cut the first modern face about 1784 in Paris; Giambattista Bodoni followed prolifically on his heels; his punches and matrices survive in Parma. Bauer has produced the most faithful and delicate contemporary version of his types.

I named this font after one of my favorite songs by Soundgarden: "Rusty Cage". The font is a mishmash of letters, which were hand-drawn and given a photoshop overhaul to make them look grungy and grotesque. I mixed upper and lower case letters, added a whole bunch of alternate letters, spooned in some Salt and Calt and added a pinch of Liga as well. The result is a weird concoction, which looks good on posters, in ads and possibly even tattoos. I dare you!

A vintage brass stencil for an individual or company named ‘Rodrigues’ was spotted in an online auction. The hand punched, condensed Roman lettering inspired the digital typeface Nameplate Stencil JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Ten Oldstyle is a four-weight type family from Principal Designer Robert Slimbach at Adobe. He designed it as the Latin component of Ten Mincho, a Japanese typeface by Adobe?s Chief Designer Ryoko Nishizuka. As it began to take the form of a small type family, Robert decided to release Ten Oldstyle on its own as well.

Mayblossom was named after an old French fairytale (The Princess Mayblossom),which is quite similar to the tale of Sleeping Beauty. Mayblossom font is a fairytale font. It was made with a magic wand (with a Unicorn hair core) onto centuries old parchment. The font was then blessed by 12 lovely fairies. Of course, I had the evil thirteenth one kidnapped before she could cast her spell. In other words, if your work requires a certain lightness, a pinch of fairy dust and a sprinkling of magic, then Mayblossom is your best pick.

I like playing around with brushes and Chinese ink. I always have some kind of idea of what the final design should look like, but once it’s done, it never ever looks like what I had in mind. Apex Brush is one of those designs: it started off as a few brush strokes, but before I knew it, I had a really nice set of matching brush fonts! Use it for any design that needs a bit of rough, a splash of ink and a pinch of rebel.

The solid technical appearance has been achieved through careful optical adjustment, resulting in a modern and stylish font that stands out in the crowd. This is not a stencil font. At least it isn't intended to be. The foundation for the entire font comes from a progression in experimental rules on stroke intersections (pinching, separating) while maintaining proportions and elements from a more conventional typeface. More latitude was given to the unicase "Fat" face but still retains the overall flavor of the original. The end result is a typeface that's hard to categorize as any one personality. Most likely a good candidate for logo, display, or headline work, the applications for Encoder are yet undeciphered.

Gerbera is a new sans-serif with a distinct personality that fuses geometric and organic elements. It is at once hip and quaint, clear yet idiosyncratic, restrained but sensual. Vegetability: “The quality or state of being vegetable”. Yes, I know: it’s kinda weird, but I quite like the name of this font! I am trying to become a vegetarian (I am a ‘flexitarian’ right now) and I was trying to find a good veggie recipe for dinner, when this name crossed my mind. Vegetability is a handwritten font with a dash of roughness, a splash of attitude and a pinch of class. Comes with a whole bunch of diacritics and double letter ligatures for the lower case letters.

NixonScript is a display typeface inspired by the typographic emancipation given voice by 1950s and '60s north American vernacular type. NixonScript's starting point was lettering found on a 1960s camera found in a Chicago junk shop, but its development saw it transformed from a punchy sans-serif to a more thoughtful serif, with a lowered x-height and a vibe of almost priestly piousness. Rather than a simple regular italic, a bold italic is offered. During its development, the regular version seemed almost placid but with the double emphasis of bold and italic, NixonScript gained an energetic, self-congratulatory form.

Pila, designed by Alex Jacque in 2014, is a modular, sans-serif stencil typeface that comes in regular and condensed formats. Crafted to be a bold, punchy, no-nonsense stencil typeface, Pila owes its unique look — as well as its name — to its adherence to the rigid modular system it is built upon. Pila is meant to be used at larger point sizes where visual impact is desired. Pila has a broad glyph set with the necessary characters to support a wide number of languages. Through the use of OpenType Pila can automatically create fractions as well as create superscript and subscript numerals.
