Based on Morris Fuller Benton's 1905 oeuvre American Extra Condensed, this titling face packs a lot of information into very little horizontal space. Its champfered corners give the font an industrial feel which remains fresh even after more than a century. Both versions include the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets, with localization for Lithuanian, Moldovan and Romanian.

Thunderbird is an old American-style typeface. It is based on the kinds of big wood type that were popular in old Wild West advertising, which is evident through its ornate serifs, and the pointy flares that pop in and out of the centers of each stroke. Thunderbird is an all caps font and is best used in very large sizes.

A classic typeface with timeless appeal, based on the venerable Weiss Initials II, designed by Eric Rudolf Weiss for Bauersche Gießerei in 1931. Burobu, in case you’d like to know, means ‘blob’ in Japanese. I thought it was quite an appropriate name for this blob-like font! Burobu is a messy font and comes with a generous helping of jittery, jumping glyphs, exaggerated strokes and over-the-top arms, ties, bars and counters. Handmade Caslon JNL is a somewhat imperfect version of one of the many Caslon faces in use during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Based on vintage source material, Handmade Caslon JNL is the right typeface for projects reflecting antiquity, a hand-made look or where slightly imperfect lettering adds a bit of the "real world" to the message.

German type designer Ingrid Liche created this display FontFont in 1995. The family contains 3 weights: Regular, Medium, and Bold and is ideally suited for advertising and packaging, logo, branding and creative industries as well as poster and billboards. FF Liant provides advanced typographical support with features such as ligatures and case-sensitive forms. It comes with proportional lining figures.

Based loosely on Clarendon, Turpentine Kisses breaks all the rules of the classic serif fonts. It's jumpy and bouncy with a clear handmade look. It's playful yet legible, and full of personality. Beneath the dominant signifier of identity, a surprising dimension of Bodoni is revealed—its core architecture, stripped of the famous high contrast cloak. Further subverting typographic norms, a monoline of even width (in all but the heaviest weights) here describes capitals, lower case, and serifs. And yet a certain quaintness is evident; this is, after all, both deconstruction and historical fiction.

The design of Concert Series JNL is based on hand-lettering for a 1930s-era WPA (Works Progress Administration) poster for the Federal Music Project of New York City’s symphony concerts. Held every Sunday at the Theater of Music [located at 254 West 54th Street], the admission in those Depression-era days was 25 cents and 60 cents, with all seats reserved.

Durer Caps is three fonts in one. Based on master artist Albrecht Dürer’s 1525 geometric construction of Roman capitals, this font features A to Z as caps only. But there are three variations included: filled construction, unfilled construction, and the solid fill letters by themselves.The user can layer the unfilled and the solid fill letters to do two-color overlay effects.

This font was made possible by creating a custom brush in Illustrator. I started with a flat brush dipped in India ink to create the stroke. From a scan of that stroke I made a vector tracing which I then I altered as necessary to get the desired dimensions. The lower case letters have a thinner stroke than the capitals.

Warning: works with contextual alternate-feature, which is not showing here. Matita Connected is part of a larger type family developed from 2005-2019 with handwriting in mind. Dutch type designer Just van Rossum created this display FontFont in 1992. The font is ideally suited for advertising and packaging, film and tv as well as music and nightlife. FF Dynamoe provides advanced typographical support with features such as ligatures. It comes with tabular lining figures. As well as Latin-based languages, the typeface family also supports the Greek writing system.

Steve Jackaman & Ashley Muir. Packard Old Style is based on lettering drawn by Oswald Cooper for the Packard Motor Company (ATF 1913). The bold weight is credited to Morris Fuller Benton (ATF 1916), but it is highly probable that Benton did the adaptation for both weights. Dusty Hands - my crunchy legible comic font, originally with a fat marker and then digitally manipulated. All versions have the "contextual alternates magic" - and in this case it means 4 slightly different versions of each lowercase letter.

Eurotypo SII is a sibling of our Eurotypo Sans family and is composed of two Expanded weights and six Condensed styles. Each font of Eurotypo SII contain 359 glyphs and advanced typographical support with OpenType features such as ligatures, discretional ligatures and case-sensitive forms. It also contain diacritics for Central European languages. All aspect of readability and accurate kerning were carefully controlled.

Leisoll Reef is an elegant modern calligraphy script created mostly for feminine designs - branding projects, social media, wedding invitation, labels, greeting cards, packaging, logo design, news, titling, headlines, posters, signboards and more. It features multi language support (for most of Western Europe), contains 256 glyphs with some Open Type features - standard ligatures, alternates for low case letters (beginning and ending swashes).

Is This the End has three different ornamental endpieces ready to use in end chapters, final pages in books, magazines and several artistic representations. Intellecta Design researched these endpieces from the very rare Richard Gans type catalogue from 1882.

Here’s a warm, casual text font based on an early twentieth century work by lettering artist Elizabeth Colwell, released by American Type Founders in 1923. For this update, all four fonts have been completely redrawn, and many new characters have been added. Both versions of this font contain the complete Latin A Extended character set, as well as extended ligatures and fractions.

Inspired by hand-painted liquor store signage in Minneapolis, as well as constructivist propaganda posters and old magazine logos, Chank created Liquorstore as a simple yet elegant exercise in font creation based on basic geometric forms with subtle, humanist sensibilities. A refinement of Roman inscriptional capitals designed by Bruce Rogers as a titling design for signage in the Metropolitan Museum. Rogers later designed for the Monotype Corporation a lowercase based on Jenson’s work, turning the titling into a full typeface, Centaur, the most elegant and Aldine of the Jenson derivatives. An extreme headline font with six optical variants. Black 24 is loosely based on ITC Grouch (1970) by Tom Carnase. It has some 2000 hand-adjusted kerning pairs for TNT (that’s Tight, Not Touching), a very popular type treatment from the seventies and eighties. Take your pick, or get them all, so you don’t have to buy another one later on.

Trump Mediaeval is an Old Face font developed by Georg Trump between 1954 and 1962. All cuts have both normal and old style numbers and their robust characters make them suitable even for inferior paper. Light and legible, the open forms of the lower case letters allow this font to be legible in text with as small a point size as 5.

Onion Mill is based on my own handwriting, when I want to mimic the classic letters from comics. Commodore JNL and Commodore Oblique JNL are based somewhat on the Clarendon family of typefaces that were popular in the 1800s and used on many of the broadsides and notices printed with wood type. The extra-wide design of this font limits the amount of text that a headline can handle effectively, but when applied sparingly it commands attention and sells the message.

Creative people tend to mix printing and cursive, i.e. some letters connected, some not. Why? Who knows? Handwriting analysts have a field day with this sort of thing.
