Wedding Text was designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1901 for American Type Founders (ATF). The face was so popular that its forms soon began appearing with other font foundries under different names, Elite Kanzlei with D. Stempel AG, Comtesse with C.F. Rühl, Linotext with Linotype, etc. Its ornamental forms are not considered very legible by today's standards; therefore it should be used for headlines and short texts in point sizes 12 or larger.

Lush was a formal script until it had a few too many drinks and, as a result, loosened up a little bit. Harkening back to the handlettering of the 40s and 50s, Lush has evolved into a casual, but well-dressed script that maintains a rather aggressive rhythm. Transitions often whip back quickly, forcing the letters to reel from the movement and resolve efficiently. It is not as warm as some scripts, intentionally so, so as to distinguish it from its predecessors. Type and lettering fans will revel in the options afforded to each character—in some cases there are up to 15 different variations with multiple glyph recipes available to produce the most unique and fluid lettering combinations possible. An often overlooked segment of contemporary script fonts, the uppercase letters have at least 3 options to work with that mesh well with the 36 ornamental flourishes to add even further embellishment. In total, there are over 1,650 glyphs in the typeface that includes these OpenType options: Stylistic Alternates, Contextual Alternates, Swashes, Titling, Historical Forms, Initial Forms, Oldstyle Numerals and 3 additional Stylistic Sets. With this release, I have tried to provide as much flexibility and 'forgiveness' within the typeface so the lettering enthusiast can have fun and explore thousands of iterations… and it's pretty easy math to figure this out: with over 970 alternates and 270 ligatures, I intended this typeface to be one that keeps on giving. One important fact to note… this marks the first release of a smooth, non-brushed, non-textured script from me—but it won't be the last. That said, I will have to admit that the brush has influenced many of the characters and their construction. Enjoy :)

The Raphael of Flowers is what they called Pierre-Joseph Redouté a couple hundred years ago. The Belgian native became famous in France, where he painted floral watercolors for both Marie Antoinnette and Empress Josephine. But what cemented his legacy was his perfection of a stipple engraving technique that brought his art to the masses. Botanical Scribe is modeled after the neat, cursive hand-inscribed legends on these antique prints. Because it simulates handlettering, the font retains a warm, organic quality not seen in fancy modern scripts while remaining both elegant and legible. A type of “handwriting” discovered by chance, extremely abstract On April 8, 1948 a certain Walter Plaga wrote a crude poem about a hero on a commemorative plaque. The very poor reproduction of the handwritten original, etched into a metal sheet, produced extremely abstract forms so that — even if unintentional — a script completely void of bowls was created. That which originally was the normal clumsy handwriting of a layman thus transformed into a pseudo-modern deconstructive typeface, which in the 21st century appears contemporary. The capital letters especially reflect the original: in part they show forms labeled incorrectly ”old German“ handwriting, which is actually Latin, in the letters A D G I J K L S V W X Z , whereas C H N O P R appear very modern. Truly a form of handwriting: without joining the letters, especially between the lower case characters, a silhouette effect is formed. To a great extent Hero is impressive due to its driven-to-the-limit abstraction and to a lesser extent by retaining an antiquated and nearly illegible effect.

This is the redrawn and expanded version of an alphabet Rebecca Alaccari made back in 2009 as a bespoke font for a tourism agency looking to recapture the appeal of New Orleans after the hurricane Katrina disaster robbed it of its core industries. The brief back then was to "revive the unique spirit of what always made Nola great for new adults, which is the excellent combination of history, romance, food and music." No word of a lie, the brief actually contained "new adults." Storyville contains two interchangeable sets of forms drawn in the doodly, loose and organic way now conspicuously popular with today's young designers, almost every one of whom thinks they will get to design something for a boutique coffee bar somewhere. Well, this whole thing perhaps means freedom, youth, fun, happiness, good stuff like that. But just in case, a little caution doesn't hurt: Use this font only if you know what you're doing. We don't want to go back to the 1990s. Please. We were nearly done for by that exposure the first time around. The ligatures feature in this font does some pseudo-randomization, so the forms in doubled letters don't repeat. Serious fun can be had by also applying the stylistic alternates feature, or picking a letter in the middle of a setting and disabling the ligatures feature. Or various sequences of all that. If you don't like any of that stuff, just forget about it. Uh, wutever.

Inspired by an old matchbook which read: "Chop Suey: Finest Chinese and American Cooking". Chop Chop recreates that matchbook printed feel with soft rounded edges on what one would normally expect to be a sharp and pointy typeface. Santa Fe was created by British designer David Quay in 1983. Distinguishing are its script characters and the lower case e, which has the form of a capital E.
