Originally designed by American type designer Morris Fuller Benton in 1933, Agency Gothic is a wonderful, narrow, squarish art deco typeface. I was commissioned by Publish magazine to create digital versions of Agency Gothic Open and Agency Gothic Condensed for a redesign in 1990. Since then, I have added four other styles. Agency Gothic CT is uppercase only and supports most European languages that use the Latin or Cyrillic alphabets. The Agency Gothic CT family is available in six weights/styles: Light, Medium, Bold, Condensed, Inline, and Open.

The Scrivano family was designed by Ricardo Esteves Gomes, inspired by some handwritings from the Middle Ages and Renaissance period. There are four elegant organic font styles (Regular, Italic, Bold & Bold Italic) that can be very useful to compose long or short texts in graphic standards that need some 'old style' feeling.

My intent in designing Young Gallant was to create as simple and elegant a formal script as possible. It was developed to illustrate my new book Learning Curves discussing the essence of formal script.

I like Carrot Juice a lot. I don’t drink it that often (and I should, really), but nothing beats a freshly squeezed glass of cold carrot juice!! Carrot Juice font is a lovely script font: handmade with love (and a rather cheap Chinese brush pen which I bought online). Carrot Juice will come in handy when you need that handmade look - cookbooks, websites and product packaging spring to mind. Comes with a abundant harvest of diacritics.

Kwaliteit is the result of a love story. The love story between a font designer and an old embossing label machine. The big bold letters produced by such machines are wonderful to convey a big bold message (big bold messages are fun!), but sometimes you just can't walk around with one of those antique label machines… That's why this font can come in handy! This is a simple and legible tag style font as written with a bullet tip marker. HumanRase includes characters for all uppercase and lowercase keys as well as numbers, punctuation and dozens of other symbols (many more characters than most other tag style fonts). This font works well at large sizes but is also very legible when used for body copy.

In a World War II training film from the U.S. Signal Corps, the opening title card saying “First Aid” was hand lettered in an extra bold, Art Deco inline style. Those two words (with seven available letters) used as a work model has inspired Film Reel JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Woodbranch JNL is a solid version of the 2013 font release Woodlawn JNL. The design was originally based on examples of an outline (open face) wood type. This interpretation takes on newer, stronger characteristics as a bold typeface when the "inner letters" of the original alphabet were removed, yet the imperfection of the wood type pieces are still maintained.

This is a squared sans serif font family developed out of a taller Bank Gothic model plus a true lower case with many OpenType features and over 600 characters: Caps, lower case, small caps, ligatures, discretionary ligatures, swashes, small cap figures, old style figures, numerators, denominators, accent characters (including CE), ordinal numbers (1st-infinity: lining and oldstyle), and so on. It is designed for text use in body copy. For display tighten the tracking.

Hasler Circus packs amusement park, Old West, folk art, and tattoo shop all into one colorful font. In the July 24, 1915 issue of “Dry Goods Reporter” is a demonstration of hand lettering rendered with the use of a “speed pen”. Two suggested examples cited in the accompanying article were the Payzant pen and the then-new Speedball pen. An ornate Art Nouveau serif alphabet is displayed, with some examples having delicate floral elements entwining the letters. The initial alphabet was auto-traced, then cleaned-up and modified to recreate the core design of the basic (unadorned) letters. The numerals, punctuation and all additional characters were then made from scratch. Nouveau Rose JNL is the finished result, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

The rounded Sans with edges. Olivia Sans got curves on the outlines and edges on the inlines. So it can be very legible and space efficient at the same time: the curves keep the distinctions between the letters, the corners keep the influences from broadnibbed pens with a subtle horizontal stress for great legibility. Olivia has personality without being obtrusive. Three weights (light, regular, bold) are equipped with real italics, SmallCaps, different sets of figures, accents for almost every latin script, arrows, symbols. A fourth weight (black) comes without italics or SmallCaps, but all the other features. Olivia: with or without.

Based on lettering with a sharp pen, Gangfield features a rather solid character and a measured rhythm. This is named after my nephew who has an optimistic and disciplined style. Gangfield is available in upright variants, with regular, italic and bold weights. Gangfield's bright and cheerful energy shines through either in the form of short blocks of text, or enhanced on display sizes with over 1,100 wildcards and swashes that vary in size and complexity. Gangfield includes 134 alternates with various variations plus several variants of ligatures which make it ideal for special dates such as weddings and parties.

Saltbush is a collection of 3 hand made fonts following Pistacho's design line. Through an intelligent ligatures system we could design a typeface that imitates the strokes of a round brush pen and generates a flowing and organized writing. Saltbush contains 3 variables: 2 scripts, regular and bold, each one has 776 glyphs and; a beautiful display font. This typefamily has an extended characters set to support the languages in central and east Europe, as well as the ones used in west Europe. Keeping in mind the particularity of Saltbush design, it is possible to create beautiful graphics with a "hand made" look.

Chrysante is a flowing pen script. The typeface was drawn and created by Måns Grebäck between 2018 and 2020. Its thin lines are inspired by mid-century advertising, emits optimism and has a strong personality. Dare is a bold, single-weight titling font in capitals only. It is built from flat-pen strokes, with looping bowls and sharp, incised darts. It borrows a pinch of the hand-drawn swagger of Bauer's Cartoon (designed in 1936 by H. A. Trafton), used as Dan Dare's signature logo in the British boy's comic Eagle, and also the upward-pointing serifs of machine-moderne typefaces such as Dynamo (designed by K. Sommer for Ludwig & Mayer in 1930). Suitable for book covers, magazines, branding, packaging – any place where an impactful, contemporary statement is required, but still with an undertone of 20th century tradition.

The concept of a bold connected script with a hand lettered feel has been on my bucket list for decades. I imagined a pretentious, ornate, swashy look, a variety of word-end embellishments, heaps of ligatures and underscores. It took a weekend workshop on Python Scripting at Type@Cooper in San Francisco reinforcing the smarts of Opentype to make it happen. Hand drawn on paper using broad pen strokes for reference, the design was the easy part. The real work was in the back-end and self-imposed rigorous testing. What do you get when you mix iconic Cooper Black from 1922 with an even older font, equally iconic Windsor from 1905? Well of course, you get Manchego! Manchego combines the best of both: the plump features and serifs from Cooper with seriously bold forms, such as the oversized bowl of R, peg-legged N, pinched U and leaning a, h, m & n giving it an adorable retro-appeal. With these distinguishable features Manchego works extremely well with illustrations or can actually be used as an illustration per se. Despite its vintage charm, Manchego is fully equipped with modern OpenType features. Standard ligatures help with certain difficult character combinations. In addition Manchego sports Swash, Titling & Stylistic Alternates that can be deployed for more original look. Try Manchego with a bit tighter kerning for more 70s feel.

Penitentiary Gothic is a digital recreation of the letters used on California state license plates, designed in order to make props for movies and television shows. The regular style is meant to be used on its own, but the other four styles are meant to be used one on top of another in different colors to create an embossed 3D effect. For best results, use the fill style in a dark color on top of a light colored background. Put the lolite style directly on top of the fill style in 10 - 30% of the background color. Put the hilite style directly on top of that in 10 - 30% of your fill color. Put the shadow style directly on top of that using your background color plus 50 - 80% black.

Introducing our new font, Almanor Peninsula . Not too shabby a name, right? A display logotype script, not too bold and not too thin either. This font has been created for your sporty display projects, whatever they may be. This font contains the basic script ligature 'tt' with some necessary alternates here and there. Plus some swash for the cherry on top. This font is PUA encoded already, so you can access all the glyphs with the basic character map apps. So have fun with this one !
