IA Morning Star is a readable universal comic book dialogue font that adorns any book. The family includes Regular, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic. Bielik was created for a comic book that I’m working on. Main goal was to achieve random character of texts, so I made three glyphs for every letter, even for diacritics. Firstly I was drawing using brush pen with ink, so thickness of letters was really various. I decided to implement this style into a font. So that is how Bielik came into the world. This is good choice for comic books, children books, display designs and much more. Bielik is a polish word for Haliaeetus albicilla.

Ligaturess Serif is a modification of Textworthy Serif. This modification contains 79 uppercase ligatures. 59 lowercase ligatures. And 493 ligatures with diacritics marks. Ligatures are groups of letters joined together and usually compensate for the free space between individual letters. Ligaturess Serif, in addition to the basic ligatures - fi, fl... - also includes superstandard ones - CA, OO, ST, SS, VA... -. Text set in Ligaturess Serif has a unique and interesting look. The Book of Kells is a handwritten Irish text which dates back to the 8th century. Kris Holmes and Janice Prescott digitalized some letters from this book and some from a Grotesk font in the style of Frutiger. A computer filled in the blanks and the designers then gave the font its finishing touches by hand.

Between the most rigid geometric letterforms and the most expressive calligraphy works there are, undoubtedly, countless combinatory possibilities. Ingeo is just one of them. This font was created in honor of my husband for our 12th wedding anniversary. 14 years ago, I met this tall, skinny guy from Indiana in the lobby of a hotel in Hong Kong. We talked. The next day, we had lunch together. And that night we had dinner together. And the next day. And the next. We met just before my 19th birthday, and on my birthday he took me to the top of Victoria Peak, where we looked out over the city of Hong Kong- such a beautiful place to begin a lifetime of love! We spent 4 months together in Hong Kong, falling in love with each other and with the beautiful city we were privileged to call home for that short time. We married the next year. We've lived in Indiana, Texas, China, Kentucky, and Florida over those 12 years of marriage and have welcomed 2 daughters into our lives. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he completes my life in a way I didn't know was possible. And I know that I'm blessed beyond words to have a supportive, wonderful, encouraging husband who is also a loving, involved, caring dad to our daughters. This font is for you, Keith!

This font was originally designed for a chocolate box design project; it does have something of a luxurious quality.

Nosta is a modern text typeface. It was designed to be easily legible and therefore expressly suitable for setting sizeable lengths of continuous text such as magazine articles, books and essays. It achieves this through, amongst other things, finely balanced proportions, optimal character spacing and an adherence to predictable letter forms. Despite this, however, Nosta manages to retain a contemporary look and feel by using a variety of modern type design devices such as the efficacious wedge serif. The italic avoids using too many of the cursive elements that are often found in traditional italics and has only a modest slant, giving it a modern look that does not overly disrupt the text while still providing emphasis. While designed for continuous text, Nosta can also be used as a display face, making it a good all round typeface, suitable for many applications.

Tall, thin and elegant, Marian Churchland’s fonts are very much like her.. and now available from those awfully nice chaps at Comicraft to allow you to pretend that you are too! Marian Churchland was born in Canada in 1982, and was raised on a strict diet of fine literature and epic fantasy video games. She has a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (English Literature and Visual Arts) from the University of British Columbia, and has been doing professional illustration work, including book covers and magazine articles, since she was 17. Last year, she became the first woman to solo-illustrate a CONAN story, and this year she’s illustrating three issues of ELEPHANTMEN for Image Comics. Eroika Slab is a robust, display serif, intended to be set large. While for most serifs, display means high contrast, Eroika's "displayness" stems from its wide stance, tight spacing, equal cap and ascender heights, flared stems and large x-height. The italics in particular are quite unorthodox, with their vertical serif cut-offs and foot serifs where most fear to tread ('scuse the pun). All fonts feature a useful array of stylistic sets, oldstyle figures, automatic fractions and case sensitive forms. All ligatures are in the discretionary section, as it's my belief that this typeface looks better without them, but I like to offer the choice. Perfect for book covers, craft beer logos, boxing paraphernalia and tattoo magazine pull quotes. And probably a whole lot more besides!

Draetha is the 6-font companion to Biblia and Biblia Serif. But it is definitely designed to be used with Biblia Serif for book design and production. It is a nearly monoline sans with a clean style which contrast beautifully with Biblia serif. The Black versions push monoline to the extreme of boldness. It has the same font metrics as Biblia and Biblia Serif. The only compromise is that Ultra is too extreme to be able to provide small caps or oldstyle figures. It is designed with text spacing, to work in text with Biblia and Biblia Serif. For heads and subheads, you will need to adjust the tracking. But it tracks well.

Kate Greenaway was a very famous British (1846-1901) author and illustrator of childrens books. Her books were an outstanding success in English publishing during the Victorian period. Recently I found these sweet Mignonettes in an old foundry specimen book. Mignonettes is derived from the French word "mignon" which stands for lovely, charming, sweet, delightful, pleasant and that does exactly describe these little drawings. I seem to be in my comic book font fase. It's not that I have tons of comics lying around (I actually have none), but when I was a kid, I used to read them all the time. Laser Eyes is a handmade comic book font. It is a little rounded, a little fat and very useful. ITC Johann Sparkling is the work of Austrian designer Viktor Solt, a perfect imitation of the handwriting of an educated person of the 18th century. Garalde: the word itself sounds antique and arcane to anyone who isn’t fresh out of design school, but the sort of typeface it describes is actually quite familiar to all of us.
