Jürgen Weltin's Mantika Informal is pretty difficult to categorize, but very easy to like. This particularly reader-friendly typeface in regular and bold weights, brings to the table the informal fluidity of a script, the consistency of an inclined italic, and the open and airy forms and contrast of a humanist sans. The result is a warm, approachable, and very legible typeface that is never static and staid, but rather invites an attentive, reading eye. The original idea behind Mantika Informal lay in the challenge to create a typeface for setting children's books. Giambattista Bodoni (1740-1813) was called the King of Printers; he was a prolific type designer, a masterful engraver of punches and the most widely admired printer of his time. His books and typefaces were created during the 45 years he was the director of the fine press and publishing house of the Duke of Parma in Italy. He produced the best of what are known as modern" style types, basing them on the finest writing of his time. Modern types represented the ultimate typographic development of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. They have characteristics quite different from the types that preceded them; such as extreme vertical stress, fine hairlines contrasted by bold main strokes, and very subtle, almost non-existent bracketing of sharply defined hairline serifs. Bodoni saw this style as beautiful and harmonious-the natural result of writing done with a well-cut pen, and the look was fashionable and admired. Other punchcutters, such as the Didot family (1689-1853) in France, and J. E. Walbaum (1768-1839) in Germany made their own versions of the modern faces. Even though some nineteenth century critics turned up their noses and called such types shattering and chilly, today the Bodoni moderns are seen in much the same light as they were in his own time. When used with care, the Bodoni types are both romantic and elegant, with a presence that adds tasteful sparkle to headlines and advertising. This version of Bodoni was done by Morris Fuller Benton for American Typefounders between 1907 and 1911. Although some of the finer details of the original Bodoni types are missing, this family has the high contrast and vertical stress typical of modern types. It works well for headlines, logos, advertising, and text."

Fun and Games JNL was redrawn from the lettering found on the cover of a 1935 Speedball® Lettering Pen book.

Bapalopa is inspired by classic graffiti "blockbuster" letter forms. These letters are made to look as big and as wide as possible. Bapalopa's linework is kept very loose & relaxed, mostly smooth with some distressed edges. Viewed up-close, there is lots of texture from the individual pen strokes which gives Bapalopa it's cool freehand drawn look. Use "Bapalopa" and "Bapalopa Pa" together to create eye catching designs. To make it extra fun, a handful of the largely useless alternates, (like that dumb "currency" symbol) were replaced with big blocky hearts, stars, and arrows. Check it out! Bambusa Pro is a sturdy expressive modern calligraphy family of 4 fonts: Regular, Bold, Basic and Ornaments. It owes its name to the bamboo pen that was used to draw all of the characters and swashes. The typical ink-strokes of the bamboo pen give Bambusa Pro a distinctively different appearance than dip pen calligraphy fonts like Salt & Spices Pro. Seashells is a picture font, containing all pretty sea shells. Each shell appears in outline form and also as a solid graphic.

CrappyJoe got its name because I wrote all characters with a felt-pen with a broken tip. It's still very readable though.

This face was drawn on paper with a calligraphy pen and way too much ink. It's perfect for that spooky globular look.

In 1925, at the request of Barnhart Brothers & Spindler, the foundry he worked for, Oswald Bruce Cooper designed a wide selection of "screamers", oversized exclamation points used to grab attention in display advertising. The foundry rushed the screamers into production, much to Cooper's dismay. Cooper was disappointed with the final form of the screamers– they were designed in assorted weights to match the assorted Cooper series of typefaces, as well as in a variety of other formal solutions- squaredoff, incised, wavy, Tuscan, and rounded. Cooper's working design methodology was to re-draw his projects a number of times in order to refine the formal results. However the screamer project was hastily cut by the head of BB&S's matrix engraving room in fourteen sizes from the initial sketches, causing Cooper to fire off a fiery missive stating, "Everything I draw is bum the first half-dozen times I draw it; the trouble with these is that I drew them only once!" This typeface is the result of researching Cooper's original drawings and series of engraved proofs for the screamers, as well as the original Screamer type specimen. Cooper Screamers have never been available before in digital format.

Klatter is a font that is "in your face". It can't be ignored, and draws attention to itself no matter how noisy the environment. It is available in three styles: - Klatter Regular is a clean, spunky, non-grunge font that uses a combination of straight lines and sharp angles to make a strong, no-nonsense statement; - Klatter SmallCaps, in which the lower case is a true "small caps" and not a shrunken version of the upper case (generated by the operating system); - Klatter Grunge is based on Klatter Regular but is "dirty" and messy, giving the impression of printing problems and wet ink being smudged. Unlike many other grunge fonts, Klatter Grunge is a font that is full of character. Both styles have a full character set with upper and lower case, numerals and mathematical symbols, as well as a full set of accented and special characters. The font has been carefully letter-spaced and kerned and the vertical spacing has been appropriately set. Klatter Grunge and Regular are appropriately purchased together since they complement one another when used in the same graphic design job.
