Basim Marah is an Arabic display typeface and is useful for titles and graphic projects. The font is based on the simple lines of free style calligraphy. A collaborative effort, Basim Marah was designed and drawn by Basim Salem Al Mahdi from Iraq and then digitalized as a typeface by Hasan Abu Afash from Palestine. In November, 2008, Basim Marah was upgraded by working with Mirjam Somers an award-winning Arabic type designer to the DecoType font format for use in WinSoft Tasmeem which is now bundled with InDesign CS4.

If you're getting tired of using Broadway, here’s an exciting alternative in regular and bold weights. Douglas C. McMurtrie, Aaron Borad, and Leslie Sprunger began designing this high-contrast novelty face for the Ludlow Foundry in 1928. It retains the classic style of the Jazz Age with a bit more individuality and spirit than Broadway. This extreme thick and thin design also sports normal descenders instead of the clipped ones found on Broadway. Ultramodern Classic is also available in the OpenType Std format. Some new characters have been added to this OpenType version. Advanced features currently work in Adobe Creative Suite InDesign, Creative Suite Illustrator, and Quark XPress 7. Eleonora tends to defy standard categories. Had the typeface been designed in about 1790, it might've been called a "late transitional face" and lumped together with Bell and Bulmer. But it's a modern typeface, showing more restraint in its finer details than even Baskerville. When designing a typeface, one has to be conscious of superfluous details. Although I am always tempted to add little personal touches, experience taught me that the phrase -less is more- is totally true. In Model, the letters (like models do) participated of a contest: An event in which models engage in competition against each other, often for a prize or similar incentive. The prize was staying in the font! yay! Tall, delicate, refined, the right amount of elegancy: These were some of the aspects to be chosen. Typographically speaking, these things were achieved thanks to a tall x-height (which leaded the font to be somehow condensed), a subtle contrast between thicks and thins, and just the right amount of decorative swirls. The result is a nice script that can be used in magazines, invitations, posters, book-covers and works very well when used over photographs. Get Model and let it be the star of the catwalk. STYLES Model Pro and Model Small Pro are the most complete styles of the font. Both have all the ligatures and decorative glyphs seen in posters above (OT programmed).
