Stonecut JNL is an adaptation of a novelty display face found in one of the Dan X. Solo lettering books. Resembling letters made from cut stone, both the inline and solid black versions are perfect for themes encompassing outdoors, the Stone Age, "macho" events or anything where an unpolished or rustic look can be adapted.

Stout is a deliberately aggressively solid family of four faces, offered in two weights and in serif (deliberately large serifs) and sans forms. It’s ideal for signage that needs to be read over long distances or for anything where an emphatic statement is needed. Stout is big and clear and always makes a statement.

Jeff Levine took Crown Heights JNL [named after his childhood neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY] and gave it a make-over; transforming it into a Western-style all-caps display face called Homesteader JNL. The point of interest being the rounded characters: C, G, O and Q - usually not as geometric in Old West typography.

A 1970s Photolettering catalog indentified the pattern for this typeface as "Exotique" ...from France, no less. Named for a French expression meaning “pun,” this face is, indeed, witty and playful, with nary a groan in sight. Both versions of this font include the complete Unicode 1252 Latin and Unicode 1250 Central European character sets.

Will Ransom designed the uppercase letters in this typeface for Barnhart Brothers & Spindler in the 1920s, under the name Clearcut Shaded Caps. The lowercase letters come from another BB&S typeface named Clearcut Italic. An elegant headline face, best used sparingly, the font includes decorative flourishes in the brace, bracket and en dash positions.

Arsis is a condesed modern headline face that was originally produced and cast in hot metal by the Dutch type foundry Lettergieterij Amsterdam. The Arsis font family was designed by Gerry Powell in 1937. Arsis is a Serif (Antiqua) Modern Style font. Arsis font family attributes include roman serif, Didone, elegant, formal, modern style, feminine.

This stately typeface takes its inspiration from Erbar Medieval, designed by Jakob Erbar for the Ludwig & Mayer foundry of Frankfurt am Main, released in 1914. Equally at home in headlines or text blocks, this face is both elegant and inviting. Both versions contain the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets.

Snoogle is a friendly, round display typeface. Its character set contains 99 ligatures, which may be automatically implemented in OpenType-savvy applications. These give Snoogle the feeling of a script face, as opposed to normal rounded types. Snoogle's text variant is complimented by a Dingbats font, including further design elements as well as pictogram figures.

Umbra was designed by R. Hunter Middleton for the Ludlow Corporation in 1935. This is a three-dimensional typeface, unique in that the main character shape is defined only by its shadow. It was originally designed to be a second-color drop-shadow for the typeface Tempo, but stands alone as an unusual display face.

Hermann Zapf made his first scetches for Orion in 1963. Zapf's aim was to create a neutral textface which can be ideally used as a newspaper face. Its strokethickness and open letterforms also fits well for book and magazine production. The final two weights of Orion were released in 1974 for the Linofilm photocomposing machine.

The other day I had to login to a page several times, and as security I had to check the "I am not a robot" box. Actually, I think I did a login at that particular page like 30 times that day...and in the end I was thinking "Come on, you should know by now that I am not a robot" And even though I thought it was a repetitious hassle I figured that I needed to name a font "I am not a robot" - and not a robotic-like one, but a sweet and funny cartoonish one! :)

“Stillson” is an Art Nouveau-influenced font found within the pages of the 1881 Barnhart Bros. & Spindler type specimen book. The digital revival is called Office Manager JNL, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

SHE'S DEAD, FRANK It's the year 1991, BC (Before Comicraft) when REM were still making records and Frank Miller’s memorable run on Marvel Comics’ DAREDEVIL was just over ten years old. Comicraft’s Richard Starkings found himself working in Anaheim, California for Graphitti Designs. Graphitti had produced the first hardcover edition of Miller’s Batman tale, DARK KNIGHT RETURNS and was now putting together the sequel to Miller’s DAREDEVIL — ELEKTRA LIVES AGAIN! Richard was not engaged to letter this book, the pages of Frank’s incredible original art that came through Graphitti’s studio were already lettered by Marvel Stalwart, Jim Novak. However, there were some cover elements that needed to be added, based on the logo originally rendered by Frank’s brother, Steve. Starkings set about the task of creating an alphabet that could be used to develop Steve’s idea for the trade dress -- the cover elements, the back cover copy and credits on the interior pages. This was long before Macintosh computers and font programs made this work considerably easier, so Rich sat down with a pencil and a sheet of vellum and rendered an alphabet that could be used as the basis for the text that was needed... Those sketches have languished in a drawer for nearly thirty years, but now, finally, Comicraft’s John Roshell has dusted off those old letterforms and Elektrakuted a font based on those designs, a font we HAD to call ELEKTRAKUTION! As for Elektra; she’s dead, Frank. This cuddly face is based very loosely on Dave Farey's Beesknees. This version is a little more regimented but no less fun, and is notable for the addition of a lower case, not found in Farey's design. This elegant semicursive face is based on the works of J. M. Bergling from his 1914 classic Art Alphabets and Lettering. Neon is an experimental, retro display typeface designed by Superfried. Neon features two styles which can be toggled via shift. As the name suggests styling for the typeface started with classic neon signage, but quickly took a new direction of its own leading to a very distinct and versatile display face. Neon has been featured in Computer Arts magazine.

Rozza is a single weight stencil cursive fat face font for extremal display use. Looking at this font the story of beauty and the beast comes to mind. That is how I would describe it. On the one hand prickly and dangerous, and on the other - pulsating beauty and passion. Try to combine Rozza together with Displace — great pair!

Arch Creek JNL is Jeff Levine's all-caps re-interpretation of a classic typeface of the past; Beton. Clean lines and slab serifs make this design a wonderful display face for attention-getting headlines. The beautiful watercolor print used in the font flag is by a good friend of Jeff's - Miami artist Michael George, and is used by permission.

A 1930s luggage tag from an eponymous hotel provided the inspiration for this face. The uppercase letters lean to the left and the lowercase letters lean to the right, so aLtErNaTiNg the two will give your headlines a little bounce. Sasparillo is an "extreme" Tuscan face, with reversed emphasis, by which we mean the horizontals are far heavier than the verticals. Saspirillo Fizz has been put through our (not quite) patented "fizzing" process, in order to give it that weathered look of heavily used type.
