The Boboli garden in Florence (16th century) is one of the first examples of Italian renaissance garden, where nature was shaped into geometric beauty; the Boboli font was designed in the same spirit, filtered by a Modernist view. It comes in two sets, Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer: by mixing them you can compose the typographic season of your choice. The name of this typeface comes from the surname of James (Jim) Bowie, American pioneer and inventor of the famous Bowie knife. This is exactly what inspired English rockstar David Jones to change his stage name to David Bowie. Bowie is thenew font by Bercz and Latinotype Team. Alfie Script is a delightful connecting script with a touch of comfortable elegance. Use it for everything from social announcements to headlines and packaging. Alfie Casual is a little more laid-back with letters standing on their own. It works great in short blocks of text copy, subheads and navigational links. Alfie Informal has spirited serifs and its own demeanor, while Alfie Small Caps does a fine job of supporting its other siblings. There’s an immediacy to words and messages set in these lighthearted confections. Jim Ford was practicing drawing with a new brush pen when the inspiration for Alfie came to him. He had filled several pages in a notebook with letters and, at one point, realized that there might be a typeface among them. As it turned out, there were four. The process, however, wasn’t choosing one design and modifying it. The makings of all the designs were on the pages. It was just a matter of culling out the right collection of characters to build the foundations for the four flavors of Alfie. Unlike its predecessor, Andes Neue contains a larger character set of 759 glyphs which support 219 Latin-based languages from 212 countries. The font comes in 4 variants that provide a wide stylistic range. Andes Neue is the most similar to the original Andes design. The Alt1 character set bears some similarity to the old Andes's (yet cleaner); Alt2 uses the alternates in the font as default glyphs; and Alt3 is a mixture of the other three variants that offers a balanced set of characters. Andes Neue also includes new accents and glyphs for a wider language support, and a set of small caps (in each variant). I set out to design a monospaced font and decided it would look way better if it wasn't. It gave me the freedom to make the individual glyphs more interesting while retaining the mono-look. The numerals are tabular! Enjoy!
