The Old Times American Family is derived from several letterpress books from the 1880s in the midwest. The fonts were painstakingly compiled from over 100 pages of text and optically balanced for optimum results. Old Times American is part of the Grit History Series A font set. The set encompasses serif and sans-serif fonts in varying weights to meet the needs of designers. The less-than-perfect letterforms evoke a sense of the non-digital.

Black Crow is a display sans-serif type family includes eight weights. It is influenced by the geometric-style sans-serif faces that were popular during the 1920s and 30s. This typeface was inspired by Gering and Remboldt's work during the late 1490s. Their printing concern, the Soleil d'or in Paris, was one of the printing business to engage in the use of blackletter printing, when the rest of the Parisian printers where using humanist influenced roman typefaces. This peculiar backwards trend was really one of the original examples of "retro", taking advantage of the desires of the more conservative northern Europe that had not yet embraced the newer roman types.

And now something completely different. Keks has broken elements like a blackletter typeface, but the actual forms are roman. That keeps it very legible although there is no curve at all. What was the inspiration for designing the font? Blackletter has an interesting history here in Germany. We need to find contemporary interpretations for this tradition. ITC Serif Gothic font is the joint effort of Herb Lubalin and Antonio DiSpigna. Its distinguishing feature is its uniquely designed serifs, combining gothic simplicity with traditional roman elegance.

Insider is a warm & legible grotesque. It’s custom made for Insider Consulting in Düsseldorf, Germany. It’s highly legible in small sizes because of the basic proportions and the balanced inner forms. It’s optimized for setting longer texts, but also works very well in headlines and leads. The fonts contain loads of OpenType features to spice up your design. The matching Stencil font is very suited for creative designs. The Stencil Regular has the same dimensions as the Insider Regular, so you can mix them without hassle. The font family has real italics and not just mathematically slanted romans. Do you remember a typeface called Meccanica? I didn’t think so. Well, it was pretty unique – too unique for most people’s tastes it seems. Pompeijana is a part of the 1990 collection Type before Gutenberg 2’, which includes twelve contemporary typefaces each representative of a particular era. Pompeijana is Adrian Frutiger’s contribution to the project Type before Gutenberg’. He based the forms of this capital typeface on the writing of the Romans in Pompei. The decorative look of the alphabet is achieved by purely graphic means, placing the emphasis of the top and foot of the letters with heavy horizontals and diamond-shaped serifs. Frutiger completed his typeface with the weight Borders, a font consisting of numerous ornaments true to the style of the alphabet. The ornaments can be combined to form different borders and offer an optimal addition to the elegant Pompeijana. Pompeijana is best combined with modern sans serif typefaces.

Frutiger Next is Adrian Frutiger's and Linotype's completely new interpretation of the well known typeface Frutiger released in 2000. For these revised forms, the areas of application are almost limitless. Frutiger Next can be used for anything from office communications to multimedia to complex printed materials. “PGF-Trajanite” is a simple Roman typeface, with capital letters inspired on classical Trajan schemmas such regular square and circle, simple and double root five, early ideas based on the golden ratio, while lowercase have more organic but yet balanced proportions with short ascenders/descenders stems allowing more air to flow between textlines, both (capitals and lowercases) optically adjusted to deliver a better reading experience. Many calligraphers agree that Roman Capitals is one of the most beautiful yet difficult hands to master. Its beauty lies in its simplicity of form and structure, yet understanding and applying these skillfully can take years of mindful practice. My goal was to design Roman Capitals that were smoothly designed with a brush, not carved. The main concept was based on the fundamental strokes that are commonly studied when you practice Roman letters. That’s why many Serifs have these unfinished terminal serifs. I created the Turquoise typeface based on my Capitalis Romana practice with a flexible broad edged brush and gouache. During the lowercase process I was still following Foundational calligraphy with a flat brush. My Turquoise Capitals were then adjusted and redesigned at the Tipobrda calligraphy workshop in Slovenia. Turquoise contains small caps, many discretionary ligatures, ornaments, swashes as well as several brushy nature-inspired ornaments, accessible via OpenType. Ideally suited for headlines or body text in advertising, packaging and visual identities, its delicate shapes, curves and endings give projects a harmonious elegance and stylistic feel in unique Turquoise style. My inspiration for this font showcase is one of the richest islands in the Mediterranean, the place where my parents are from, Sicily. This southern Italian region has so many unique spots: Stromboli, part of the Aeolian Islands, and the Pelagie Islands is one of my favorite places in Sicily. Ceres is has its roots in Cyan, our other font family. Like Cyan, Ceres has a complementary lowercase that provides more versatility than a classic Roman. It is arguably more elegant than Cyan with its accentuated serifs. The lowercase "e" and "g" give Ceres a distinct calligraphic personality. Ceres, the font, derived its name from Ceres the Roman goddess. In Roman mythology, Ceres is the goddess of growing plants (particularly cereals) and of motherly love. Ceres was usually equated with the Greek goddess Demeter. Ceres was the daughter of Saturn and Ops, wife-sister of Jupiter, mother of Proserpina by Jupiter and sister of Juno, Vesta, Neptune and Pluto. Ceres made up a trinity with Liber and Libera, who were two other agricultural gods. She also had twelve minor gods who assisted her, and they were in charge of specific aspects of farming.

Latino is the work of British designer David Quay, an unusual, condensed, wedge-serif roman typeface. The characters can be set normally or widely spaced. Latino exudes grace and elegance.

A collision between some stylin' caps from legendary lettering artist Samuel Welo and a lowercase loosely based on ATF’s Romany Script yields this curious little wonder. Named after a 70s song which averred that all it took to be “the coolest guy what is what am” is to talk fast, walk slow and look good wearing that 'hair. Please note that, due to the exaggerated overhang of the many of the uppercase characters, this font has been optimized for upper- and lowercase uses. Both versions of this font contain the Unicode 1252 (Latin) and Unicode 1250 (Central European) character sets, with localization for Romanian and Moldovan.

Legatum is a new look at a classical serif Roman font and inspired by Roman sycamore, columns and architectural details of the Eternal City. Stylish, elegant, and alluring, Sekhmet got its name from the lion-headed war goddess of ancient Egypt. And the typeface does possess a kind of feline, forward-directed energy - a result of its calligraphic detailing combined with a very slight slope in the roman. Sekhmet is essentially a display face; still, it's as carefully crafted as any of the designer's text fonts and so also works well in reasonably large text blocks, especially at larger point sizes. Comes with a book-weight roman and calligraphic italic.

Dulce is a swash typeface with an elegant and romantic touch. It is thin, but it becomes thick where two terminals meet and it also has swelling at terminals.
