Since the beginning, “Histories” has been inspired by the shape of the letters displayed on the cover of fairy tale books or animated film covers. Likewise with the naming of the font "Histories" so that the message of the letters is conveyed. Narcissus Open is a heavy typeface designed by Walter Tiemann in 1921 for the Klingspor Foundry in Germany. It is a shaded wide roman using a very modest amount of white highlighting. Serifs are extremely delicate, almost ornamental. This elegant old typeface gives a feeling of importance and authority and is highly effective when used in large display sizes. Narcissus Solid lacks all highlighting and becomes more useful in smaller sizes. Narcissus Open and Solid are also available in the OpenType Std format. Some new characters have been added to this OpenType version. Advanced features currently work in Adobe Creative Suite InDesign, Creative Suite Illustrator, and Quark XPress 7. Introducing Lando - a handmade uppercase type family with a natural character. Lando comes in two styles with two weights each. Its characters have been drawn by hand to give them a warm and authentic look. Lando's appearance is enhanced by two contextual alternates for each Latin character and all numbers. In addition, all fonts contain several open type functions such as swashes and initials, a selection of ligatures and support of open type fractions. Compact sans, ideal for setting long texts in small or very small type sizes: for packaging, instruction booklets, drug information leaflets and anything else that has to be legible at very small sizes. Lean and rhythmical, designed ideally to be used at less than 8 points (Brevier was the old typefounders’ name for 8-point type), Brevier holds up well even under adverse printing conditions. The apparently geometric letterforms hide Renaissance characteristics, the x-height and openings are very generous and the strokes slightly modulated. In order to offset ink spread – which is inevitable when printing very small sizes of type – Brevier has large white spaces between the letters. All internal angles have deep ink traps and many connections have been left open.

This font family is display sans-serif with different stylistic layers available as open type font. The main characters are geometric and neutral but when we change the contextual alternates open type feature the letterforms activate the cursive stylish set. The word composition is divided by initial, medial and final forms, available for all uppercase and lowercase, the diacritics for Latin encodings (Western and central Europe and Baltic countries) are available. However the contextual alternate features (cursive mode) can only work on Adobe CS Indesign and Illustrator softwares. This typeface also has uppercase swash and stylish alternates. A large group of discretionary ligatures are also available to improve better legibility and readability on specific characters combinations, giving a natural and simple solution.

Quadrus is the work of New York graphic designer Peter Fahrni, a condensed open slab serif typeface. Fahrni was inspired by the lettering styles typical of baseball, basketball and American football sportswear. Quadrus is an all caps alphabet ideal for a variety of applications, particularly for those related to sports.

Alacant is a family of slab serif fonts composed of seven weights and their versions in italics. One of the most characteristic advantages of this font is its particularly square shape, very short descenders, open counter-forms and precise kerning that provides a very good visual impact and clear legibility.

A 1950 reissue of the 1934 tune “With My Eyes Wide Open I’m Dreaming” had the title of the sheet music hand lettered in a semi-calligraphic sans serif design. This became the model for the appropriately named Semi Calligraphic JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Lonestar Western is a revival of the old classic slab serif font named Hellenic which was very popular in the middle to late 1800s. While watching an old western movie the opening credits caught my attention, it was the Hellenic font with spurs added which gave it a more western look.

The opening title for the 1962 Blake Edwards film "Days of Wine and Roses" [starring Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick] was the inspiration for Cocktail Hour JNL. Adding to the playfulness of this font, the characters float above the baseline. Cocktail Hour JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Gold Fever is a revival of the old classic Caxtonian font originaly designed in the mid to late 1800s. Along with the original engraved shadow version new styles have been created making this decorative font set more complete. The new styles include a solid black, open faced, condensed and fill versions.

Fille de Joie is a distressed typewriter font created from a vintage typewriter that a friend of mine bought in Paris. It’s pretty dirty and nasty. Included are open type ligatures for all of the double letters like “EE” “TT” “FF” etc. to give the font a more natural look.

A Public Secret (or Open Secret) is something that is widely known, although it is not supposed to be. Public Secret is a hand drawn font (I used a fineliner) that I made in between building a shower, a toilet and a laundry room… Yes, it’s all in a day’s work! ;-)

Ratatam is a variable egyptian font face. There are eight weights from thin to black, but a lot more opportunities with the variable font, and a decor style with inner elements. Useful open type features, which are optional as well as contextual alternates and positions, are defined, all small caps integrated.

Sally Script BH, is based on the handwriting of a BluHead friend. This fun design has a round, open feel which lends itself to conveying warm messages for that personal touch in all your cards, journals, etc. Plus, the character set includes support for many languages, along with some cool ligatures!

Redoura Font is a script typeface inspired by 70's font style and Script Sports font style which is absolutely awesome for logotype / wordmark, especially for sports theme logos. Redoura Script font includes upper & lowercase characters, punctuation, numerals, and multilingual support. It also has many open type alternates and ligatures.

The opening title from the 1943 Abbott and Costello comedy ”It Ain't Hay” shows a park bench with the words “Universal Presents” stenciled on it in a chamfered sans serif style. This served as the design model for Grounds Crew Stencil JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Take Charge JNL is based on the opening title card for the 1936 film "The Charge of the Light Brigade" starring Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland, Donald Crisp and David Niven. The typeface is a simple, bold titling font with the slight feel of Art Deco influence in its design.
