While viewing a video posted to YouTube of a 1952 drive through Los Angeles, a building was passed for King Bros. Productions, Inc. The lettering on the signage was designed in a stylized Art Deco sans serif, and thus inspired Production Company JNL – available in both regular and oblique versions.

Art Class JNL was re-created from the titling of a lettering booklet called "Drawlet Portfolio", published by the Esterbrook Pen Company in the 1930s. Pink is the work of British designer Timothy Donaldson, a sans serif in a style typical of the 1990s. Jerash was developed jointly by Dave Nalle and Mike Scarpitti. It draws on the look of several classic fonts from the 1920s and 30s which evoked the look of Middle-Eastern calligraphy. The synthesis is a font with style, strength and regularity. It's an excellent counterpoint to our Caliph font.

Yard Goods JNL is another typeface derived from a sign making outfit consisting of a series of stencils manufactured by the Display Material Company of St. Paul Minnesota. This clean and casual sans design embodies the hand-lettering of 1920s and 30s era show cards, price tickets and display signs.
