Based off of research into Nevada cattle branding irons of the 19th century, Ranchstyle takes the vernacular from rancher’s brands of the old west, digitizes it, and brings it into the contemporary world as a vivacious spunky typeface. The letterforms mimic bent metal and have the fluidity that follows such a material.

Hermaphrodite was developed for the Bastard Project and had its origin in the idea of applying the process of an Antiqua on a Grotesque. In other words, a Grotesque font was drawn calligraphically and then digitized. Some inconvenient corners were simply cut off.

Auntie Pat is a new script font in my continuing objective of designing scripts that I can really use. Of course, I am looking for readability in booklets. In many ways, Auntie Pat is a very unusual script in that it has caps, lowercase, small caps with the appropriate figures for each case. In the 1959 premiere season of “The Untouchables” (based on the book by Eliot Ness and Oscar Fraley) the opening title jumps off of the cover of the book and stretches out into tall, extremely condensed lettering. This inspired the type font Federal Agent JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Funkadelity is a funky breed between 60ies poster typography and 80ies grafitti. Maybe even inspired a bit by comic book lettering! Funkadelity wants to burn off the dance floor and show off the fancy dance moves - at the same time, it want to show off the smooth and clean lines of the letters. MFC Nadall Medieval was originally designed by Bernard William "Berne" Nadall for Barnhardt Brothers & Spindler back in 1885 under the name "Faust Text" and later under the "Missal Text Series". While you could use its capitals to construct an initial monogram, this is not a monogram font, but instead a fully functional typeface for invitations and period lettering. This lettering style has been precisely recreated and expanded on to create a full typeface with a small collection of ligatures. Amitale (A-mi-tah'-lay) is the union of Amitale Book and Amitale Wide into a new 8-font book family in my continuing objective of designing a better font family for readability in booklets. My goal here is for a full range of styles from light, regular, bold, and black without the plugged counters and clunky feel of most bold fonts. In my use, personally. I do not use Amitale Book Bold. I use Wide for the bold and Wide-Bold for the black style. In many ways, Amitale is Brinar with bracketed serifs. Many people find Brinar to be an exceptionally readable and beautiful humanist sans. This new serif font family has many of the same characteristics. This is also the debut of my new OpenType features set for 2009. Blatt is a retro-modern font which features downtoned strokes of writing brush, a writing instrument of Korean Serif font. The vertical/horizontal and high-contrast strokes as well as large graphemes complete the modern style of Blatt, with strokes finished off by the distinctive style of Latin Bracketed-Serif fonts. Blatt is a display font which looks ideal in big sizes (with details of each letter highlighted), while it remains legible in small sizes, too.

Worriment is a simple, one-off typeface; part of the Dreads collection from the Ampersand Forest. He was born of a whimsical sense of queasiness and unease — he's not just scary, he's Scary Fun! A little kitsch, a little horror. Great for use on Halloween-themed designs, and reminiscent of a "wizarding" look. In terms of letterforms, Worriment is a quirky blackletter-latin hybrid with a sharp, slightly bouncy baseline, and jangly angles, suitable for display use.

Damian is a font designed with simplicity in mind and a hint of flare to catch the attention of the user. The sans serif style is based off of the geometrical features of Futura and Univers. With the focus on the circle creating the forms this font is geared towards a feeling of modern art deco. The name comes from a colleague who asked to be named after the font, it was his birthday, how could I say no.

26 Flowers is a digital revival and restoration of a beautiful collection of 26 individually unique ornamental letters from historical texts. I like playing around with brushes and Chinese ink. I always have some kind of idea of what the final design should look like, but once it’s done, it never ever looks like what I had in mind. Apex Brush is one of those designs: it started off as a few brush strokes, but before I knew it, I had a really nice set of matching brush fonts! Use it for any design that needs a bit of rough, a splash of ink and a pinch of rebel.
