This font provides a typical set of characters for the ancient Nabataean language, used in what is now Jordan and adjoining regions during the period of the Roman Empire, based on lapidary letter-forms of the first century of the present era. It includes a full set of alphabetic characters as well as the ancient numeral forms, with ligatures and variant shapes for some numerals.

An unconventional classicistic Roman typeface This Roman typeface has a livelier effect than is typical of the epoch of classicistic style. In the lower case letters, an echo of the smoother forms of historically early scripts is identifiable. Typical of a classicistic Roman typeface are the emphasized and clear contrast in the weight of the strokes, the fine serifs and the accentuation of the vertical bold stem. Charpentier Classicistique is pleasantly legible. Its effect is much less harsh than other classicistic fonts. The pointed forms of M and N are uncommon. At 30°, the italic version of Charpentier Classicistique is unusually strongly slanted. The italic lower case letters refer, in part, to English handwriting, which also falls under classicism. Especially the curves show forms influenced by writing. Charpentier Classicistique supports all European languages including Turkish, Greek and Russian. It includes lots of ligatures, also discretional ones, as well as tabular figures and cap-height figures.

Rudolf typeface was designed on the basis of medals made by author's grandfather, the sculptor Rudolf Rogatty. He used lettering that was very typical of monuments, medals and commemorative plaques during communist times in Poland, which can still be seen today in any Polish city. These letters are beautiful for their imperfection and they have very strictly defined rules governing their structure.

Retaining all the imperfections and irregularities of wood type, Wormwood Gothic is a gothic sans with all the naive and uneven character shapes typical of the period. The ‘capitals’ feature extended characters, while the ‘lower case ’ features capitals of squarer proportions. Freely mix the two in word settings or colour in red and black for a Dada collage, billposter, urban grit or antique Americana atmosphere.

The Vtg Stencil fonts from astype are based on real world stencils from several countries. The US No. 4 design was derived from a typical antique US-American stencil-plate. This revolving stencil-plate was invented by Eugene L. Tarbox and patented in 1868. It was a mass factored product and a very common tool in the United States until the success of the interlocking stencils. In case of US No. 4 an original early stencil plate from New York Stencil Works was used. The Regular font style is a clean font design featuring an extended Latin glyph set including some typical stencil ornaments and tabular figures. Suchow was developed from a hand lettered storybook title by Willy Pogany. It's designed to give the feel of the Far East, with character shapes reminiscent of oriental brush lettering. The look of the characters is typical of lettering often used around the turn of the century for oriental-themed advertising and decoration, but not seen very often in contemporary use. The full version includes an expanded character set.

IMPuzzled uses the OpenType feature of Contextual Alternatives to alternate two sets of characters. The sets are on two puzzle pieces that tessellate, that is, fit together to fill the plane with no gaps or overlaps. Empty pieces are on the brace keys and can be used to fill spaces. The black or solid style is designed to be used in a layer under the regular style, though it can be used alone if adjacent pieces are given different colors. This unusual font has limited uses but may be appropriate when the topic is related to the broad areas of puzzles, puzzled, and fitting pieces together.

The hand lettered credits from the 1931 melodrama “Safe in Hell” inspired the typeface Pre Code Movies JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. The design is strongly influenced by the popular Art Deco style of thick-and-thin characters and also features rounded corners. The font’s name comes from the early era of talking pictures and the short period before the establishment of the Hays Office in 1934 when Hollywood did not self-censor itself. Many then-taboo topics were exploited on film until Will Hays cracked down on such productions. Sheet music featuring a song from the 1933 film "Torch Singer" starring Claudette Colbert was the basis for Dine and Dance JNL. A multi-line Art Deco design, it epitomizes both the typographic style and the night life of the time, when supper clubs featuring big bands were at their peak. Torch Singers were female vocalists who typically sang melancholy love songs of lost love and heartbreak.

The typeface which inspired this offering was originally called "Chaucer", not because it is typical of lettering of Chaucer’s time (which it is not) but, more likely, because it’s pretty funny, even if the humor is low. Another purveyor of low humor, Mack Sennett and his Keystone Kops, suggested this version’s name. Both versions of this font include the complete Unicode Latin 1252 and Central European 1250 character sets.

Hennepin derives from a bridge, a street and a county that share the same name in Minneapolis, MN. It is a serif font comprised of three agile weights: regular, light, and extra light. The character set contains typical OpenType features in addition to small caps, and old style numbers, but most importantly, it embraces stylistic alternatives that unite and complete this font.

Linotype Aperto is a typical text font in the style of transitional faces, like its often-used cousin Times. It is available in roman, semibold and bold weights, each with its matching italic. The roman weight is complete with old style figures and small caps. Its balanced, reserved appearance makes Aperto extremely flexible, good for long texts as well as headlines.

Markin is named after the writing utensil with which it looks like it was drawn, the marker. Its even strokes display characteristics similar to those of a sans serif typeface, but the stroke endings with their typical handwritten look give Markin a personal touch. Extremely versatile, it is the perfect choice for any work where individuality and spontaneity are the emphasis.

Songs of the early 1900s were anything but the status quo in topic or style. Excessively long titles, novelty tunes and "foreign themes" permeated the piles of sheet music in the local music shops. 1916's "Oh How She Could Yacki Hacki Wicki Wacki Woo (That's Love in Honolu)" covered a number of these quirks within one publication. This Hawaiian-tinged song evoked the mysterious ways of the South Seas islands, despite the abridging of Honolulu to "Honolu". Nonetheless, the hand lettered title of this particular piece of sheet music featured an Art Nouveau-influenced bold block letter with rounded corners. It's now available digitally as Smooth Sailing JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

Presidio is a stylized version of the hand-lettered calligraphy typical of the Mission era of early California. Faber Fraktur is a very legible type perfectly suitable for long texts. It does not appear nearly as foreign and archaic as the old black-letter fonts. The capital letters especially have a charm of their own radiating a kind of playfulness in spite of their severe form.

Phoenica Std Mono expands the already large family of my very successful Phoenica. The motivation to develop a new mono-Phoenica family was that I was not satisfied with monospaced fonts in programming code, or simply in e-mail correspondence. The Mono Phoenica solves the problem of a typical monospaced font, a rigid, fixed width. The design gradations from Condensed monospaced to monospaced from 390em to 600em-square incurred a total of 21 fonts. Packages contain the fonts in CFF-OpenType and TrueType format, so you can use these beautiful fonts on all operating systems.

The title and credits from the 1965 film “Strange Bedfellows” were hand lettered in a style typical of the early-to-mid 1960s – casual and playful. This brought to mind similar type designs used by many radio stations when advertising their disc jockeys as cool, hip and fashionable in the slang term of the day “boss” jocks. Boss Jock JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.
